Of all the things to remind me of this, a local massive chemical fire in Melbournes North. Apparently a 20,000 litre LPG tank could well go in the next couple of hours. I said to my Aussie Wife, "It will be like a Sonic Boom where we live" as we are only 4 miles away from the site. Turns out she's never experienced a Sonic Boom.... Sonic Booms must be UnAustralian ;)
So I've realised the last time I heard a Sonic Boom was back in the 70's before I migrated. They used to be a fairly frequent thing in 70's Britain especially along the coast. Do they still happen? When was the last time you heard one?
Just realised, make that a Man Made Sonic Boom, before anyone says "Thunder".... Bleeding hell.... or a Whip Crack... lol.
