The 2014 Giro starts on Friday with a team time trial in Belfast on Friday followed by a flatish stage in it's environs likely to result in a bunch sprint on Saturday.
Sunday sees a stage finishing in Dublin before a rest day, the south of Italy and the giro proper.
Irish hopes will rest on Dan Martin (Garmin), Nicholas Roche (Tinkoff-Saxo) & Phillip Deignan (Sky) - the latter of which is actually from Ireland but this race will probably see him slaving away for the british shilling.
