Match Updates: Brighton v Newcastle tonight .

Not sure if I want them to draw or Newcastle to win , Still enough games for both to fall into the play-off places .

Howay The Lads!

BIG game for the weeds tonight against 'tinpot' Newcastle.

Slow BBS?

Is it just me who's found the glorious BBS to be a wee bit slow since Saturday?

Every other site I visit works just fine but loading pages on the BBS is significantly slower than normal - even when most of you lot are sleeping and the place is a barren wasteland.

UFC Thread

Any other UFC fans on here? Surprised there isn't a thread on this already. Iv'e been watching every UFC card religiously for about the last 8 months and I can honestly say that I think its way out in front of boxing on so many levels, it just hasn't got the global popularity of boxing, which I can only assume is because its a much newer sport.

For any non UFC fan reading this, watch UFC 209 on BT Sport (from 1 am Sunday morning) and you will see how much more exciting it is compared to boxing. Not just the main fight on the card either, the whole card is worth watching. If you think UFC is just a couple of men rolling around on the floor, you will be surprised how its moved on since the early UFC days where that was more the case.

Who else is looking forward to 209, and who are you backing?

Rocket league

Anyone play this on PS4?

Most addictive game in years! Simple gameplay but addictive and you can play for hours or 5 mins so it's always on when I'm got a few mins to kill. Much better with people you can play with so if anyone else plays feel free to add me and we can have a few good games

£20 to bet - help

long story short, bet on Leicester to win yesterday (15/4 seemed to good to miss).

Then with 30s to go I cashed out to win a betfair bonus bet. I now have ~£20 to bet by 22:00 tomorrow but has to be on odds of 6/5 or more.

Bet can be split - any suggestions?

Almost tempted to put it all on Brighton to almost guarantee they don't win :D

Match Updates: Leicester vs Liverpool 27th Feb 2017

Here's hoping that Leicester don't get a 'bounce' from sacking CR.

Crystal Ball vs Baggies

Apologies for such an early thread but an away for three weeks so will put my predictions for the the next three games here.
WBA 2 Palace 1 . Dawson and Rondon for them, Zaha for us, 25,651.

Palace 0 Spurs 2, Kane and Eriksen, 25,001

Palace 1 Watford 0, Beneteke, 24,856

Allardyce so far

Have written up an article on thoughts on Allardyce so far and how the numbers compare with Pards (warning - pretty stat heavy and quite long).

As most people have guessed, the attack is functioning less well, but there are signs the defence has improved despite the shambles vs Sunderland, which leaves room for some optimism.

Have a read and let me know what you think.

Talksport

...I think Ray Wilkins had a liquid lunch.

I'll be surprised if he makes it to the end of the show.

Players Going Down Too Easily....

Contentious one this but....I'm going with it!

So, on Saturday (Boro at home) it was clear that Wilf particularly, and not for the first time, was going down time after time, just a light shoulder and he was on the floor. Yes, we all want to win and every time Wilf enters the penalty area I think, maybe he can get a pen but not EVERY time he enters the penalty area! I really think that this was in the back of the refs mind when he gave Jimmy Mac the yellow after the Downing challenge in the second half. He really has to think about how he uses this tactic in his game...I personally would like to see less of it.

Adblocker

I have been using Adblock for years now but it seems a lot of websites are cottoning on and not allowing access to pages if you are running it.

Is there an Adblocker that still works universally or are the days of advert free browsing over?

Health and safety gone mad

Took my 7 yr old to school this morning the roadswere damp as it rained last night, got in the playground and some boys started to have a kickabout before the bell went when the teacher came rushing out of her classroom shouting you can't play football the balls to wet and might hit someone.I remember my school days thats all we done before school breaktime and down the park afterwards (jumpers for goalposts).

Pre Game Build Up

Noticed the club has tried a few things for the Pre Game Build up, quite enjoyed the montage and The Jam's - A Town Called Malice ringing out before Glad All Over.

However noticed they have changed it again, and whilst I like the "I get knocked down, but I get up again" which sums up our current plight, I am not sure what the music is that comes on after that. Doesn't really get me pumped up like the other two songs but if it works for anyone else fair enough!!

Letting Agents Gone Bust

I'm after advice from anyone in the know please.

I rent a property through an agent... The AST is in the name of the tenant and the agent.
She paid the rent last month to the agent as usual but he hasn't paid me. He's claimed his bank account is frozen. Anyway companies House showing his company now dissolved.
I guess I've been knocked for the months rent but any advice on cancelling the AST and getting her deposit back would be welcome.

Cheers

When in Ashgabat

It is time, yet again, to seek assistance from the well-travelled BBS.

In about three weeks time, Mrs Maidstoned and I are off to Ashgabat for a long weekend. I'm therefore looking for recommendations of things to see, places to go, general good stuff and possibly bits to avoid (overrated / hideously expensive / just plain rubbish).

Away you go. TIA

Boro team coach vandalised?

Just seen a message on another forum from a Boro fan who claims their team coach had £40,000 worth of damage done to it after the game. Unfortunately they flew down and had borrowed the coach from us just for the airport transfer!

Is this true? Haven't seen any mention of it on here so seems dubious.

Bill Paxton -passed away

Due to surgery complications.

I have a signed Aliens poster on my wall. Signed by him, Sigourney and James Cameron. He was my favourite character from the film, and had the best lines.

HF Display v Boro

Unbelievable atmosphere from Palace fans yesterday. The chairmen put it down to the fans as much as the players. The Palace spirit was on full show yesterday, fans and players battling together. Hope to have another display ready for the Watford game. Roll on West Brom :p

Relegation battles

As always in the run in. The relegation battles are key to staying up.

No wonder they are called 6 pointers.

There are 14 of these games still to go. I've included Bournemouth as they are in free fall.

Palace only have 2 of these battles left. Both at home.

Others have.

Palace...............2
Bournemouth.....4
Swansea............4
Leicester............4
boro..................4
Sunderland.........5
Hull...................5

This means there are 42 points up for grabs in these games and both teams can't win.

Its these games that are going to define the teams that go down.

spurs game

Has spurs game been re arranged yet, or anyone know what week it could be.

In fact no., I think I did cry a bit
At full time that is. When the whitstke went?! Fhck me did anyone see the tev blow up? He kind of leaves black, blew his whistle as if to say 'there u go place .... I've been a **** but there's ya 34 points' ahhhh
I missed Stoke, I missed Southampton so was the first league game I've seen ud win at selhurst since Norwich 1-0 last season. What a ****igng incredible Tmogohere, a proper palace atmosphere .... 1at 1st whistle till the last, briiliiabt from the favs and the players texlonddd (as they ******* should)
Love all of do

Sakho thread closed

Why?

