Discussion: U-21 Toulon Tournament 2014

mardi 20 mai 2014

While the international scouting focus this summer will very much be on the World Cup in Brazil, the next couple of weeks will see the U-21 Toulon Tournament, which should see some very promising young players from around the world in action. The teams involved are:

Group A

France

Brazil

Chile

China PR

Colombia

Group B

England

Mexico

Portugal

Qatar

South Korea

There are 4 games in the group stage, with the group winners going straight to the final and the group runners-up playing for the third place medal - i.e no knock-out stages.

I'm currently living in Toulon, so will try to get along to a couple of games (any other Gallic Eagles going?). Anyone know of any prospects from those countries who would be worth checking out?

As an aside, I notice that Brazil have 2 U-21 players called Alison and one called Mosquito. How can we possibly compete with that?
