CPFC and England

mardi 4 octobre 2016

The debate continues with CPFC fans.

Club v Country dilemma.

We want CPFC to do really well. We also want our players to be recognised by their national teams. They are, except for England.

The only way it seems, that CPFC will get player recognition is by results and beating so called "big teams" and beating them well.

Doesn't always follow though. Look at LCFC last season.

However, CPFC's 1st Team Squad does have a decent English cohort of players.

Ward, Dann, Tomkins, Kelly, Townsend, Zaha, Puncheon, Wickham, Campbell.

Of the above, 4 are full England internationals, but only 2 are regular CPFC starters with a fully fit squad of 25.

For me, it is simply performing once we cross the white line each match we play. If we do well and win games, recognition should come. However, as CPFC fans, night does not always necessarily follow day as far as the National team is concerned.

Do you agree?