1.5 points per game average 12 games left = 6 wins

Hopefully all home wins otherwise we need results at WBA and Saints away. The other away games are bonus point games. Still tough but good win to start our 13 cup final games run in.

Breaking News in Surrey...

Two jailed after crack found between drug dealer's buttocks during Surrey Police operation

Headline from tonight's Surrey Mirror online.

Made me laugh anyway.

fair play to mr. parish

PVa, Sakho and Luka were the three best players on the pitch today.

Transfer window definitely improved us.

Set piece delivery

Absolutely shocking today
As they have been for a little while

It's fine against Boro but if we are going to get points off bigger clubs we need to be nicking goals from corners and free kicks

Townsend's delivery isn't good enough from dead ball situations
If puncheon is going to be on the pitch why isn't he taking them?

Mamadou Sakho

Was great today, showed up some here for sure if he plays like that each week

Trialist: Two youth keepers on trial

Bartosz Mrozek (17) from Lech Poznan and Maksymilian Boruc (15) from IFK Värnamo.

Remaining fixtures

Looking at our rivals fixtures we have by far the toughest run from now on in.

Id kill for swansea's from now on in.

After today's game i have renewed hope, but one thing for sure we may need a couple good results 1x draw and 1x win against the big boys,

Don't want to be going to old trafford needing a result.

The HF were truly magnificent

Yes the players put a shift in and ultimately the guys on the pitch won the game BUT anybody who was in the ground from around 2:15 would have seen the energy , noise and backing the HF lads gave the players in the warm up , this carried over as the ground filled up and was non stop support for the team once the game kicked off , you lads in the HF did yourselves proud and you did the club proud , today you were the true driving force of the club and through your efforts set us up for VICTORY

take a bow lads you were truly magnificent .

LA based fans

I'm going to be in LA next saturday, and wondered where would be the best place to go to watch the game v West Brom.
Any Palace fans in LA that have any suggestions? Where do you normally watch games? Cheers

Player Ratings And Reviews: Constructive criticism post Boro

Abolutely over the proverbial about our win
If we can sort things that still aren't quite right we will be absolutely fine though so why not discuss:
1) Wayne H has errors in him still. When is Steeeve back?
2) set piece delivery really poor. Nicking goals his way is going to be crucial against big teams. If Punch is on the field, why would you ever have him not taking them? Townsend (and Cabaye) delivery is poor
3) Not enough support in and around Benteke still... We need aren't back. Im not convinced that Punch / Cabaye are going to deliver the assists and goals we need
Thoughts?

Ref today

This tw@t could have cost us the game on another day, multiple penalty decisions given against us.

Don't worry about a thing, 'cause every little thing's gonna be alright

Bloody brilliant singing at the end :lux::lux:

Let's not run away with ourselves but for tonight let's just enjoy the moment!!

Player Ratings And Reviews: Middlesborough

Beat GF to it.

Luka MOTM for me credit to Sakho, PVA and wilf, Andros also seems a different player under Sam. Benteke ram the channels and actually caused mayhem today. Punch was reasonable still a few iffy moments but largely better.

Death of the Diesel car ,RIP

To view the link you have to Register or Login

The end is nigh it seems .
I certainly wouldn't buy a new diesel car after Graylings qoutes .

The transport secretary has said drivers considering buying diesel cars should take a "long, hard think".

Chris Grayling made the remarks to the Daily Mail, which said the government was considering a scrappage scheme for older diesel cars.

Concerns over nitrogen dioxide (NO2) emissions from diesel vehicles have been raised in recent years.

The Department for Transport said Mr Grayling was not telling people to stop buying diesel vehicles.

It declined to comment on reports of a new scrappage scheme

Discussion: Should we go back to basics

Personally I don't feel many of our high profile transfers have been value for money recently .

Benteke , Townsend , Cabaye , Mandanda , Remy , Tomkins were all in a way making a backward step in their carears . Even with the best intentions I just don't think that they have the same desire as players who are stepping up or perhaps appreciate the chance of playing in Premier League . Dann McArthur Puncheon Ward Ledley Murray, Jedinak , Delaney etc all have made big contributions to us ( even if some are struggling of late ) . Even Sakho is a risk having been at a huge club and on massive wages .

There are good hungry players to be found and I think that is the way forward for us

Could someone video/take photo of Chocky half time screen>

If anyone gets a chance and presuming the club are true to their word, there should be a message about Chocky displayed on the screen sometime during half time and as we're in the family stand we can't see it. Appreciate it if anyone gets a still or video clip of it. Should also be a message in the programme.

Advertising the club overseas

TFL Penalty Charge Notice

I got a penalty charge notice in the post today for doing a prohibited left turn on a red route last Thursday, with a nice little picture of me sat in the van. It's a road I used to drive along years ago and always made a left at the lights but haven't been down that way for years, so didn't realise it was no left turn. Anyway the PCN says "The alleged contravention was seen and observed by camera operator number 155 who was observing real time pictures at the time stated and has been recorded on digital storage media". So I hold my hands I am going to have to pay it.

The only problem is the following day Friday I did exactly the same left turn because I didn't realise it was prohibited. So do I read from that bit I quoted that there is some bloke sat in an office somewhere looking at the cameras real time and he spotted me doing a left, hence the ticket. Or is there some poor sod who sits there reviewing all the camera tapes all day, looking for offences or is there something that flags up people doing illegal turns and I am likely to get another ticket in the post for Fridays offence?

Bets Vs Boro

What you gonna put ya cash on then ?

Zaha to score 1st and a 2-1 win @ 80/1

Going down-who cares?

Been going since 1970 and always been traumatized by the relegations but don't know about anyone else but this season seems different.Ive had enough of losing every week, overpaid players, the way the club is chasing the dream, and the whole premiership experience. If we go down there will be no Armageddon. We will get a huge parachute payment, the 'stars'will be sold for good money and maybe we will start bringing on local talent again.4 extra home games and instead of making up the numbers at Arsenal,Spurs,Chelsea and West Ham we can invade Brentford,Reading,Fulham and QPR.Oh and we can see a few wins!We are still a great club but this is ruining us.Sod chasing the dream. The club is debt free and the only thing that will change this is paying outrageous sums for blokes like PVA and Schlupp who are hopeless let's face it.Its not the Palace way. Also are any of us comfortable paying anybody 100k a week?Lets get the old Palace back and if that means relegation I'm past caring.Only regret will be losing WIlf who deserves far better than this.

The quality of various companies' media & comms outputs

I feel almost like a Private Eye reader, who writes in to declare "I am cancelling my subscription" - even when they clearly have no intention of doing so - in starting this thread. It may be better placed as a comment on the 'Things That Annoy You' thread. (Mods - please merge if required)

I received an email today from latest@crystalpalacenews.co.uk earlier today with the subject line, [ "We have to role up our sleeves and dig out a result..." - Sam Allardyce]. The misspelling of 'roll' really infuriated me.

