If we are to score a winning goal against Liverpool, what would be the most satisfying way for it to happen?
Here's my fantasy:
It's late in the game with the scores still even and Liverpool are pressing. Benteke gets played in and it looks as if he's certain to score but then Damo slides into a last ditch tackle and nicks the ball out from under his feet. The ball bobbles out to McArthur who plays an alert and crisp short ball to Cabaye. With great vision, Yohan sprays the ball wide to Bolasie, who pokes the ball ahead of Clyne and races down the left touchline. Clyne, quick as he is, tracks back to halt the danger but racing down the overlap is the returning Souare. He picks up a simple ball from Bolasie and speeds down towards the corner flag before delivering a beautiful curling cross. Wickham, on for the final 20 minutes, rises to meet it and,though he can't get a header on goal from the angle, is able to execute a Murray-esque head down into the path of Puncheon, who majestically sweeps the ball into the bottom left corner for his first goal of the season...
Ah. I enjoyed that.
