I was wondering if any of the resident Aussie fans on here or people who know a bit about Aussie customs could help me out?
Im wanting to send a bottle of Jensens Gin (Lovely stuff distilled near to London Bridge) out to a friend who is spending a year in Oz. I know that by all means you are allowed to send booze over, but once it arrives customs and excise hold on to it and forward a tax bill on to the intended recipent only allowing the parcel to reach its destination once payment has been recieved.
What i need to know is roughly how much i can expect the tax to be on a 70cl bottle or do some parcels not even get checked, is it literally just the luck of the draw? :p