The evolution of language, in particular thanks to the arrival of the internet, text messaging and social media, has led to a relaxing of the traditional grammatical rules of English. As a result, I have learned to stop correcting people who misuse apostrophes or who make spelling mistakes as a result of text speak or phonetic spelling. I don't criticise BBSers for saying 'your' when 'you're' is the correct spelling, etc.

However, should the media and communications department of a major company not be held to a higher standard? What happened to proof-reading?

Has anyone else seen any similar examples? They don't have to be CPFC-related.

Allardyce frustrated with players?

Have you got a back up plan for Saturday?

For the first time in forever, I am able to go tomorrow.

But we're also booked to go and see that film about the black ladies that worked on the space programme at 7.30.

I booked it deliberately. If we win, I can sit comfortably at the Odeon in Wimbledon, watch MOTD when I get home and join in the back slapping on here.

If we lose, I can watch the film, binge on Maltesers, be properly entertained and avoid the BBS bloodletting.

Other than drinking heavily, have you got a similar plan?

When in Rome.

Sniper Elite 4

The latest version of the Sniper Elite series is a truly amazing shooter set in Italy in the Second World War.

The mission maps are vast and you are free to roam and tackle your many objectives how you want to with a vast array of weapons and explosives at your disposal to help your cause.

Each phase of the campaign takes hours to complete but the fast paced action is very varied and becomes a real game of cat and mouse once the enemy are alerted to your presence.

A good shot results in the camera switching to a bullet-cam as your bullet hits home and the damage done to your victim is shown with graphic realism on impact. (This feature can be turned off in the options).

You can hone your skills on the Shooting Range trying out different weapons at dummy targets.

There is an option to play the campaign with another co-operative player and there is also multiplayer maps for 2-12 player battles and a survival mode where you have to fight off waves of enemies.

This game is one of the best shooters that I have ever played and I have played many shooting games.

My score 10/10.

Rats.

I just witnessed a huge mother F'er walk across the back of my garden. My Mrs is freaked out. I'm pretty sure it's just using my garden as a walkway to get to next door, as he keeps racing pigeons. It was about a 100ft from my house. Should I do something, if so what? It would need to be dog/child friendly.

Or am I being a snowflake, should I man up and accept it as part of living in a semi rural area?

It's their time! (apparently)

Brighton mob produce motivational video ahead of the next couple of months.

Are they jumping the gun too soon being only 4 points ahead of 3rd place Huddersfield? Might they end up with egg on their face.

What do you make of the video?

I'd LOVE for them to slip up again, as we all would. It seems unlikely but, BUT.....

Guess the black cab ride price.

So tonight was flying in from Geneva to London city, but flight was cancelled and I was sent to Heathrow instead.

BA customer service told me to get a black cab home and claim it back.

So:
830pm from T5 Heathrow to Orpington (about 45 miles)
No traffic
Didn't stop once.

Guess how much it cost in a black cab?

(Would have taken an uber but was an hour's wait)

Brave Decision By Leicester - Why Can't We Follow?

Leicester have tonight taken the brave decision to sack Ranieri, why can't PARISH and his cronies admit that they have TOTALLY ****ED UP appointing ALLARDYCE.

TIME TO GO

Ranieri.

Looks like he has been relieved of his duties, it will be nice to hear the thoughts from Leicester1.
What are the thoughts of his sacking on here ?

Joey Barton's view on Pardew and Warnock

Now I know Joey Barton is no role model in fact his behavior against Lincon was unforgivable and I don't necessarily like him but his book is VERY Good and gives a great insight to the goings on in the dressing room.

THIS IS WHAT HE SAID ABOUT PARDEW AND WARNOCK
Upon Pardews appointment at Newcastle....." Alan Pardew had done nothing to earn this job, rumours about his personal life spread like wildfire between players at different clubs. He was an arrogant wannabe playboy in a toyboys Ferrari"

On Warnock at QPR ...."Neil Warnock is a man manager pure and simple, the only way he could be a coach is if you took his teeth out and installed a set of seats in his mouth"

In fairness to Barton he does go on to say that despite Pardews ridiculous dance at Wembley he was one of the better managers he played under, good man management and interesting training.

Fire Emblem Heroes

Anyone else playing?

As a Fire Emblem fan it is nice to just be able to pick up and have a couple of battles whilst out and about. I appreciate not everyone will know much about the series but definitely worth a look.

Loads of characters already and plenty of room to expand the game as time goes on.

New HF Scarf

We have just released a new HF scarf which will be available outside the HF storeroom in the Holmesdale concourse on Saturday, £15. If you haven't got access to the stand, message me and I'll bring a couple to the Holmesdale pub before the game. We rely heavily on Palace supporters getting HF merch from us as this funds all our displays. Talking of displays, we are currently working on something for Saturday (smaller scale) to help get that connection and togetherness back at our club, and to set the mood nicely for what will be a massive game.

See you all on Saturday :p

An Evening With Maidstoned Eagle

Might be of interest. Only £100 a ticket And the money goes to a good cause. Me.

One word of warning though. This is not set up as a Q&A session, so I don't think you can bowl along there expecting to yell out questions as to why I'm not shaving your knadgers - The questions are primarily being asked by 80's sexpot Bella Emberg (who will then take part in a live session on stage with me)

There will be a raffle, the winning prize is an all inclusive scrotum shave and massage session, 2nd prize is the same, only with a blunt razor.

Music to be supplied by a man plugging his phone into a speaker and finding the German porno music playlist on Spotify.

Has anyone bought stuff in the US and used this service?

They basically act as a US address and then ship stuff to the UK for you.

New Artwork At The Holmesdsle

New Palace artwork has gone up in the Holmesdale over last weekend as painted and designed by the HF.

Great to see a local pub put this on for the fanbase given the situations local pubs have and its fight to stay open. Hopefully they'll be more of us that get down to the pub in the future. :p

The Holmesdale is open from 11am against Boro to all Palace fans.

Fingers crossed we get 3points on Saturday. The positivity starts here!

One word of warning though. This is not set up as a Q&A session, so I don't think you can bowl along there expecting to yell out questions as to why we aren't heading for a Champions League spot - it would appear that the questions are primarily being asked by Sky Sports presenter, Simon Thomas.

Pensions

Ok a boring post but I would welcome some advice from more knowledgeable Eagles than me.

At the grand old age of 32 I have no pension and this is something I really need to remedy as there's no way I want to be working when I'm 70! I am self employed and therefore really have no idea where to start.

Does anyone else have any experience or advice? (Other than marry a rich man, lol!) would you go through a broker or try and go it alone?

Thank you!

Right then you miserable lot!

It's time to get BEHIND the team for this Saturday. This is a massive game for us and one we simply have to win.

