Did anyone watch this on Sky last night? I give Sky and Martin Tyler a lot of stick sometimes for their football coverage but I thought the whole documentary, extended highlights of the final and the analysis from Jamie Carragher was first class.
I'm a relatively young football fan and that was the first time I've seen anything more of the 1966 World Cup other than the goals. What I noticed straight away was how deep teams defended back then- defenders weren't as fast I suppose.
From the game itself I didn't realise what a tight, end to end contest it was. I always thought that England had dominated the game but Germany could have easily won the it in normal time and had some great chances.
Finally, that's the first time I've ever seen any footage of Bobby Moore. My God. What a player.
