Dentistry... Vitaleurope
Unfortunately I'm unable to join in the hair transplant thread as I have nothing to transplant from.. well I don't think greying gingery tight curly hair would look good anyhow.
What I would like though is some feedback from anyone that has used Vitaleurope either in Budapest or in London for any dentistry work.. I've heard good and bad stories online of things going well and folk having negative experiences, but what I'm looking for is real feedback from anyone that has used this company. Prices are considerably cheaper than UK... But is this a case of too good to be true, or are we getting ripped.
Thanks

Discussion: Will we actually sign anyone? 2019 thread
Not enough concrete rumours out there.
Not looking good at this stage. I suspect we may make a signing, but not anyone that is going to walk into the first 11.

Linked in the mail with a(nother) right back, this time from Olympiacos. Last signing from Olympiacos worked out alright!

Cheaper than many other options, USM client, perfect compliment to Ward.

Too early? Perhaps. However there's not enough time for a player to integrate and get fit for the XI even if we sign someone before the window closes in 10 days. Interested to hear other people's thoughts but these are the close calls as I see it:
Dann or Kelly?
Tomkins won't be ready, so I'd go for Dann. Our back 4 is painfully slow with the departure of AWB so we may as well play Scott for his aerial threat seeing as we will have to defend with a deep line anyway.
McArthur or Kouyate?
Another tight call but I'd go for McArthur as he is slightly better technically and we are at home. But I'd be equally happy with CK if that's what the manager decides.
Meyer or Schlupp?
Max Meyer improved massively towards the end of last season, and has arguably been our best player in pre season so he deserves to start. Schlupp doesn't have the same technical ability. Although JS is the manager's favourite I think he'd be better off the bench, using his pace against tiring defenders. We all know Jeff will start though.

Rules are as follows
1 Every player has 200 points to bet with in the first round.
2 Each separate bet made is 10 points meaning players have 20 bets during the first 20 days. Maximum bet on a single market is 10 points, same rule applies for identical multis (basically no duplicate bets though you can do a team A, team B double on one bet and then add team C for a treble in another bet)
3 In the second round the 4* finalists all start by carrying forward 25% of their score from the first round added to the 150 points that can bet used in the second round. The person who qualifies for the final with the most points also gets an additional 10pt bet. (*if the number of participants gets to 16 or more, then a 5th finalist place will be added and then one more for every 5 players on top of that).
4 Betting Masters, first group stages runs from 0000 on the first of the month (standard UK time) to 2359hrs on the 20th of the month. Then the top four* posters come together in a mini league from there on until the end of the month.
Final bet settlement must occur before 2359 on the last day of the month.
5 Naturally the winner is the person with the highest score at the end of the last day of the month.
6 Scoring consists of total winnings and is inclusive of 10 point stake i.e. someone bets on a 6/4 horse and it wins their score becomes 25 (15 points profits plus the 10 pt stake) There is no score for any bets not used. Losing bets are scored as zero, not -10.
Any bet from an exchange bookie will have a 4% commission (on the winnings), if nothing else is explicitly stated in the post.
7 Players must quote where they're getting their prices.
8 Singles and upwards accepted.
9 For boxed multis and bets such as Yankees, each separate bet within the bet counts as separate and will cost 10pts per bet. e.g. ten trebles from five selections will use up 100 points.
10. E/W bets are counted as two bets in the masters, which means 10 points x 2
11. For tracking purposes, players are requested to put the outcome of their bets on the post for all events other than European soccer/tennis.
12. Where possible players are requested to put down a running total of their bets in their posts, although I'll also try and produce rolling league tables where possible.
13. After a bet has been posted up, one is not allowed to edit it..
14. The bets must be possible to do in real life, meaning for example that if you got a multi, all the odds have to come from 1 bookmaker. You cant shop around for the highest odds and put them together. "Special promotion" type bets are not allowed though BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed) are.
15. Bets must be placed at odds of 1/10 (or 1.1 in decimal) or higher
16. Any Draw No Bet bets where the result is a push will always have the bet settled as void, never 10pts. Any asian handicap bet where the result is a push (in full) will have the bet settled as void. Any asian handicap where half of the stake is returned will be marked down as 5pts with the remainder of the Asian handicap settled as a win or a loss (this is applicable for asian handicaps such as 2.25 or -2, -2.5 etc)
17. In the event that a player is not sure if their bet will finish in time, before midnight on the 20th or midnight for qualifying midnight on the final day of the month for the final, they can make a provisional bet or bets which then become actual bets only if their original selection(s) finishes at 12.01am or after
4 Betting Masters, first group stages runs from 0000 on the first of the month (standard UK time) to 2359hrs on the 20th of the month.
17. In the event that a player is not sure if their bet will finish in time, before midnight on the 20th or midnight for qualifying midnight on the final day of the month for the final, they can make a provisional bet or bets which then become actual bets only if their original selection(s) finishes at 12.01am or after
Seems like this is predominately about Palace, going to be talking to Roy Wilf, Brighty and others.

New disabled PA policy at Selhurst
A charming new policy from the club, who operate an evidence based system so that ticket holders must provide proof of disability living support, to allow them to purchase a ticket.
Ticket holders now must enter the stadium with 60 seconds of their PA ticket holder.
The club have already asked for evidence, they have slow management of crowds on matchdays and frequently have problems at turnstiles. 60 seconds is a ludicrously short amount of time, given that many of these ticket holders will have mobility impairments.
Beyond that, it perpetuates a negative, sceptical view of disabled people. If the club don't trust their own evidence based system, then they need to look at another process that is respectful and realistic. A 60 second window is ludicrous.
If you've not been in this position then I will expect you to comment with the usual retorts to this kind of thread.

They also predict that we're going to beat Brighton twice this year and have 5 consecutive clean sheets later in the season.

DAZN TV
Has anyone used/subscribed to DAZN? what is your experience? It seems to be very new and not available (legally) in the UK so I am not expecting many replies. in Spain it is 5 euros a month, with a netflix style cancellation policy. The have a number of sports, most importantly all the prem games that are being shown live on Sky or BT. They have other games on delay (not really my thing) plus FA and league cup games. They also have a few other sports.