We can continue to be miserable and get on the players backs, or we can be upbeat, positive and vocal and get right behind the team to help them get three much needed points.

Just maybe, all we need is a positive result and that may just spur us on and keep us up!

So come everyone, lets get right behind them and stuff Boro on Saturday!!

Manchester

I know it is fashionable to comment on how grim it is up north, but just spent a couple of days in the city and thought it was great. A real buzz about the place, so much of the old run down industrial areas have been/are being rebuilt, great places to eat and drink, thriving music scene, trams everywhere, biggest student population in Europe. Is is possible to set aside our hatred of one of the teams and distaste for the other and just enjoy the city itself or should I hang my head in shame?

This season compared with QPR's 2012-13 relegation season

It's been said by many of us that currently the club feels disconnected from us, certainly from the pitch to the stands. The players lack grit, determination and heart to grind out results. Our transfer policy is haphazard and relies heavily on signing 'big name players' who are taking a step down to join us, and the feeling at the club from the top just over a year ago was that we were an established Premier League club who could be challenging for Europe.

A lot of us were apprehensive and nervous about this sort of talk. Comparisons were made with Charlton, and most recently QPR. I thought I'd have a look at the squad that QPR had from their 2012-13 relegation season, which was worse points wise than the last relegation.

Some recognisable names are there, and comparisons can certainly be made by the types of players they had in the squad when you call into question supposed ability but lack of fight. What does everyone think about this, judging by their results, form and final league position? Are we the 2017 version?

If we go down, who is most to blame?

Pardew, BFS, Parish, Hennessey, the players, Millen.

And some Bollocks about giving the Government a little bit more time!!!!
Yes my axe to grind is only the other week our courts were here to safeguard democracy human rights and everything else the Politician's might **** up!!!
so what went wrong this time?

How much have you spent on palace this season ?

I'm sure more have spent more than me. Home and away as season ticket holders.

But I've flown in for six games from Istanbul. And spent a total, including tickets and spending money of 2640. I've seen three goals.

That's 880 pounds a goal.

Has anyone got a worse average than that ?

Spare ticket needed for Middlesbrough at home (25/02/17) - Home ticket

Has died.

Played for us in our first season in the 1st division.

RIP

Another extra free weekend in March - good or bad?

Spurs home game now off Sat 11 March so likely to be midweek game but possibly in April now especially if they remain the Europa League.

If we get 2 wins on the spin (unlikely though it seems) then we may have just one game from 4 March to 1 April, being Watford at home. So any momentum we get will be lost and then our awful run in with 7 games in April.

Jeez!

If any of you fancy giving her your support by listening or liking her pages that will be brilliant. I think it's the least she deserves for sitting through the 5-4 away to Swansea, 0-4 at home to Sunderland and the 1-0 away to Stoke to name a few :D

Supporters turning against the players

This has to be the first time Ive witnessed supporters turning against the Players. In the past if a player left acrimoniously I remember hate being directed towards a player. If a player was abit useless, we would probably joke about his inclusion in the squad but this animosity toward our own players wholesale is a new concept as far as Im concerned.

Hennessey, Ward, Dann, Delaney, Cabaye, Ledley, Puncheon, Townsend and Benteke are the main subjects of the supporter's vent, never have I seen so much unrest toward our team.

I dont go along with all the things people say on here on the BBS but have seen statements like:
"They dont do any training"
"They are gutless"
"They dont care"

Im not aiming this thread to be another one to moan or defend the players but question, have a section supporters turned against the majority of the team before? As seeing and hearing this is new to me.

Relegation battle 1969 -70

I guess this may have been discussed before. Apologies if it has.

While clearing out a box of old stuff, I came across a random collection of old programmes. One of them was for 14th March 1970, a home match against Southampton. Of course at this time, Palace were in a relegation battle. Although those were different times, (2 points for a win, 22 teams,42 matches and only two teams relegated), it occurred to me that there were some interesting similarities and differences with Palace’s current predicament. As of March 14th, Palace had played 34 matches won 3 games at home, drawn 4 and lost 10. The home wins were against Sunderland, Stoke and Wolves. They had just won their first away game on March 11th (1-0 at Manchester City), and had drawn 8 away and lost 8. The victory against Man City was their first win in 13 matches since November 22nd. On February 21st Palace had had a ‘four pointer must win game’ at home to Sheffield Wednesday who were bottom of the division, while Palace were third from bottom. Palace duly lost 0-2. Up to 14th March Palace were 21st and Sunderland were bottom. Even though Palace beat Southampton 2-0, Palace remained in 21st spot with 7 games left.
One of the interesting things in the programme was a column called ‘Topical Talk’ by the programme Editor, Doug Organ. In one paragraph he says;

'Nevertheless, with the Club hanging on by its finger-tips to First Division status, it might not be a bad idea if, for the remainder of the season, we reminded ourselves that “NOW IS THE TIME OR ALL GOOD SUPPORTERS TO COME TO THE AID OF THE TEAM” by giving them longer and louder cheers than ever before to show we are right behind them in their fight for points.
There have been a lot of comments, criticisms, recriminations, informed and uninformed advice about what the Club should have done or must do to survive its baptism in the toughest league in soccer.'

He goes on to quote a letter he received from a supporter.

'I know many games have been frustrating and heart breaking to the supporters as, indeed, they must have been to the team and officials. But there have been games when the team has risen above itself – that is why it has been such a mystery and a disappointment when they have fallen on a number of occasions below the standard of which they have proved they can reach.
It would be invidious to mention individuals, for all have played their hearts out and, after all their efforts, it would be cruel if they were relegated, although I don’t think they will be.'

I was trying to remember what the atmosphere at the ground was like at the time. I was 13 years old and without the BBS, you only really gathered what people thought from what people around you on the Holmesdale or others on the way back to Norwood Junction said. If I remember correctly, there was quite a lot of criticism of players’ abilities but not their efforts. Ironically, given the current situation, the one player who I think was never subject to any criticism was John Jackson. Even Steve Kember, who along with Jacko was probably one of Palace’s best players over a number of seasons, was being criticised by some fans. I can remember feeling devastated after the Sheffield Wed game, but I can’t remember if at that point I gave up hope of staying up. However, I remember the jubilation at beating Man City in the last home game of the season to stay up by a single point. In the end, Palace probably survived by grinding out some draws against better teams. Salvaging draws was probably down to Jacko’s heroic performances

Anyone have any clearer memories of this time?

B) When is best?
Tuba) anyone know their songs?

They aren't playing at home until March now - next two home games:

CROYDON F.C. VS WHITSTABLE TOWN F.C

March 11, 2017

3:00 pm

CROYDON F.C. VS CRAY VALLEY (PM) F.C.

The Croydon vs Whitstable looks a good bet for me as an initial recce. No game for Palace that day.

Can't let them go down can we?

