Relegation Rivals: who do we think will go down since the transfer window?

mercredi 4 février 2015

I had a cursory glance, and couldn't find a similar thread. Not sure it should be in GPD because I feel we are in little danger of relegation. But I know that the majority don't feel that, and it will probably be very tight at the bottom of the table come what May.

I'll have a crack:

Leicester (20): Kramaric and Huth

I feel they've bought very well. If Chelsea were after Kramaric he must have some ability, and I think he will complement Ulloa. Huth will add steel to the defence. With Mahrez, Knockaert, Vardy and Schlupp they have some real pace too. Similar team spirit to us I would imagine. I reckon they will stay up.

QPR (19): Zarate

Harry has bottled it a day after failing to land any transfer deadline day captures. They've got poor centre backs, little quality out wide, and can't win away from home. I expect them to come bottom. Hope I'm right!

Hull (18) N'Doye

Don't know much about him, but they did need a striker with their injury problems. Having said that, Jelavic is back, their midfield is solid and they've got a good manager. I think they will stay up.

Burnley (17) no-one of note

They've been plucky, and have a fabulous manager. But they seem to be running out of steam now. The long season will take its toll on a squad lacking strength in depth and relying on quality that is scant. Dyche's admission that Ings has been affected by speculation also doesn't bode well. I think they will be relegated in 19th position.

Aston Villa (16) Sinclair, Carles Gil

I feel they have added in the right areas (creative midfield, and out wide) but I just feel the club is flat with all the off-the-field speculation in the background. They are 1 injury to Benteke away from not scoring enough goals. If that happens it's curtains for them. Even if it doesn't he's not certain to regain form and confidence quickly enough to score the amount of goals necessary. Big responsibility on his shoulders. I think they will go down in 18th position.

West Brom (15) Mcmanaman, Fletcher

They've got a leader in Fletcher, which will help, but what I felt they needed the most was out wide to provide for the forwards. Mcmanaman will give them that. Anichebe owned our centre backs and Berahino is a natural goalscorer. Added to that the air of invincibility that Pulis gives. Would love to be proved wrong, but I can't see them going down.

Sunderland (14) Defoe

He was exactly what they needed, mercenary or not. I think Poyet is a decent manager too, and they have some talented players. Think they will just about stay up.

So, there you have it. My 3 to go down are Aston Villa, Burnley and QPR. What about you?