What's our official relationship with Utilita?
Are they our academy sponsor? Today they've been fined £175,000 by OFGEM after failing to meet carbon emission reduction obligations.
More worryingly, I seem to remember Palace encouraging fans to use the company, but "customers could have missed out on £30,000 of savings on energy bills as a result of Utilita Energy failing to meet carbon emission reduction obligations".
This doesn't reflect well on the company, or Palace that have a relationship with them.

Sim carded tablet help please
Fella at work has a Samsung tablet(I think it's a tablet)that does everything my phone does, the layout is exactly the same.I am a complete computer idiot and can't find the tablet on line.Went to curry's and explained it but they just gave me blank looks:confused:
So anyone please help me/tell me which tablet(hopefully Samsung)that I can stick a sim card in and use data roaming.Wifi is no good,it must take a sim card for the data roaming.
Maybe it was a massive Samsung phone and not a tablet,i really have no idea and can't ask the fella as he is no longer on site.
Any pointers would be a help.

Anyone believe this one .......? 📰 Crystal Palace are planning a move for Newcastle defender Ciaran Clark, in either a £5m or season-long loan deal [The Sun] #CPFC
Rumour: Ciaran Clark
Crystal Palace are preparing a move for Newcastle centre-back Ciaran Clark.
Roy Hodgson wants the 29-year-old to bolster his options in defence for next season and will now decide on whether to target a loan or permanent signing.
Clark has been targeted for his Premier League experience after playing regularly at Aston Villa before helping Newcastle earn promotion to the top-flight.
They could get around £5million for the Republic of Ireland international but a season-long loan is also an option.

Palace for Life Fundraising
Hello all,
I'll be taking part in Ride London 100 at the weekend, riding a hundred miles for Palace for Life.
My company have generously offered to donate a total of £500 if I can reach my target of £750 by the time the ride takes place on Sunday. It's currently at £526 so that target is definitely within reach.
If you fancy helping me hit that target, and in turn giving Palace for Life an additional £500, please consider donating here - To view the link you have to Register or Login
Any donations would be gratefully received!

Works outside Thornton Heath & Selhurst Stations
A warning for the Berlin friendly and the Everton league games.
There are currently major sewer replacement works right outside Thornton Heath Station with 3-way temporary traffic lights over a single lane section. The ends of Melfort Road and Bensham Manor Road by The Railway Telegraph are also closed to traffic and subsequent narrow footpaths. you can expect long delays along Brigstock Road and through Thornton Heath High Street on matchdays with the works due to continue until 31st August.
You can also expect that this will create extra traffic on other routes such as Green Lane, Pawsons Road and Whitehorse Road.
Also the footpath alongside Selhurst Station is due to re-open on Friday 2nd August following construction work for the disabled access lifts at the station but there still seemed a lot of work to do yesterday. This will also mean that the path will be now diverted around the station to use the current narrow front entrance.

The issue with Niqabs

Food hygiene ratings from the Food Standards Agency
Two reasons for starting this. Firstly, I heard a piece about this on the radio recently. Someone in the industry said she would only feel comfortable eating at a place with a minimum rating of 3. It goes from 0 (worst) to 5 (best).
Secondly, there's a great Asian place near me (not going to name it) where the food is excellent and they get consistently praised online. But I just found out they have a food hygiene rating of 2 ("some improvement is necessary"). I will probably still go there, but try and be careful and keep an eye out for anything that looks dodgy.
According to the FSA website, businesses in England don't have to display their ratings in the window, but all are recorded on the website, You can easily search for the business, get the headline rating, and request a copy of of the food safety officer's inspection report.
This is their website:

Searching food businesses in my area, most seem to have 4 or 5 which is more than OK ("good and very good"). I think I will certainly look for a 4 or 5 rating in the window when eating at new places now.

Hong Kong protests
Not sure how much news of events in HK is reaching the UK, given the horror show of Brexit and political turmoil at home.
The government here, grown used to getting its own pro-Beijing way by nudging authoritarian changes slowly-slowly, imagined it could pass a new law permitting extradition to China by relying on the perceived apathy of the people to protest, the apparent failure of the occupy movement in 2014 and the success of measures implemented in the past few years to stuff the legislative council (LegCo) with pro-Beijing lawmakers and ban or jail “pro Hong Kong” candidates.
1M then a few weeks later 2M people (over ¼ of the population) rocked up to peacefully protest the extradition law in June, but when Carrie Lam, the HK Chief Executive, dismissed the protesters’ demands and has refused to compromise whatsoever or even discuss current events (save for weak Chinese Communist Party (CCP) approved statements), an escalating cycle of violence has ensued including the invasion and trashing of LegCo (imagine parliament being stormed) and now every couple of days major clashes between police and thousands of young protesters at locations all over the territory.
China has badly misjudged the depth of feeling in HK amongst ordinary folk and the sense amongst mostly young people who do not identify with the nation of China and perceive diminishing prospects for themselves – 22 years into the 50 years of “one country two systems” protecting HK’s independent judiciary and freedoms (such as speech and protest) under the 1984 Joint Declaration between the UK and China which the CCP has now declared a “historical document”. Unlike the Occupy movement which split opinions down the middle, there’s perhaps 80% of the population, of all ages, who support the “anti-extradition” movement (with 20% preferring the status quo or adopting a “China will do what the **** it wants anyway” position).
For the CCP the primary goal is self-preservation, with HK supposedly the shining example of “one country two systems” that will deliver the secondary goal of unification with Taiwan. As the China economy begins to slide there’s a feeling that events in HK provide a convenient distraction from this and events in Xinjiang. Whilst Britain (and the US e.g. Marco Rubio) have made noises supportive of the protests the expectation is that realpolitik will win and HK is essentially on it own. The CCP / HK government doesn’t appear to know what to do (Carrie Lam has been studiously hiding for weeks now – imagine a national crisis and Boris not even appearing in public). Do they send in the PLA? Trigger Tiananmen #2? Hope for protest fatigue and the problem goes away? Come to the negotiating table prepared to listen and make concessions?
Uncertain times in HK as nobody knows how this is going to play out.