Looking for a diehard Eagle

Hello guys,

I'm searching for your "super fan" who has lots of fun and interesting stories of following your team over the years. Also some interesting
memorabilia to show and discuss would also be good. Doesn't matter so much what is. In the past I was with John Portsmouth FC, I'm sure most of
you know the loon with the bell. I had a Spurs fan with Gazza's autograph tattooed on his hand too.

I'm sure there are plenty of you out there that doesn't miss many games.

I'm working for Danish sports Tv, a lifelong Stoke fan and have been sharing my stories throughout the years with the Danish public,
Tuesday nights at Ninian Park getting piss thrown at us, going to Israel in the Europa League and many more.

Danes love the fan culture, having grown up watching only the top teams but they know little beyond the 90 minutes on a Saturday.

And as we border the Germans, in this little kingdom, there is also a gap in the market for humour.

I am in London on the 28th February and 1st March, and I'm looking to meet a 'super fan'.
If you think you have time and the magic moments to share with me and the Danish public, I am very keen to hear.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Is every thread saying the same thing...

Pardew in too long, good/poor window, Parish passionate/misguided, state of Selhurst, next game is must win, Benteke is static, coach travel is mediocre and so on.

Just a thought....but is this helping?

It's the mistakes Stupid

Can't remember a spell with so many individual errors.

That's Pardew's legacy - the relentless individual match losing mistakes across the entire team.

Puncheon has turned attack into defence as a habit.

Dann, Delaney and Ward can be personally called out for at least half a dozen.

The less said about crap penalties the better.

And we all know about Hennessey.

RIP Dorking FC 1880-2017

To view the link you have to Register or Login

Dorking FC has sort of been assimilated by the upstarts Dorking Wanderers FC, who were formed in 1999. The 2 clubs formed the "Dorking Football Partnership" last summer and now after this season there will only be one club left.

Not really that sad, though. Football in Dorking goes on, and actually Dorking FC had not been one continous entity for all that time, was even "Dorking and Guildford FC" for a while.

Top 5 on your bucket list

mercredi 15 février 2017

I have a short attention span, so the top 5 on my bucket list changes quite regularly. However, there are a few 'stayers'.

1. To see more of the world
2. To ride the Isle of Man TT course on a racing-type bike. Not necessarily at racing speed.
3. To be able to give an absolute beating to former antagonisers and get away with it. (a bit churlish, but then I'm like that)
4. Five girls lined up , naked, on hands and knees. At least one of them is talking northern. One by one. And back again. Front and back.
5. err, and number 4 ,..again

Jobs are increasing but they must be pretty poorly paid for the "one third" figure in the second link.

One third of the working population, the JAMs of the UK, are apparently too are now likely to fall into the poverty category.

This is a truly awful figure that is yet another badge of shame for this terrible government.

The list of bad things is getting longer:

NHS crumbling away, and being privatised by stealth.
Prisons out of control
Social care in disarray and horribly underfunded
Hate crime doubling since the referendum
A depleted police force
Our defence up the creek
Education cuts
Housing crisis

It has been bad before in my long lifetime, but never anything like this.

Jedinak

Just seen Aston Villa are on a seven game winless run, Jedinak has been out injured.

After getting lots of initial flack and mixed reviews, many of their fans are desperate for his return, many citing his leadership skills.

Since he joined, they haven't won a game where he hasn't started.

This is not a thread suggesting his return, but does reinforce the importance of a player of his character and style. Really hoping Luka will be our man.

A final plea to the manager and a final pledge to the players

mardi 14 février 2017

Firstly, a plea to you Big Sam:

PLEASE GIVE THE PLAYERS A CHANCE TO DIG US OUT OF THIS MESS

It's no good banging on about being defensively solid, and putting out teams for a boring 0-0. We need wins now, and at least 6 of them. After the next 3 home games we have very tough fixtures. You have to give the players a chance to put the wins on the board. That means classy attacking players like Remy can't be brought on after 80 mins and be expected to rescue us. We must have enough attacking personnel on the pitch from the start. We need to go at teams from the start. If we go a goal down early, at least we have time, and the players on the pitch, to equalise and then push on for the winner. We have better players than we had even under Pardew. Pretty much the entire squad will be fit for Boro. No excuses. At least try to give us a fighting chance. Have no regrets.

Secondly, a pledge to the players:

WE WILL BACK YOU ALL THE WAY

The win at Bournemouth was my favourite game for many years, because it evoked memories of the famous Palace spirit. When the chips are down the hardcore supporters will get behind you. We will not let you down. For example I (and I am sure many others) will be at as many away games as possible from now until the end of the season, as well as every home game. We will redouble our efforts. We are at the proverbial cross roads and we will back you to the hilt. We will be with you every step of the way. Firstly because we are some of the best supporters in the country. And secondly because we believe in the talent you have. Wilf, please stop moaning to the referees and getting involved in spats with opposition players. We can all see the injustices happening on a regular basis. Every single game the opposing full back should have been booked in the first ten minutes, and you are turned down for blatant free-kicks by the referee in every game too. But you can't let that put you off your game. You are already a Palace legend. You now have an opportunity to become a club great. To leave a legacy that no-one else will be able to match. You have the talent to do it. To score the goals and produce the assists required. We will be with you. COYP.

Just imagine...

Palace stay up and Brighton **** it up... :afro:

Rent Boys - advice needed

To supplement my meagre income I am considering becoming a rent boy, part time.

However, I was hoping most of you could help me with pricing policy and etiquette, for instance;

Can I insist on just receiving and not giving?
How clean does ones bottom need to be? Can I charge extra for an unclean ring?
Is spitting allowed?

Also, are amusement arcades still recognised pick up points or is it best to have an online presence nowadays?

Zzzzzz... Are our squad just boring?

We've tried everything and brought in talented footballers and yet seem to be incapable of winning a game. Are we simply devoid of personality?

Everyone's worked in one of those boring environments with no fun, no charisma, no excitement, no spirit.

Have we somehow managed to create a squad with zero personality, full of bores, and coming to work is a chore?

Strikes me that I wouldn't want to get stuck in a lift with virtually any of our players.

Is our problem that with this bore draw of a team we haven't got the team spirit to win games and get momentum?

iPhone help please

I'm not an iPhone person but I did setup my mate's a couple of years ago. I also managed to get his favourite ringtone on the phone which involved a fair bit of sodding around.

Unfortunately I did the ringtone setting up on my laptop so when he plugs it into a USB port it has my name associated with the phone instead of his.

He now has a new laptop and wants me to set it up so the iPhone is seen as his rather than mine. How do I achieve that without his music and photos (and ringtone) being wiped out?

I've googled this but I'm still not sure. I read somewhere that the phone has to re-registered which could wipe out personal data.

Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

"Killer Uber Arctic Blast" to hit the UK in days.

