Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis cannot guarantee that he will remain at Selhurst Park next season.
Pulis has presided over a remarkable turnaround in Palace's fortunes, guiding the club to Premier League safety, after he took over from Ian Holloway in November.
The Welshman insists he is still very much taking things one step at a time at Palace, but revealed he is immensely proud to have consolidated the club's position in the top-flight.
"You can never guarantee that I am going to be here next season," Pulis told Sky Sports News.
"You just take every day as it comes. But I'm very, very proud to be stood here and saying that I am the manager of Crystal Palace and we are still a Barclays Premier League football club."
Pulis' relationship with Palace chairman Steve Parish was reported to have come under strain but the 56-year-old moved to dispel rumours of a rift.
"That's nonsense," Pulis said. "I think in the first couple of weeks me and Steve we had our moments but the longer the season has gone on the closer we've got.
"Our relationship - which I think is the most important relationship at a football club between a manager and a chairman - has gotten more and more solid.
"I had a fantastic relationship with my last chairman at Stoke (Peter Coates). I really do think our closeness in the way we thought and worked things out was one of the main reasons why that club was so successful.
"It's something you have to nurture and you have to bend at times to get that sort of relationship. That's what Steve and myself have done."
Pulis, who was named Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month for April, has guided Palace to 11th in the table after a run of five wins in six matches.
But despite the club's lofty league position in the table, Pulis confirmed no discussions have taken place as yet regarding his long-term future as the club's manager.
"No we haven't done anything yet and that's as much to do with myself as Steve," Pulis said.
"I just want to get the season out of the way. It's very important that we concentrate on the two games left, finish as high as we possibly can and then work from there.
"We have lot of players out of contract and a lot of players that have been out on loan, so there's a lot of work to be done.
"We want to sit down and clear our heads. But we won't sit down until we've settled everything in respect of games this season."
I'm sure I'm over worrying, but the all important quotes are there!
