Maybe a general thread for volcanicity since Tonga has gone up. Volcanoes, despite bringing disaster short term, are vital to the health of the planet.
So, 4 years ago this happened in the South Pacific

It created a new island which began to spawn life

It wasn't done after the hotspot spawned the original islands, and now the biggest eruption so far this weekend occurred.
I'm curious to what is formed now, either an even bigger island or has it blown it's head off to form a new caldera and lagoon
I'm sure there will be a lot more videos coming out on this one, especially of the Tsunami.
