Do you basically have to have one these days?
I've never had one, and never wanted one, but I've been reading up a bit about them (as a result of not being apply to apply for Euro 2016 tickets without one - debit cards aren't accepted, which is bullshit, but that's another matter).
It's all about credit scores, isn't it? I'm not great with money, and am fairly financial illiterate, but always pay bills and direct debits etc bang on time.
But, am I correct in thinking that I'd have no chance in getting a mortgage without having used a credit card to boost my credit score? Seems bizarre to me.
I'm some years off looking to buy a house, but how many years before applying for a mortgage should I be looking to get a card to build up my score?
Thanks in advance
