A great article.

Now all the rememberence services and so on around what happened on July 7th are absolutely crucial for us all to ponder upon but I have always thought that the attempted bombings of 2 weeks later, along with the tragedy that unfolded at Stockwell the following day, seem to get forgotton about.

Perhaps because it was all a bit nearer home for me (we actually heard about the attempt at Oval tube station within minutes of it happening due to somebody who was meant to be coming to my office ringing us in an absolute panic due to them being on the actual tube train) but I have always felt that those failed attacks caused more fear and anxiety in London than what happend on July 7th.

If they had succeeded then I think history would have been different. And the poisonous atmosphere the following day was palpable. Never experienced anything like it in London before.

Horrible times.
