photography help and camera advice

once again I turn to the bbs:supergrin: Jr Yorkshire eagle has kind of hinted she might like a camera for xmas, we have looked at a Fujifilm s9900W just wondering if there's any camera buffs (or camera shop owners lol) on here for some advice. the pics she takes on her iPad are really good and she is showing an interest
