...before posting this, I'll just say - I'm fully behind Pardew and I felt we were unlucky today - despite the poor run, 3 of our last 4 losses have been against Chelsea, City and Spurs and I'd say that the Swansea and Villa games are the only ones that have really been a big surprise and disappointment since Xmas.
I hate knee jerk reactions of any form and football fans are the worst for them - the doom and gloom did get me thinking though: without a win in 6 in the league, off the back of 4 straight defeats, with only 1 goal scored - an OG (excepting the cup of course), what would it take for Pardew's position to be considered by the board at this stage?
I think 8th/9th in the league is about par for us, but I imagine the only scenario which would leave to Pardew leaving is relegation - which I cannot see happening. That said, our next 4 in the league are Bournemouth, Swansea, Watford and West Brom - what if we go winless in Feb?
I'll say again - I'm absolutely not saying that Pardew's position should be questioned at all - I just wondered what other people's view on this would be.
