"Palace set to send 'X' player on 2 year loan......what should the obligation fee be?

jeudi 17 septembre 2020

Following the Sorloth Saga (decent documentary title that), what would you set any future fee at if a club were obligated to buy after a season loan

Ignoring young players that we may want to keep after loans anyway, these are probably the players I think we/they would want to move on .

The basis is that they must play 50% of this season and the fee is set in stone, as with Sorloth. Contract situation is 1 year left on their deal when they return to us.

Benteke - The value of his final years contract would be enough for me. £6m
Wickham - If he played 50% for anyone, I would set the fee low as heck just to force the move. £2.5m max
Meyer - If we broke even on the length of his contract paid by us, I would say it was a gamble worth taking. £12-14m
Townsend - Accounting for age, I'd consider bids of £7.5 - 10m as acceptable
Sakho - As with Benteke, wages off the books with a little on top is the most I'd ask - £10m
Riedewald - Wouldn't particularly want him to leave now, but he may, and with age still on his side any future fee would need to be around £12m to make it seem like a reasonable risk, he could be a £20m midfielder with regular game time in Europe, he could be no better than he's shown here.
