Anyone in the northern half of the U.S. is likely scratching her head and wondering why she hasn’t seen Chick-fil-A outlets opening in the neighborhood. Last year Chick-fil-A only had about 1,775 U.S. stores to KFC’s 4,491, and most are in the South. Yet in dollar terms the Colonel is coming up short even with that much larger footprint: Chick-fil-A’s 2013 sales passed $5 billion, while all of KFC’s U.S. restaurants rang up about $4.22 billion, according to Technomic. And that’s with zero dollars coming in to Chick-fil-A on Sundays, when every restaurant is closed. |
The Dynamo Kiev captain, Oleg Gusev, had a narrow escape after swallowing his tongue before being saved by an opposition player. Gusev had challenged for a cross with Denys Boyko and collapsed on the floor unconscious after a blow from the Dnipro goalkeeper's knee. The Dnipro midfielder Jaba Kankava reacted instantly, sticking his hand down Gusev's throat to clear his airways. After a few minutes Gusev stood up before he was carried off the pitch on a stretcher. The only casualty appeared to be Kankava, who was seen ruefully shaking his hand after being accidently bitten during the incident. |
Man Murdered After Raping His Friend’s Cow Mar 28, 2014 Society CityNews - At 11:00 a.m. on March 26th, Thai Police received a call about a body found in an abandoned security guard’s booth in Tambon Baan Thai, Amphur Baan Thi, Lamphun. Police Colonel Siriwat Boonprasit, the Baan Thai Police Commander, rushed to the crime scene with a medical examiner and Lamphun Rescue Services. The murder weapon. They found the body of Annop Buddhasart (41) on a mattress in the abandoned booth. His head was caved in due to blunt force trauma from a weapon. The Police found out that Annop was living with a man named Ta Khamkaew. They searched for Ta for 3 hours and found him looking and acting very suspicious. They took him for questioning at the police station, where Ta confessed that he killed Annop out of pure rage. Ta said that he and Annop had been drinking together before the murder took place. After Annop has gone to his bedroom to go to sleep, Ta heard his white female cow cry out. He rushed into the bedroom with a hoe thinking the cow had been bitten by a snake. Instead, he found Annop raping the cow, so he bashed Annop with a hoe three times in the head until he died. He then hid the murder weapon and went to sleep at a farmer’s hut nearby. Baan Thai Police took Ta back to the scene of the crime to find the evidence and to re-enact the murder, as well as to receive his confession. He has been charged with homicide and is now awaiting trial. |