Health related Smart Watches
Hi all
After a friend had a major health scare all of us as a group have decided to get fit and healthy. To cut a long story short he had a heart attack but the consultant at the hospital basically asked him after what does he do to get his heart rate above 100 regularly. He relayed this to us in the pub... He said never and it got us thinking about our lifestyles... All of us are in our forties and while younger we all played sport. None of us do now. So we've taken up cycling. A few also running.
I've been looking at getting a smart watch with all the regular fitness related stuff. Garmin looks like it does a good range. Samsung also do one.
What do people use on here? Anyone recommend one?

We will finish in top 4!
Really believe we will break the top 4 this season. With Zaha looking like staying now and Benteke returning to form pre-season we will be a match for anyone. Guiata has a years prem experience under his belt. Key will be keeping Sakho fit, as with him and Tomkins we have the best centre back partnership in the league.
Chelsea's transfer ban, Arsenal being Arsenal and Ole being at the wheel provides opportunity for someone to sneak into 4th....
It can be us- believe!!!!!!!!!

Discussion: Are Palace not seriously looking to strengthen due to money issues
I can't help think helping thinking that there has been no real attempt to strengthen the squad this window (again) due to issues either with FFP, Building the new stand or issues between the owners.
In Pardew's last window, there was plenty of strong rumours about players, like Townsend, Tomkin and Benteke, that came good, with FDB the talk was all about Sakho (although fairly obvious) which came good, but last summer and this virtually nothing.
I can't help thinking that there no real plan to invest in new players this summer, that the sale of AWB was rather convenient for the board, and they are pinning their hopes on retaining Zaha, but he would go without much reinvestment if they got near-ish to the £80m.
Of course the Board might also expect Roy to play guys like Riedewald, Meyer, Sorloth a lot more, and even Jach might be expected to make a showing, with a few more of the youngsters like Dreher, Woods and perhaps Kirby making a show
We'll probably pick up a couple of last minute 'bargains', to top up the squad but not go straight into the side, so looks like the plan is to keep just above the relegation spots, because money is required elsewhere

Childrens TV
A thread to talk about kids programmes past and present.
Yes, I have personal reasons to begin this thread; as a father of a 4 year old, its wall to wall kids TV these days, especially CBeebies, so desperately seeking other adults to discuss my only viewing entertainment.
CBeebies...
In all seriousness, have to say it is of a very high quality and massive kudos to the presenters and makers of most of the programmes. Intelligently, artistically and lovingly executed. Hey Duggee is just brilliant. Anyway, enough of the appropriate adult observations, lets get down to the nitty gritty.
BING ......wtf is going on here??? A toddler bunny and his friends. Apart from being highly annoying and the type of whiney, selfish little brat you want to slap into next week, youve got all these young children playing about the house but where are their feckin parents? They all have these weird miniature knitted characters like Flop as their carers, who are noticeably smaller than the toddlers and who keep the kids in line with their moralising, know-it all bulls*it.
I read a theory once that there had been some apocalyptic scenario where all the parents and adults had been murdered and Bing, Sula and the other kids create these imaginary adults like Flop as a coping mechanism.
Another thing Ive noticed is in the opening credits as theyre running along, Pandos shorts always fall down. What is he? Some kind of child flasher?
Topsy and Tim...hate these two perfect little swats with their perfect parents all being perfect in their perfect little worlds. I would dearly like to go round and take Topsy and Tim to one side and reveal to them that their mum and dad have been arrested on drug charges and will do a stretch of about 20 years and theyll never seen them again and have to go into care. The one redeeming feature of this show is that mum is the hottest woman by a country mile on CBeebies. I hate that big nosed, fun dad husband of hers. How does he get so lucky to end up with her?
Ive got a lot more to say but I think Ill stop there.

Wilf .... So how do we treat him now?
samedi 27 juillet 2019
With the Dark Arts being employed by his agent and also his brother, I'm pissed at him but we all know how much we love him ..
No other fans rate him like we do!
No other fans will ever love him as much as we do!
So how do we treat him?
If he stays but we know he doesn't want to really be here? :frown:
If he goes and is ripping us up for another Premiership team? :frown:

Meanwhile, Eagles transfer supremo Dougie Freedman has inquired about Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr.
Freedman first spotted 21-year-old Sarr playing for Senegal in the World Cup and has tracked him since.
The forward, who is also a target for Watford, is available for around £30m.
He also contacted Nottingham Forests former Rennes coach Sabri Lamouchi for a personal check.
Meanwhile, Eagles transfer supremo Dougie Freedman has inquired about Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr.
Freedman first spotted 21-year-old Sarr playing for Senegal in the World Cup and has tracked him since.

Retaining season ticket card.
I wondered why they dont issue a new season ticket card? They give you a new wallet so it cant be saving plastic or money. Is it just a way siphon an extra £10 if you lose it? I dont mind using the same card I just wonder the purpose.
The best cheapest Palace side ever
I think this side cost us a grand total of £0.00
Think we've always been a club that has done better unearthing gems than spending big.
Can anyone think of a better side that cost nothing or very little?
-------------------------Guaita--------------------------
Wan Bissaka------Cannon----Southgate-------Sansom
Zaha----------Nicholas--------Gray-----------Salako
---------------Morrison---------Wright----------------
I am aware that we ended up having to buy back Gray, Zaha and Morrison but they cost us nothing to begin with.

Moaning
I'm aware that this is a bit of a moan itself, and I'm not getting into any specifics about the club or individuals, or transfer policies or anything. I'm not saying there are not considerable issues at the club (even if the reality is none of us really know anything, even though we often talk like we do). Nor am I trying to do a better fan thing, or suggest people can't moan, just as people are fully able to be constantly positive if they so wish.
All that said, reading these boards and - especially - Twitter, the moaning from Palace fans (about seemingly everything) just seems to be constant.
I've always understood that people use football as a release, and thus could understand a lot of the nonsense you hear at games, but it has extended online, every hour of every day.
What I find most weird is that people seem to just repeat themselves again and again and again and again, re-treading over past ground. When they look forward, it tends to be getting annoyed at things that haven't happened, or are guesswork at best.
Honestly, each to their own (though it can be frustrating when you're looking online for actual news), but I just don't quite get it. What do people get out of it?
Is it a Palace thing, or a football thing? Is it just the way of the world in 2019, amplified by social media and the endless quest to keep up with the Joneses?

