I know there had been previous stuff like George Harrisons Bangladesh concert but at the time Live Aid felt really ground breaking.
Watching some of the footage now there were some great perfomances. I had forgotten a lot of who was there (and who was missing).
Is this the right set list for the time considering how quickly they had to organise it. I anticipate U2 getting a bashing on here (mullet etc) but thought they were brilliant.
Some were in the States of course, like Simple Minds
Here it is (in order)
Status Quo
Style Council
The Boomtown Rats
Adam Ant
Ultravox
Spandau Ballet
Elvis Costello
Nik Kershaw
Sade
Sting
Phil Collins
Howard Jones
Bryan Ferry and Dave Gilmour!
Paul Young
U2
Dire Straits
Queen
Bowie
The Who
Elton John
Queen
Paul McCartney
Band Aid