A similar headline in the Daily Express appeared two weeks ago, and it never happened. Well we did have a couple of days of frost, and the air direction did come from the east for around three days, but that was about it.

Why they keep doing this is a mystery. The only reason I can see is that on the day of these made up headlines they just sell a few more newspapers.

Mandanda- when is he back?

dimanche 12 février 2017

Could be the difference for us this season imho

The season starts now

There is to a lot of in fighting and disagreement between fans at the moment, and for my own sanity I don't want to comment on those, but I think most fans are agreed on two things. Firstly, we have a talented squad possibly the best in our history, and secondly that their confidence levels are incredibly low and as low as we've seen in recent times. I think we are also all in agreement that unless the players confidence levels improve then we have no chance of staying up.

Only the players can get us out of this mess, but we the fans can play our part. The squad will be on a training camp for the next week which might form the most important week of our season. Fortunately I am not in BFS's head, but I imagine the key message he will give at the bonding camp is that what's happened to date has passed and should be forgotten, and now is the time to stand up and get the season started.

It might not be one of HF's most iconic displays, but maybe we should be re-ittering that message when the players come out for our next game - our biggest since Norwich last season. We have great loyal fans and in this time of despair we need to show the players that we are still behind them and more importantly that we have confidence in them.

Big Sam England Manager

Do you think Big Sam would have made a good England manager ?

Don't play it again Sam.

making clean sheets the focus for our team is laughable. Allardyce has come in and got the team to play to its weaknesses and not its strengths and then wonders why the message is taking so long to get through........the reason why we can't keep clean sheets is that our back 5 is and has not been good enough for 18 months.....no matter how much midfield protection you provide if there is no natural pace, aerial strength, focus, organisation, leadership or bravery then we will always conceded goals.......
Even if a miracle happened and we kept 13 clean sheets on the trot with our current goal to game ratio we still would not amass enough points to stay up this year.....even at Sunderland where SA was hugely praised for keeping Sunderland up his team only managed 7 clean sheets out of 30 attempts......not exactly a ringing edorsement of a defensive stronghold......and don't forget after Sam arrived the black cats suffered some really heavy defeats conceding 6 and 4 in games .....add to that stat that Sundeland only started to look to have a chance of survival when Fletcher got injured and SA had no choice but to play Defoe who's goals were the real reason for survival not the myth of clean sheets.........
This team of ours is best when on the front foot looking to take the game to the opposition.......of course we need to be disciplined and organised but in all areas not just at the back...we must not continue to worry about the opposition scoring but focus more on how we can hurt them.....only then if we go a goal down will the team have the belief that we can still get points from each of the 13 games remaining.

Relegation-its all down to probability.

Some simple facts.there are 20 teams in this division.of those Arsenal,Spurs,Liverpool,Man Utd,Man City and Chelsea will never be relegated and Everton and West Ham may not be in the near future. That leaves 3 down from 12 or a 25 per cent chance of going down every season.its your club's turn when the perfect storm strikes-bad management, bad luck, injuries to key players, loss of form, loss of confidence,Afcon withdrawals, disharmony and bad signings.this season it's us but it's just round the corner for the rest of them.4 years is just about right for a club like ours I'm afraid.

History , What comes around

Having watched Palace for over 50 years where we are is no real surprise.
Whenever we have had money to spend we have wasted it, any body remember Mike Flanaghan to name one of many.
When we sell we get mugged off , Kenny Sansom , David Price etc etc.
When money was tight we came up with the likes of Andy Gray, Rachid Harcouk ,Jeff Bourne and of course AJ the list is endless.
There are always exceptions, in recent times Bolassie for instance, but was the money spent wisely, time will tell.
I know times change but look at what we have ended up with now.
Lets prey its not a QPR scenario , at the moment it looks too similar for my liking.

£85 million

According to the website Transfer Market (To view the link you have to Register or Login), we have spent £85m on our current squad. Although that is a bit lower than some estimates (e.g. Benteke is shown as £26m not £32m), it seems as accurate as any source. It is the fifth highest total spend in the league and forth highest net spend.

Did anyone in their wildest dreams think we would ever be able to spend that sort of money assembling a squad? Did anyone honestly think a club could spend so much money and end up with such a woefully underperforming bunch of players? Obviously there are many threads dealing with the probable causes but it is a stark warning of the dangers of trying to spend your way to success, which many on here wanted us to do, without dealing with some of the underlying problems we seem to have at the club.

Only 1 shot on target

I can understand minimal shots on target until the oppo score, (as it's now the crap style of football we are served,) but how are we not testing their keeper and showing more urgency to equalise.

What is BFC doing in training sessions? Go one down, start taking shots. Even if it at least puts their keeper under pressure to spill the ball or make a mistake.

1 shot on target in the whole game. Hugely disappointing!

What have we got out of the Premier League

Right up front I'm assuming we all want us to stay up but if we go down its incredible that for all that money we literally will have not alot (financially) to show for it. It suddenly hit me how for clubs like ours all you get out of the Premier League is a few big days out and bigger crowds. Its a tad worrying that for all this money all the money does indeed go to the players and there's very little left for the ground. For clubs coming up the new TV is SO big that you could make a bit of a profit in the first year or so whilst the wage bill drifts up but eventually all the TV money goes to the players and its a case of managing a break even.

As I said I definitely want to stay up and I continue to lie in bed worrying about every result but I suddenly realised that Palace coming up has meant no material ground improvements (nice cladding on the main stand but zero and I mean zero changes to my match experience), more difficulty in getting tickets for family, a few matches that genuiney aren't worth watching and are a tad embarrasing BUT on the plus side we have had a few marquee days out with my boys at Anfield etc.

All I bit odd that if we go down I'll be getting excited if we get in the playoffs etc. In summary - whats its all for :):)

Literally why do we have to just roll over and accept relegation. It's quite blatant what the problem is - Fat Sam. Why don't we at least roll the dice and make a change - what's the worst that can happen? Relegation? Well we're getting relegated anyway. Look at how Hull and Swansea have massively improved since changing manager.

It's quite clear Allardyce has been a complete disasater, 4 points from 8 games, including losses at home to both Swansea and Sunderland, the latter one of the worst performances in the clubs history, how can anyone defend that?

4 goals scored in those 8 games as well, i know Pardew had to go, but his last 8 pl games actually had the same record as Fat Sam W1 D1 L6 but we did at least look like getting results from some of them (Burnley, Swansea away and Man Utd home all last minute/close to last minute winners for them), and we also scored 14 goals. Allardyce has completely drained all attacking threat from this team.

As I say Pardew had to go but this joker clearly isn't the answer - why should we just roll over and give up when we can gamble on a managerial change, and who knows we may give ourselves a fighting chance of staying up.

