Be prepared for a shock.
NPower recently announced a 15% increase and they are my current supplier, so that meant I was going to have to switch again.
Yesterday, I carried out my usual annual research on USwitch and other energy comparison sites and discovered that they are all at it.
The best I could get was a fixed deal with SSE, but that will still mean around a 40% increase in my monthly DD. Yes 40%!
The Kilowatt per hour rate has gone up from my current 11.5p to 14.5p, and the standing daily charge from around 19.5p to 23p.
In previous years by switching, I have managed to keep the total annual costs the same or slightly less, but this year not any more. This huge rise is going to feed into the inflation rate big time for all of us.