Excel question
Hi guys, can I request some help if someone knows the answer to an excel question I have been given. I know what to do with an IF and I wouldn't use the two IF & AND but rather SUMIFS for the below. It's a question I can't get a logical answer from the internet. I got as far as to just get greater than 50,000. I can't work out how to determine the currency column, to just add in figures that have GBP.
=IF(L11>=50000,L11,0)
Thank you in advance.
IF and AND FUNCTIONS
OBJECTIVE: Identify the entered amounts (Column K) that are GBP and greater than or equal to £50,000
Go to Column N with heading GBP Greater than or equal to £50,000
In the blank blue cells under Column N, using the IF function and the AND function, pull in entered amounts from Column L if they are:
o GBP (per Column K) and
o Equal to or greater than £50,000 (per Column L)
(Note: amount in Column N should by zero if Entered amount is not GBP and greater than or equal to £50,000)
Ensure the function is copied to cells N2:N1371
In cell N1372, using Subtotal function, sum cells N2:N1371
=IF(L11>=50000,L11,0)
Thank you in advance.

The Great Hack : Netflix Documentary
Anyone else watched it yet? Covers the Cambridge Analytica and Facebook scandal and how it potentially impacted the Trump election and Brexit as well as a number of other votes worldwide.
Scary how the data was used to try and influence the people they felt they could persuade. With both the Trump and Brexit wins being by only a very small margin, these tactics could have realistically swayed the result.
Definitely recommend watching it. It is very one sided, but does expose a very real threat of the internet and social media data these companies have access to.

Vote for the greatest former Palace loanee
Up on the official website now. Now choices are;
Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Kevin Phillips
Jason Puncheon
Ashley Cole
Scott Sinclair
Nico Vaesen
Mikael Forssell
Currently Loftus-Cheek is top of the list - which I was surprised to see. Personally, given the impact he had in the short time he was here I'd go for Phillips, with Vaesen not too far behind.

Suggestion: Said Benrahma
Press reports that following their purchase of the Egypt winger Trezeguet and the rejection of a £14m bid Aston Villa have pulled out of any deal to sign Said Benrahma.
Just 23 (about to turn 24) scored goals in the Championship and created more too, involved in 24 goals in all last season. We need more game changers and he looks like he would be able to do that, deputising for or replacing Wilf maybe and backup for Andros.
Should we be getting in there and making a decent bid, £15m rising to £20 if he is a success?

Crystal Ball: End of season position prediction
Hi all,
It is that time of year again where before the Everton game, you get the chance to predict what position we will end up in the league.
Just out your mark against the position you think we will be on the attached poll.
5 points will be awarded to anybody getting it exactly right, 2 points to those that are 1 position out. These will be added at the end of the season onto the 2019/20 ongoing scores.

Who does RH genuinely believe are 1st team squad players
We know from last season that although we had a squad of 25 , there were quite a few players that RH wouldn't select unless he had no option .
Wonder if others agree that currently the following are the only ones he would really consider .
Guaita , Hennessey
Ward , Sakho , Tomkins , Kelly , PVA , Dann
Zaha , Townsend , McArthur , Milivojevic , Kouyate , Meyer , Schlupp
Benteke
From his comments recently i dont see any youngsters being trusted and I suspect he is not a fan of Wickham , Sorloth , Riedewald .
So from my reckoning we currently only have 16 players who RH feels are good enough to be available for selection.
NB/ Sakho , Tomkins both injured and tend to miss a third of a season and even if we added Wickham his fitness is a huge concern .

Quite surprised by this move. Thought they would have sold him rather than him go out on loan.
Norwich 28/09/19
Very disappointed in the club, I purchased 3 tickets in Block E of the Lower Holmesdale for the Norwich game online. They sent me a confirmation email with attachments with the printable e tickets, all good so far.
Then yesterday through the post 3 tickets for the Norwich game were delivered for Block Z in the Arthur Wait Stand, so rather puzzled I logged onto my account to see that they had refunded me for the Holmesdale tickets and then charged me for the Arthur Wait tickets.
I would not have chosen these tickets at all and they just think its okay to do that with absolutely no contact to myself about what they had chosen to do.
I have had no response from the club about this, has anyone else suffered this poor service from the club recently?

New rules 2019/20 season
From the Prem League:
Free-kicks
Goalkeepers facing free-kicks will no longer have to deal with intruders in their defensive wall.
In previous seasons, players from the attacking team might have tried to stand among their opponents to create holes in the wall or block the 'keeper's view.
This has often caused management problems for the referee and wasted time, while it is also against the spirit of the game.
From now on, when there is a wall of three or more defenders, the attacking players will not be allowed within a yard of it.
If one is caught standing within that area when the free-kick is taken, the referee will award an indirect free-kick against them.
Playing out from the back
Goalkeepers will also now be able to play shorter goal-kicks and free-kicks inside their penalty area.
The ball will no longer need to leave the box before it can be played.
Experiments have shown that this produces a faster and more constructive restart.
It has also stopped the tactic of time-wasting whereby a defender deliberately plays the ball before it leaves the penalty area, knowing there will be no punishment and the goal-kick will simply be retaken.
Opponents must still remain outside the box and at least 9.15m away until the ball is in play.
Delaying a card
Teams on the attack will now be given a better chance of maintaining their momentum and finding the net following a foul.
If the referee is about to show a yellow or red card but a quick free-kick is taken and creates a goalscoring opportunity, the referee can delay the card until the next stoppage.
However, if the offending team has been distracted by the referee starting the procedure of issuing the card, the quick free-kick will not be allowed.
For an offence that denies an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, the player will be cautioned rather than sent off because the attack was restarted.
This last one could cause a few arguments. So should a team take a quick free kick to hopefully score or not do so to get the player sent off?
In the next episode ... new rules about hand ball...

Phone Upgrade Question
So, my upgrade period started today, I've been looking at deals. My question is:
If I upgrade various places want a min. of £50 per month.
But, if I want to stay with the same network and just get a new phone and tariff it's about £10 less per month.
Can I do Option 2 now or would I have to use the Upgrade prices or wait until September when the current contract completely ends?

