Discussion: Are we going to leave it too late again?

vendredi 27 mai 2016

Article today in the Croydon Advertiser with quotes from Parish on the importance of the Summer Transfer window. (I won't link to the page because you'll just end up with a pop-up advert for lady shavers that you can't close down - disgusting site).

Anyway the key SP quotes are:

"a lot of work to do" this summer.

"We'll start making plans and put plans in place. We have another 38 games to keep our status next year and it's going to be as tough as ever."

"There are a lot of good teams and clubs will be strengthening in the summer,"

"We have got to do the same and look at games which didn't go our way this season and see what we can improve.

"Josh and David have got to know the manager and the team and they wanted to be part of it, a winning team.

"They want to be part of our journey and hopefully we'll work together and get a better team."

Now some of this sounds very promising, but to me this reads like we haven't started making or putting any plans in place at all yet. Surely other clubs will already be making approaches?

Are we going to leave it too late and end up with a scatter-gun list of names dismissed by Pardew on 31 August? Have we not learnt from January?

Or am I being overly concerned and read this out of context?
