Long story short. I have a patio table with a glass top. Glass shattered and needed to replace. Established glass needed to be 47 diameter x 3/16 thick (sorry about the imperial measurements). Frame of table has a lower rim of 47 1/8 and upper rim of 46 7/8.
I got a piece of glass to replace of 47 (although it came in at 46 15/16.
Anyway, it fit through the lower rim like a sausage up a shirt sleeve and barely (not 100%) is retained by the upper rim.
My question is it would seem a 47 ¼ diameter would have been better, but how the heck did/does that fit though a 46 7/8 rim?