Suggestion: Connor Roberts
Would prefer this type of signing , talented , young ( 22 I think ) and quite experienced rather than Clyne / Jenkinson , etc .
Connor Roberts
Everton can also look to target Swansea City ace, Connor Roberts. Primarily a right-back, he can also deputise as the left-back. His versatility will come in handy as Leighton Baines has looked a tad unreliable even as a back-up given his injury travails.
Roberts has plenty of experience under his belt, having played for Yeovil Town, Bristol Rovers, Middlesbrough and the Swans and has shown immense maturity and calmness while discharging his duties.
Last season, he mustered 45 appearances in the Championship and bagged 5 goals and an assist. He is a modern-day full-back and has the calibre to make a quick transition from defence to attack.
He is an excellent passer of the ball and has pace to burn, which make him an appealing commodity for any top side. The Welsh international has proved his mettle in the Championship and seems to be ready for the next step up in his career

Daniel Sturridge: Former Liverpool striker banned for breaching betting rules

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been banned from playing football for two weeks and fined £75,000 after being found guilty of breaching betting rules.
He was given a six-week ban, four of which were suspended, and is free to play again on 31 July.
The Football Association says it will appeal against the dismissal by an independent regulatory commission of various charges alleging he passed on inside information over a potential transfer in January 2018.
Nine of the 11 charges against the 29-year-old were dismissed.
The commission found two charges were proved - that the former Manchester City and Chelsea forward, who scored eight times in 26 appearances for England, had instructed his brother Leon to bet on a possible move to Spanish side Sevilla FC, and that he had given him inside information.
In a statement, the FA said it "respectfully disagrees with the regulatory commission's findings and will be appealing against the charges which were dismissed and the sanction which was imposed".

Probably a thread on this in the midst of time..
But just of the back of the bashing at Barnet.
I missed the end of Coppell's regime, a 5-1 at Crawley and 6-0 at Millwall, which must have been up there..
I've never actually seen us win at Crawley
Last 3 occasions I've been
A 0-0 draw
0-1 defeat, think it was an evening game with Pistol and Big Griff, very drunk
0-3 early premier league, woeful, Campana played and Shipperley was in the stand
Any other **** ups you can remember?

Will we never take responsibility for our own actions ?
Read about this poor chap that had a fatal injury after sticking his head out of a train window. The sticker saying dont do it was there but still the train company was blamed and fined £1 million.

Today whenever there is a accident it is never our fault. Slip on water, sign should have been bigger. Trip over a slab, council should have fixed it. Branch fall on our head in a gale, tree should have been inspected.
I hope if I die by making a mistake others arent blamed.

R.I.P. Andrea Camilleri.
Sad to hear of the passing of Andrea Camilleri author of among many the Inspector Montalbano books. If you have not read any of his books you are missing a great writer. If you have not watched Montalbano on BBC 4 give them a go (worth coping with the subtitiles) The stories are great the landscape amazing.
Suggestion: Eliaquim Mangala
Cost Man City £42m in 2016 i think, and now allowed to leave on a free. We are short of defensive players, and our main 2 have injury concerns so might this be a good move? HE was a good enough defender to make City pay that sort of money for him, and i think he did ok on loan at Valencia (others may have a better idea) so would he be worth a punt on a free transfer? Currently has 1 year left on his deal at City but been told if he stays he will not play.
(POLL) Are you looking forward to the season starting?
There seems to be a large amount of negativity on here (as always) and other social media platforms at the moment. This has not been helped from selling one of our best defenders, continual talk of the possibility Wilf going, signing no one of note (as yet), having injuries to our two main central defenders and not winning one of our first pre-season games (not including the pen shoot out). Lots can change in the next 3 weeks however, or get worse......
So, are you looking forward to the season starting in 25 days - Yes or no?
(f--k the moo option on this poll)

Roy: "We've got enormous problems at the back at the moment. We really don't have any defenders, to speak of. Aaron's gone and we've got three others injured. We will have to do the best we can to make sure we replace [Wan-Bissaka] in some way." . Oh Jesus we are screwed and can we assume two of the three injured are Tomkins and sakho still ?

Divorce Family Law help #2 - Expense
Just come out of a meeting with a solicitor £300 lighter and feeling worse about things than before I went in.
The -ex is lawyered up and reneged on our two-year separation agreement last week out of the blue and has started proceedings. She has the money to go the whole hog. I don't. She stopped paying child maintenance last month too. To burden me financially even more most likely in preparation. Out of anxiety and because it is the sensible thing to do I saw a solicitor. Have to pay as had the hour freebie last August. Talking through the overall possible costs with her made me feel like someone had punched me in the stomach. Twice.
Can anyone please help with options so I can still get legal representation with a divorce/family solicitor and the cost down to something much more reasonable.

Does anybody actually like quorn?
My daughters gone veggie and I've used quorn in a few bolognese and chilis and now I can't stand the sight of it.
Just done a chili with black, pinto and a tin of refried beans and looks a lot, lot more palatable.

E Football PES 2020
First off, I bloody hate the new name, whoever came up with that should be shot. :D Really struggled to enjoy PES or FIFA 19 fully but PES 2020 (Yes that is what I will be calling it!) does look good. Hopefully some game play improvements as 19 felt very much like 18 to me.
My major plus point and the whole reason I bought FIFA as well last year is that the Spanish and Italian second tiers are back this year. :lux: Well done Konami to listening to the fans for once in your lives.

Why wont GP receptionist give me results?
I had what the GP thinks is bronchitis. Its finally mostly cleared after 5-6 weeks. They sent me for an X-ray about ten days ago as a precaution. Since then Ive felt better.
I called my GP and the receptionist came back after a few minutes and said the results are there but shes not allowed to give them and made a GP telephone appointment for Friday.
The receptionists given me blood test results before. Now Im worried that its something not good :( anyone know about this kinda thing?

UK Footballer To Come Out?
I don't know if many of you has seen this, but there is this anonymous twitter account claiming to be an U23 player for a Championship club, and they want to be the first footballer since Justin Fashanu to come out publicly. Obviously there is a lot of support for whoever is behind this twitter account, but at the same time there is a lot of suspicion that it is not genuine and it is some sort of troll account. I think a lot of people are suspect of the twitter account username.
If it is a genuine account and someone does come out, i think it would be a great step forward. I just hope there isnt some sort of sicko behind it using it as some sort of vehicle to troll people. What do people think?

