Yet, it appears, if Calciomercato are to be believed, that a few clubs decided to try and get some business done even before the window opened, but were ultimately turned down. The Italian website, running the story as an exclusive on Thursday afternoon, claims that Crystal Palace made a €20m (£14.75m) bid for Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro, which Juventus have since rejected. The 22-year-old, signed last year from Genoa, has become an important part of Massimo Allegri’s side this season, taking part in 10 of the possible 17 league games so far, even scoring a goal in the process. |
