Thought we got the tactics wrong, as we should have gone 4-5-1 away to a strong Southampton side. But the game showed why half of those who played today won't be here next season. Not the end of the world losing:

Mariappa 4 Way out of his depth
Ward 7 Actually had a decent game
Mutch 4 His level is the Championship.

Mccarthur 6 Good to see him get some more minutes under his belt
Puncheon 8 MOM excellent goal, and superb ball to Gayle that should have been an assist
Gayle 6 Should have scored, but very bright. Great to see him playing well.
Adebayor 5 Technically good, but doesn't affect games.

Puncheon and Ward proved their credentials. Real fight for places for FA Cup Final. Whatever happens, a good transfer window in the summer with lots of departures and arrivals is a must.