Club finances

Has anyone got any idea how they are looking?
For example if we go down and sell a few big names will we have the money to rebuild or will it just go to fill a hole in the budget?

Do people go to palace for good football

samedi 11 février 2017

Don't get me wrong i love a palace win, but today was a cracking day ruined by 90 mins of shit footy and I left at 60 mins against Sunderland so I'm proper plastic. What says you the real fans

What Could/Will hurt the most ?

What would hurt the most ?

Could it be the away days at anfield ?

Could it be the trip to old Trafford

Will it be turning on soccer Saturday and palace aint there

Brighton taking our place

Away days to Bournemouth

Is Palace affecting your wellbeing ?

Well they are mine, week after week I tell myself it's going go get better after the next match. After each game I'm deflated once again and I'm a right miserable bastard until the next match. This is no life is it.
Want some closure now so we can re focus .
Role on the drop, I need my win fix.

Bad refs... or are the players naive

On top of everything else ...and not because of today.

But, are our players too honest for the premier league?
Maybe lack of a on pitch leader..

They (not zaha) should be in the refs ear about zaha getting fouled out of the game at the earliest possibility.
Complaining more in the right way about bad decisions.
All other teams seem much better at gamesmanship.. stealing yards, getting away with tactical fouls, targeting players, breaking up games, time- wasting etc etc

Or do clatenberk et al. just hate us..

SACK ALLARDYCE NOW

FAT SAM OUT

Our throw ins..

are absolutely hopeless. We only retained possession from one of our throws all game and that was when it ended up all the way back to Hennessey when taken from the half way line. From every other throw I can remember we barely had two touches before it went to a Stoke player. Towards the end of the match when we had throws in the attacking third, hardly anyone bothered to show for them, we wasted time and ended up losing possession. This isn't a new thing - it's been going on for probably years but it was particularly terrible today. Contrast that with Stoke who barely lost possession from any of theirs. I know it's not the worst aspect of today but it's so frustrating.

I don't care anymore.

I sat there today at Stoke after they scored, and thought to myself, i really don't care anymore. Im so used to getting beat every week now, ive become numb to loseing. Watching that today was painful. The players tried hard enough, but were never gonna score in a month of sundays. Our only hope today was to hang on to a point. As soon as they scored that was it. You could see it in the players faces. We are doomed im afraid. The players are shot. We will be back in the championship next season. And we won't be back for a good few years. At least we might win a few games and see some of our youth players come through.

Loic Remy

Can we afford not to start him going forwards?

Appreciate he's only recently back from injury but the quality he shows when he come on suggests we can't....

The American owners - next season

If, as looks likely, we do go down; what do people think will happen with our investors?

There will obviously be a total fire-sale of our first team (despite SP swearing blind in a talksport interview that no one will be sold). So will they decide to cut their losses at that point and move on (hopefully with the old gang coming back in to replace them).

Or will they go into serious asset stripping mode - I'm guessing that however they structured the purchase it was funded heavily by debt and on the assumption of juicy TV revenues pouring in for a number of years. So those interest payments will need to be kept up somehow.

Or lastly (and most unlikely in my opinion) will they go all out to go straight back up? I still think that would require a complete overhaul of the squad.

Any thoughts?

Will Allardyce Get us Promoted Next Season

in my opinion if we keep this dinasour we're destined for league 1 sooner rather than later

Patrick Van Aanholt

I may be on my own here but so far this guy has been diabolical imo

Weak in defence which I expected but I thought he was good getting forward?

I think I prefer Schlupp at left back, atleast he has some physicality

We need to make changes and attack Middlesbor

On paper this is one of the winnable games but if we play the same old way I doubt our chances.

They will come for a draw and we could struggle to break them down.

We need to do something different . We have played the same way for ages and keep losing.

We should play 2 up front with Remy in for Puncheon. We need to up the pace with and without the ball. Play a pressing game and really take it to them .

We know our defence is poor and to boost them and the crowd a deserved return for Speroni. Sclupp needs to be in at left back.

If we play that way the crowd would get behind the team and we would give ourselves a better chance.

Oh Steve Parish, what have you done?

Stuck by your best mate Pardew to the point where nobody can save us.

And lost the club's identity in the process.

Anderson and Ladapo upfront next season

If we go down, which is a looming probability, then we might need a rebuild focusing on our younger players coming through.

Dreher, Michael Campbell and KaiKai with two young hungry and Pacey strikers to blend in with the remanents of this season's squad that are retained.

It will be a fire sale of expensive players and we need a total rebuild.

Suggested Team and Formation For: Boro (home)

Attack!

---------------------Hennessey--------------------------
Townsend----Tomkins------Delaney-----Van Aanholt
--------------Cabaye---------Luka-----------------------
---------------------McArthur---------------------------
------------Zaha----Benteke----Remy-------------------

Somehow we've got to fit those XI onto the team sheet. We need to win and score goals. 0-0 is not good enough at this stage.

Luka

Guys I missed the game today, how did luka do?

How good / Bad is BFS

To me he has concentrated so much on the defensive side of things and completely forgot that you have to actually try to score a goal to be able to WIN a game , he sets the team up not to concede but of course we eventually do , from now on he HAS TO PLAY REMY to get us on the front foot and attack the opposition , he is coming across as a very negative manager to me , this sounds very obvious but we need to attack first , get our noses in front and THEN TRY TO SHUT UP SHOP AT THE BACK .

BFS is really getting it wrong .

Staying positive

The players need to react but we have to give a base for them to left off at home. We're not out of it yet and we shouldn't be lying down. First half today we can take a lot of positives, second half not so much.
Having someone like Luka playing as composed as he did in the centre of the pitch will be a huge plus at home and we finally look like we have a player that is going to make a pass that will cut into the opposition.

We can ******* do this!

Total shambles

For some reason I was coming round to Big Sam (fvck knows why cos we've lost nearly every game under him) but this is enough.
Zero shots on target was it today? Zero?
Puncheon still starting? I mean what the utter fvckkkkkk how can we all see it but he can't?
We've gone from being offensively good and shit defensively to shit at both.

4 points from 8 games.

1 win
1 draw
6 defeats
And we've played the poorer teams in the league under him.
That is ******* dreadful!!!!
Sack the c***. I knew he was the wrong appointment, I ******* knew it!

Defo not cuddling my mrs tonight. Need to get pissed yet again because of you palace you c****s.

I thought we couldn't get a worse Manager than Pardew .

Boy was I wrong .

Driving positive thoughts going into Stoke

Reliving the greatest goals of the decade... After which goal did you cheer or sing the loudest?

Players scared of losing at home

Read about this last night. Given our support these past few years, I hope to goodness that all we ask of our team is to leave 100% effort once they cross the white line until the end of each game. Last Saturday was the nadir of our home performances since we were promoted.

