This maybe merged with the display thread...or moved to Memory Lane but.....I wanted to share with the BBS a proud dad moment I had last week.
It was my sons 8th birthday last week, for those of you who dont know I met his mum when Sol was 2 years old and have regarded him as my son ever since. As a consequence Sol, and his sister (my daughter) Luna, have both been taught to support Palace. This is made even sweeter when you realise that my wifes family are Man Utd supporters. :)
Anyway, over the last few years I have been slowly introducing Palace games to him via highlights from MotD etc, this season he has sat and watched live streams of the WBA match, West Ham, Liverpool etc. For a lad who finds it hard to sit still for 5 minutes sitting through 90 minutes of footy was hard, but he was hooked.
As I said earlier, last week was his 8th birthday, after all the presents etc I was driving him to his karate class. The car was full of the sounds of The Rolling Stones (another of my introductions) when he piped up... "Next year, for my birthday, can we go to a real football match?" "Of course mate, I can take you to see Alhaurin again or maybe even Malaga, how about that?"
He went quiet......."No" he said "I want to go to see Palace!"
Misty eyes made me stop and hug the lad.
