I have just been informed that sadly Steve Brennan passed away recently aged 57. Steve came through the junior ranks and although he only made 4 first team appearances (and a goal at Lincoln) he was an integral midfield part of our Youth Cup teams in 1976 and 1977.
In the 1976-77 Youth Cup run he played in all eleven games that led up to the two-legged final with Everton. The second leg at Selhurst Park witnessed the only goal of the final scored by Terry Fenwick and was played on the Friday evening 13th May and attracted around 15,000 fans. Others in the team included Billy Gilbert, Peter Nicholas, Ian Walsh, Vince Hilaire and David Fry.
In 1978 Steve joined Plymouth Argyle but only made a handful of appearances there.
Our thoughts are with his family and relatives at this sad time.