We fans support our team and we have been very patient. Last Saturday our honesty was the outpouring with our half time heartfelt chant. I sang it and it really emotionally hurt.

We can stay up and fans will back the team come what may The players should not fear giving their all. Any less than organised and intense 100% effort and we will have to rebuild and start again in the EFL Championship and the fans will back the team. The players know what's at stake.

We are CPFC. Never fear playing at home.

Onwards. COYP.

3-1 RED AND GODDAMN BLUE. 3 headers from Bentekkers and the Stoke boys are sent home crying. This starts our massive win streak right here and right now!

Flat Earth Theory

Recently this theory that the Earth is flat has been growing in popularity so I thought I'd do some research. Just finished watching a 2 hour youtube video, what a load of nonsense. Anyone here believe it?

Seagulls Culls After Brexit

Some good news for a change. After brexit seagulls will not have the protection of the EU. Therefore we can start culling them. British law protects gulls but allows them to be killed if they become a health risk That should cheer up the Brighton fans

Did anyone else feel

That at the end of the FA Cup final, the squad had hit the glass ceiling and largely needed to be overhauled?

I just had this feeling in my gut, that it was the end of the journey for a lot of that team and if we wanted to progress we'd need a complete overhaul.

Am I just re-imagining the past or did anyone else get that feeling?

Palace WILL beat the drop (according to 'experts').

Interesting that those so called 'experts' are so convinced we will. Maybe they see someone we don't. Perhaps we get so tunnel vision and reading the BBS makes us all so down and have such a defeatist attitude to our survival hopes. I'm normally a very upbeat and positive thinker when it comes to Palace. Maybe such an absurd result on Saturday (especially after last Tuesday when we were all riding high) has somewhat clouded our thought process - who knows. Maybe they just don't see us play! Maybe we should pick ourselves up and start believing again. Interesting thoughts though....

KEOWN: If it was anyone other than Sam Allardyce in charge, I'd be saying Palace were gone. If he keeps them up it will be his greatest achievement. He will be marking Middlesbrough at home at the end of the month as the match to kickstart the Houdini attempt. He will fight and scrap to get a response from these players.

VERDICT: STAYING UP

REDKNAPP: I cannot see them going down. They have too many good players and in Allardyce they have a manager who has been down this route before. His challenge is to stop Palace playing with fear. Victory in their next home game against fellow strugglers Middlesbrough would give them that belief they have lacked.

VERDICT: STAYING UP

SUTTON: Palace have spent a fortune this season and I feel a bit sorry for the owners! Allardyce has got to sort out his defence. Signing Mamadou Sakho is a risk given his lack of game time but Palace have enough going forwards. Wilfried Zaha coming back is a big plus and Christian Benteke is a handful. Allardyce has pulled off escape acts before and I feel Palace will get it together.

Electricity prices 2017

Be prepared for a shock.

NPower recently announced a 15% increase and they are my current supplier, so that meant I was going to have to switch again.

Yesterday, I carried out my usual annual research on USwitch and other energy comparison sites and discovered that they are all at it.

The best I could get was a fixed deal with SSE, but that will still mean around a 40% increase in my monthly DD. Yes 40%!

The Kilowatt per hour rate has gone up from my current 11.5p to 14.5p, and the standing daily charge from around 19.5p to 23p.

In previous years by switching, I have managed to keep the total annual costs the same or slightly less, but this year not any more. This huge rise is going to feed into the inflation rate big time for all of us.

Time wasting eBay buyer - what would you do?

Long story short sold my old Audi A3 in an auction on eBay which ended on Monday night. The advert was detailed with the condition of the vehicle and the fact the air bag warning light is on due to a faulty sensor.

Messaged the guy when he wanted the car and it was all arranged and all good.

Yesterday he messaged to say he wants 150 quid off the selling price to get the light turned off. I flat out refused on the grounds he should have factored that into the bidding price he made. He then said he wanted to "cancel his order" like he has a choice in the matter.

Roll on today and he messaged to say he wanted to "re-order" the car for the full selling price. He is coming from Essex and wants collecting from the East Croydon station.

I'm tempted to agree to get him and just not bother to show up and then message him after with some **** you style message about time wasters.

What would you do?

Another employment law thread

Can anyone advise on this situation please? My partner works for a catering company in primary schools. She is also a single mum of two kids.

Sometimes she has to take days off because one of the boys are unwell, like today. She let them know at 7am and by 3pm had a message from the are manager saying that he was trying to run a business and in all likelihood she would getting the tin tack tomorrow. There has been no discliplinary procedure and she is in a right state.

I think this is not right but she is in bits about it. Help please!

Disabled Seating

Ive seen a lot of talk about the new seating thats needed, but wondering where the actual seating will be?

If its rows 37-39 of the AW as ive read, these seats are quite high, wouldnt the TV gantry cause issues, and also when everyone stands up to see whats going on the view for disabled fans would be totally blocked?

Anyone ITK?

Webcam software for a Toshiba laptop?

I am using a 3 year old Toshiba 17" laptop and I need to take a few photos using the built-in camera.

It uses Windows 8 as a front end interface. I paid someone to tidy things up recently, but I now can't find some of the software. I am looking for the webcam software (I am pretty sure this was supplied). Alternatively, I imagine I could download a free program to do it?

I just want something easy to use. Any suggestions?

BBS 6 a side cup

Yes its back again this year!!!
We will be running the BBS 6 a side tournament again this year. The date is to be confirmed but we are expecting it to be late may. We will confirm the price and date as soon as we can. In the meantime, get the boots out, get your team together and grab your chance to play on the lovely Selhurst park pitch. :lux::lux:

Are you involved in football?

So who on the BBS is actually involved in playing or coaching football?
I manager and run an under 12 girls team, I have twin daughters who play in the team, one in defence and one in midfield. At this age they are playing 9 a side. I love coaching them and the rest of the team, enjoy the games on Sunday far more than Palace.
Hung my own football years ago, was not very good anyway and as the saying goes those who cant teach.

Nioh - PS4

out today and getting great reviews. its similar in design to the dark souls games & Bloodborne.

anyone getting it?

Palace Need To Play With Two Strikers

Palace showed in the second half on Saturday how much more of an attacking threat they pose when playing in a formation with two players up front and this should now be what they adopt.

After Remy's introduction Benteke had much needed support up the front and Palace caused Sunderland so many more problems.

They created 20 chances with 9 shots on target and but for some great goalkeeping would have reduced the deficit.

This change of formation is the way forward.

Saluting the fans

Now the relationship between players and fans seems at an all-time low.
But was the bond ever strong enough in the first place?

A small example, I have seen this watching Sparta Prague, and this example is from Huddersfield.

It shows real respect from players from players to fans and builds togetherness.

We were lucky if we even got a half hearted clap on the way to the tunnel.

Once we get out of our current mess, I want to see players doing this after every win.
