After yesterday's heroics, it got me thinking of great Palace comebacks (or late late shows from yester year) A few Spring to mind.
Walsall away in 2002 (a few days after the 5-0 win over the weed):supergrin: we were trailing 3-1 after about 50 mins before Freedman and an AJ brace (to complete his second hat-trick) saw a superb comeback. One of AJ's goals on the night was world class.
Notts Country away in 1992. (Who I believe were managed by Warnock at the time) We were two nil down before cookie stabbed home a late goal to go in at the break a goal behind. Mark Bright levelled matters with a near post volley, before Nige saved a Mark Draper penalty, and Mortimer completed the comeback with a looping header into the away end.
Bolton away 2000. Bolton were a good team at the time, and always seemed to turn us over, and this saw the debut's of Staunton and the second debut of Freedman who had returned to the club from Forest. Trailing 3-1 with just minutes to play, Freedman and Morrison scored late goals to level matters. I'm also sure this came a matter of days after Alan Smith publicly criticised Morrison and put him on the transfer list (I may be wrong on that one)
Blackburn in the play-offs deserves a mention. Trailing 3-1 from the first leg, we comprehensively won 3-0 after extra time to secure our return to the top flight.
Sheffield United away September 1995? Sure we were 2-1 down with a matter of minutes to play and Deano popped up with a brace (one being a stunner) to complete a thrilling comeback.
Any others?