Cheikhou Kouyate
As he’s both captain and centre back for Senegal, I wonder if we have him earmarked to move there if Scott Dan was to go. He must be doing a pretty good job there, five clean sheets More proof that we really need to focus any money on aright back and strikers/wingers maybe
Have bwighton become a selling club ?
With the proposed sales of the two big noses is it at all possible that they have become a selling club ? Is tony trying to get some of his money back ?

I can't see another thread on this, so not sure why as the previous years threads are always good value.
Welcome back boys - I see they are back for another season kicking off with the pre season pod in Switzerland. A good listen, if not a little downbeat which I suppose is expected after the last two displays.

Advice on Landlord
Hello all.
So earlier this year I started renting a room in a house share near Maidenhead. The live out Landlord seemed like a nice enough guy. Before I moved in I paid him a month upfront as a deposit and I asked him to provide me with a tenancy agreement which he said he would sort out.
Flash forward 6 months and I never got a tenancy agreement. I have also requested smoke alarms to be installed multiple times but that has never happened.
As recent as last month the power in the house stopped working due to dodgy wiring that took 2 months to fix.
The shower was also not working for the past 6 months until he recently replaced it.
Recently one of the house mates moved out and he moved a new fella in which is fine but he has now decided the house is not up to the standard he wishes it to be cleanliness wise. The house is far from a tip though. It just doesnt get a lot of love from the tennants as even though its where we live we are all barely actually home most of the week due to work or staying with our partners else where. Anyways he has decided to employ a cleaner and add this to our Rent saying he expects us to pay £40 this month each as the cleaner will be doing 3 hours a week. Bare in mind the house is only a small semi detached house and the only communal areas are a kitchen, a dining room and lounge that no one uses, a hall way and a bathroom. I feel like the whole house could be cleaned within 2 to 3 hours top once a month.
My question is this. Without any formal agreement in place can he do this?
Considering all the shit that has gone wrong since moving in I feel like this is an excessive amount of cleaning and money required by himself. Is there anything I can do?

Flight delay compensation
Apologies if theres another thread but couldnt find one.
My daughter has just endured a 22 hour delay to her flight back from Tenerife to Manchester. Obviously going to be claiming compo.
Just interested in any tips and hints re doing this. Seems pretty straight forward but always worth enquiring with the great minds of the BBS (WCB and SC need not reply).
Flight operator was Jet2 and reason given for the delay was simply operational reasons. Sounds like they simply didnt have enough planes for whatever reason.
They had around 6 hours waiting at the airport on Thursday evening and were told various times of scheduled departure which never came to fruition and the flight was officially cancelled around midnight. They were taken to various hotels and eventually got to their rooms for the night around 2am. Collected at 3pm next day to be taken back to the airport but without any detail of what time flights out would be. Eventually left at 8pm on a flight scheduled to leave at 6.45pm. Landed 12.10am this morning.
If anyone had had similar experiences and then claimed compo, Id be grateful for any hints, tips etc.
Many thanks

Jeffrey Epstein arrested for sex trafficking
vendredi 12 juillet 2019
This billionaire American Wall Street financier has been arrested again for sex trafficking minors. Already a registered sex offender, he was convicted in 2008 of soliciting a 14-year-old girl for prostitution, for which he served 13 months in "custody with work release" as part of a plea deal where federal officials had identified 36 victims.
What makes this case intriguing is that he has links to the great and good in the British establishment, notably a close friend of Prince Andrews.
Will be interesting to watch what unfolds.

Did you know thread....
Did you know that there is a huge shared data base on each persons restaurants orders and tastes, linked to every credit card that goes through a certain mega international hospitality company.
So you can go to a totally different restaurant with said credit card and somewhere in the bowels of said data base your previous orders will be collated for future use .... Targeting future AI and screen ordered food.

Escalating Transfer fees
I just read on BBC football that Leeds have put a £30m valuation on Kalvin Phillips, for a Championship midfielder. Its becoming sickening the money involved, only 20 year ago that would have bought you the best player in the world twice or 10 years ago Ronaldinho. Its starts to lose any attachment to reality and just feels quite grotesque. Breaking the £100m ceiling has somehow created a trickle of inflation to other leagues. It shows no sign of stopping either. People bang on about signing players from lower leagues or abroad but really £10m wont buy you much anymore.
I dont really have anymore to say other than it just makes me like football less.

UK vs Iran (away)
I see we're upping the ante by sending a second ship to the Gulf. Which means our entire Navy will now be down there.
What with limpet mines on Tankers, Uranium enrichment, sanctions and Iran and the US each vying for Alpha male I've-got-a-huge-member status its a concerning time. This seems to have escalation written all over it and the UK seems to be being sucked in.

Where is the money coming from?
Johnson and Hunt have both said tax cuts and money for the Navy and business rate cuts etc Corbyn has said more money as minimum wage buy back the utilities etc. But where the hell are these people going to get the money to fund this all? None of them make sense do they think they will get it from the magic money tree?
PL Prediction Competition! Free Entrance, 20£ to the winner!
Let me start by saying that this has been mod approved.
Been working on a hobby project for quite some time where the idea is to predict each teams final position for a given league.
Everything is completely free and no ads on the site.
Rules
Super easy rules and only a one time bet, no update each weekend etc.
Say you predict CP at 7th and we end up at 5th, thats 2 errors.
This calculation is then done for all teams, and least errors will win.
Place a bet
Anyway, to place a bet is super easy and only takes a minute or so, excluding the time putting into analyzing each team, of course :)
Go here: To view the link you have to Register or Login
Drag each team to the position you want, then create an account with same/similair nickname as on here so i can find the winner.
Use common sense with the password; not the same as on here!
You will then be able to edit your bet up until deadline, which will be August the 9th.
Prize
As mentioned in the title - and to make this a bit more exciting - there will be a 20£ prize to the winner, if we are more than 20 participants. If less than that this is gonna be boring to follow so no point in having a prize!
I'll contact the winner on here and we will find the easiest way to transfer the cash. Its not much, but a free chance to win a few beers at least!
When PL has started
When the competition has started the calculation and the current standings will be updated automatically after each game.
All bets will be public at this time, so you can check out how others have betted.
However, to make use of this forum rather than the app, i'll make sure to post regular updates on here as well as some fun statistics on how we betted overall, such as an average table (each team given an average position based on all bets) etc.

