Safe pub for away fans?

Before the match next Saturday I'm hoping to have a pint with an old friend who follows Everton around the country, and his dad. Can someone please suggest a "safe" pub for away fans, preferably one not far from a station

I was going to suggest Weatherspoons in Thornton Heath, which I used for that purpose before, but someone told me it closed some time ago