Live Com and Updates: BSC Young Boys vs Palace
Win this and we win the Uhrencup.:lux:
However if we win on penalties again us and BSC will on the same points so I don't know how they would decide the winner whether its goal difference or on head-to-head.
Going by Hodgson's comments after the Luzern game I think we will see a stronger side for longer and less substitutes.
I would like to see Guaita start this one.

Excel Help
I usually use google for most excel problems but I am having trouble with the terminology to find the solution
I essentially want everything one person spends calculated each month
A1 B1
Adam £15
Matthew £16
Adam £8
John £12
Adam £60
How can I get it to calculate on a table what each is spending as in input it each time for a front page tab table?
Adam £83
Matthew £16
John £12
Or if you can help me with the correct terminology so I can use google to find the solution as I am sure it is pretty simple.

The Right to Die with Dignity
Dear Fellow BBSers
A very good friend of mine was diagnosed 5 years ago with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). He is in his mid-40s and has always been a very active and fit person. Needless to say the diagnosis hit him and his family hard - he has a wife and two teenage daughters. However, he has fought the illness every step of the way and whilst his mobility is diminishing he is determined to leave a mark on the world.
He is doing this in various ways but the latest and definitely most challenging is the launch of a high court challenge to the outdated right to die laws. He is a lover of life and continues to strive to stay as well as possible despite the relentless illness. He is determined, however, to campaign to legalise assisted dying for people like him, so everyone has the freedom to make a choice towards the end of their life.
Over the last week, the case has generated significant media coverage on radio, TV and in the newspapers. He was able to raise £20k in a matter of a few days via Crowd Justice to indemnify him and his family against any costs arising from the initial request for a review of the evidence.
I have been keeping in close contact with him and it is a gruelling process but I met him today and his spirits are high and today was a landmark day for him as the the court papers were lodged as the first part in this process.
I'm not posting this to raise money for his cause (although any contributions would be welcome to him) but more to raise awareness of the cause as I also believe strongly in the principle of what he is trying to achieve. Apologies in advance to anyone who doesn't share this view as I know it is a highly personal and emotive issue.
Anyway, more information for those interested can be found here To view the link you have to Register or Login

3 Teams you Want to go down next season
They dont have to be likely. For me it would be Brighton, Chelsea and City
Whats the worst thing about your job?
I have had to sack the third person in three days today. I hate putting someone out of work, but safety of the rest of the team come first. It guts me.
I can think of wosre things by far, imagine having to knock on a door to inform them a loved one is dead for instance.
What is the worst thing you have to do for your job.
I fully expect sacking someone to be way down the list.

Spoiler: Covent Garden
Just moved work from square mile to Covent Garden. Finding it extremely busy and expensive to grab lunch.
Used to know a few places in the mile where you could get pub grub and a pint for £8 (Cheshire Cheese), street food (Fenchurch Street Station) around £6, Pizza Union for £6, a few little sandwich shops etc.
Convent Garden is like £12 for a pint and a toasties. Just a big tourist trap. Any little gems in the area?
Cheers.
Used to know a few places in the mile where you could get pub grub and a pint for £8 (Cheshire Cheese), street food (Fenchurch Street Station) around £6, Pizza Union for £6, a few little sandwich shops etc.

New contract for Benteke
No fee required. Scored yesterday, looks sharp. Even Hennessey says he is on fire in training. Surely we should at least be offering him an extension? After Zaha he is our most important attacking player. Would be worth a transfer fee if on a long term contract. Not sure he would sign, but hope we are at least considering it.
Rumour: Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne
Linked with Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne along with Brighton. Don't know much about him but has a very good scoring record. Would definitely take him if he is available, based on stats alone!

Divorce financial settlement
I'm hoping we have enough legal knowledge on the BBS to answer me a question.
I separated from my wife in November 18 and we had a financial agreement drawn up which neither of us took legal nor financial advice on - it was a 50/50 split of everything. The premise was that the marriage was over and we split, and we'd divorce on 2 years separation in Nov 2020. Monies where handed over except for the pension part which requires a pension sharing order issued by the court.
After signing that financial agreement I discovered that she actually had an affair on the go so I changed my mind and started proceedings for unreasonable behaviour (she won't admit adultery). My solicitor asked if I wanted to put forward the financial agreement and turn it into a court order as it wasn't legally binding because there was no legal and financial full disclosure, that would cost about £1000-£1500. We agreed not to since she is the one waiting on the pension sharing order, I would only be paying for a solicitor to pay her more money. Let's see if she does it.
My question is, what if she doesn't? We calculated that I have to hand her 37% of my pension pot to make a 50/50 share of accumulated pensions. I have agreed to this as much as it disgusts me, but scenarios could play out, such as what if she waits 5 years before claiming - if the divorce is completed can she claim for the pension I paid in whilst divorced from her or would this be accounted for? And what if I she never does? Can I then withdraw my whole pot on 55 years old and spunk it all away (hide it) then do the order myself so that she gets 37% of nothing?
Ultimately it'll be a case of legal advice, but if somebody actually knows this stuff then it can help me plan.
Cheers legal eagles

Heir Hunters
Anyone know much about these firms or used them? I've had them contact me today reference a share of a deceased distant relatives estate. They've obviously done some homework on it as they know quite a bit about my family. No upfront fee but 20% + vat of anything I get.
Arsenal transfer strategy - genius or bizzarre
I’d like to kick this one off with a vote for slightly bizarre.
With a quoted budget of 45m they have so far invested c£6m on Martinelli who is a development project not ready to play yet, Saliba for £26.5m who they are apparently then loaning back so won’t be available this year. That’s £32m of their budget already gone, £13m left and no defensive additions yet.
Either they are looking down the back of the sofa and in old coat pockets to rustle up a bit more cash to top up or expect to be able to off load some of the crap players they have in their squad at the moment to other teams - presumably someone who has never seen them play - in order to raise the over £100m required to complete on the 2 players they have already bid on plus whatever they bid as an afterthought any other defensive players.
I am wondering if they are going for the “we know our defence is crap but we can score more than you so it doesn’t matter” strategy
Who’s going to break first Emery or Kroenke, how long before the fans start to get restless and does anyone else think this feels like an episode of that US series Soap.

Ticketing pricing
Noticed for the season ahead the pricing for catagory B and A have gone up. Dont understand why when there has been no upgrade in the performances or the squad

I believe that is a decent source for actually signed players (well, it should be anyway). So it will update as and when - so at 9th June
Us - nowt really.
Bournemouth - 1 signing of note, Kelly, potentially very good one.
Arsenal - snigger. I wouldn't normally bother looking at the bigger clubs but...
Villa/Sheff/Norwich - lots of random seeming ones, but Sheff Utd look very light.
Burnley - nothing of note?
Everton - other than making Gomes permanent? Some guy from Huddersfield.
Leicester - looks great
Newcastle - nothing new for the Toon.
Saints - Adams looks interesting. Other than that. Meh.
Watford - **** off Dawson.
West Ham - no idea, nor have they.

Anyone use this?
I've earned about £15 so far.
Wondering if other people have used it and gone with the adventurous investment type.

Getting rid of manbetx sponsor from shirt
Is this possible? I've just seen that we're flogging last season's away kit for £15, and I think that is jolly good value. The sponsor totally ruins it for me though.
If I put it on a hot wash or iron over it, how likely is it that I can peel it away? And is it likely to leave a big mark?

Rumour: Adama Soumara
Reported tonight in French media that 27 year old Lille Captain and centre half is a target for Palace and Everton. He currently plays alongside Jose Fonte.
Gym Music
Anyone else find that they like music at the gym which they’d never listen to outside of it? Guns N Roses, AC/DC, System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, even Linkin Park. Basically, I can’t stand simplistic hard rock outside of the gym, but in there, it’s just good for pushing through a final set.
Rumour: Edson Alvarez
Another HITC article but does reference a credible Dutch source.
In the price range and sounds a talent but only have to beat Ajax, West Ham and Watford to his signature :p

Clubs that punch above their weight
As in clubs that appear to continually achieve probably a bit more than you would expect. We are absolutely one of them, and I'm not just talking about the last couple of years. Over 40 years without dropping into the third tier is extraordinary when you realise that there's only about 6 or 7 other clubs that are included in that.
I hate to admit it, or maybe this is actually a bit of a dig, but I'm always impressed by the way that Millwall somehow manage to either retain Championship level status, or bounce back very quickly from relegation to the third tier. Their support is on one hand fiercely loyal, yet on another hand pathetic. Their home crowds often just over 10k, even though they're just a Stone Island's throw from one of the richest financial districts in the world.
Any other good ones?

Match Ticket Information: Sheffield United
Any news on ticket arrangements / Parish points for this?
I've heard it's a Sunday game now, is this correct?
I believe we'll get 3000 or so tickets for this so I can see most getting a ticket who'd like one.

Why do we never look to the future?
The signing of 31-year-old free agent Stephen Henderson following his release from Nottingham Forest this week got me thinking. Granted we needed to fill the #3 goalkeeper slot, but is there really no-one better, younger and on similar wages who we could bring in and develop over the next 2/3 years until Guaita/Henn move on?
We must've known for some time now that Jules was intending on leaving (or retiring given his age), so where is the planning?
It got me thinking about our long term vision, if we even have one. Over the past 2/3 years, Sorloth aside (who's been a disaster), who have we signed with a view to developing for the future? The only player I can think of his Jairo Riedewald, but let's be honest he was a FdB signing rather than a Dougie one and he's seemingly been disregarded already. Barring that I suppose you could include Meyer in there, but he was already relatively established.
I just look at the the likes of Bournemouth who have picked up players such as David Brooks, Chris Mepham and now Lloyd Kelly all for relatively small fees in today's market. All three (particularly Brooks) are now instantly worth a shedload more and could play in the PL for the next decade. Meanwhile we're re-signing injury prone mercenaries like Bakary Sako on ridiculous wages. I just don't see the logic.
Maybe I'm overreacting, but I just fear we're becoming another Stoke/WBA. All it could take is one bad season and we'd be stuck with a squad full of high earners who have absolutely no desire to play in the Championship. I just can't see our current 'strategy' being sustainable. There's only so long you can plug gaps before the whole thing falls apart.
Thoughts?

With such huge reductions in reoffending why not?
Sometimes Ill admit I see certain crimes and want to see the person doing it suffer. Even meet a horrible end.
But if prisons like this cut reoffending and also make many prisoners more human then cant see the argument against them.

Rumour: Fabio Borini
samedi 6 juillet 2019
Milan have put Fabio Borini on the market and Crystal Palace are preparing an offer, claim reports, with Aston Villa also interested.
The forward is no stranger to the Premier League, having already played for Liverpool and Sunderland.
He does not fit in with new Rossoneri Coach Marco Giampaolos plans, but there are few in Italy who would pay his 2.5m per year salary.
According to Calciomercato.com and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Crystal Palace are the club ready to make a genuine proposal for Borini.
Aston Villa are also in the running, but Palace seem to have the upper hand.
The Milan asking price is in the region of 15m

autographs
I used to queue to get a squiggle from a palace player, outside Selhurst.
But now you can just buy stuff off the internet,....or can you ?
10 years ago, I paid about £50 for an autograph off ebay (and I'm not an expert), but when it arrived it looked 5hlt. and when I looked closely, there was a faint pencil autograph that was obviously the template for the penned bit. Obviously gave 5hlt feedback, but they already had the wonga
Saw a programme last week where people have scanned autographs and got them printed onto photos.
Fortunately , the professionals can spot forgeries easily with the use of a magnifying glass or microscope.
Would you buy an autograph off the internet ?

Rumour: Stephen Henderson
vendredi 5 juillet 2019
Crystal Palace are interested in a deal for former Charlton and Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Stephen Henderson.
The 31-year-old Dubliner is a free agent after leaving Forest in mid-May.
And the South London Press understands that the Eagles are keen to add Henderson to their goalkeeping ranks.

Suggestion: Jayden Bogle
I'm surprised their hasn't been a thread on him yet, or even lazy journalism given we've lost AWB.
But he was tremendous last season for Derby and has feet like a winger. He'd suit our style to a tee with the full backs getting involved in the attack. He's only 18 years old so the potential is absolutely massive, he may need time to adjust but that's where we're lucky to have Joel Ward to make the transition easier.
Surely he'll be a cheaper option than Aaron's?
