FA - Palace could face point deduction due to ball boy

lundi 31 mars 2014

The FA are a bunch of cheating scumbags. They are threatening to deduct us 10 pts over the ball boy incident on Saturday.

Typical Palace luck.

KFC is dead, long live Chick-fil-A (hyperbole)

I know you guys have probably never heard of Chick-fil-A, but they just passed KFC as the #1 fast food chicken joint in the US.

Anyone in the northern half of the U.S. is likely scratching her head and wondering why she hasn’t seen Chick-fil-A outlets opening in the neighborhood. Last year Chick-fil-A only had about 1,775 U.S. stores to KFC’s 4,491, and most are in the South. Yet in dollar terms the Colonel is coming up short even with that much larger footprint: Chick-fil-A’s 2013 sales passed $5 billion, while all of KFC’s U.S. restaurants rang up about $4.22 billion, according to Technomic. And that’s with zero dollars coming in to Chick-fil-A on Sundays, when every restaurant is closed.

The Dynamo Kiev captain, Oleg Gusev, had a narrow escape after swallowing his tongue before being saved by an opposition player.

Gusev had challenged for a cross with Denys Boyko and collapsed on the floor unconscious after a blow from the Dnipro goalkeeper's knee.

The Dnipro midfielder Jaba Kankava reacted instantly, sticking his hand down Gusev's throat to clear his airways. After a few minutes Gusev stood up before he was carried off the pitch on a stretcher. The only casualty appeared to be Kankava, who was seen ruefully shaking his hand after being accidently bitten during the incident.

It's amazing how quick Kankava went to work in that video.

Winter Olympics 2014 Winner: srs9jps

Rules are as follows

1 Every player has 200 points to bet with in the first round.

2 Each separate bet made is 10 points meaning players have 20 bets during the first 20 days. Maximum bet on a single market is 10 points, same rule applies for identical multis (basically no duplicate bets though you can do a team A, team B double on one bet and then add team C for a treble in another bet)

3 In the second round the 4* finalists all start by carrying forward 25% of their score from the first round added to the 150 points that can bet used in the second round. The person who qualifies for the final with the most points also gets an additional 10pt bet. (*if the number of participants gets to 16 or more, then a 5th finalist place will be added and then one more for every 5 players on top of that).

4 Betting Masters, first group stages runs from 0000 on the first of the month (standard UK time) to 2359hrs on the 20th of the month. Then the top four* posters come together in a mini league from there on until the end of the month.

Final bet settlement must occur before 2359 on the last day of the month.

5 Naturally the winner is the person with the highest score at the end of the last day of the month.

6 Scoring consists of total winnings and is inclusive of 10 point stake i.e. someone bets on a 6/4 horse and it wins their score becomes 25 (15 points profits plus the 10 pt stake) There is no score for any bets not used. Losing bets are scored as zero, not -10.

Any bet from an exchange bookie will have a 4% commission (on the winnings), if nothing else is explicitly stated in the post.

7 Players must quote where they're getting their prices.

8 Singles and upwards accepted.

9 For boxed multis and bets such as Yankees, each separate bet within the bet counts as separate and will cost 10pts per bet. e.g. ten trebles from five selections will use up 100 points.

10. E/W bets are counted as two bets in the masters, which means 10 points x 2

11. For tracking purposes, players are requested to put the outcome of their bets on the post for all events other than European soccer/tennis.

12. Where possible players are requested to put down a running total of their bets in their posts, although I'll also try and produce rolling league tables where possible.

13. After a bet has been posted up, one is not allowed to edit it..

14. The bets must be possible to do in real life, meaning for example that if you got a multi, all the odds have to come from 1 bookmaker. You can’t shop around for the highest odds and put them together. "Special promotion" type bets are not allowed though BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed) are.

15. Bets must be placed at odds of 1/10 (or 1.1 in decimal) or higher

16. Any Draw No Bet bets where the result is a push will always have the bet settled as void, never 10pts. Any asian handicap bet where the result is a push (in full) will have the bet settled as void. Any asian handicap where half of the stake is returned will be marked down as 5pts with the remainder of the Asian handicap settled as a win or a loss (this is applicable for asian handicaps such as 2.25 or -2, -2.5 etc)

17. In the event that a player is not sure if their bet will finish in time, before midnight on the 20th or midnight for qualifying midnight on the final day of the month for the final, they can make a provisional bet or bets which then become actual bets only if their original selection(s) finishes at 12.01am or after

Some questions from a Cardiff fan

Would it be ok if you could answer a few questions ahead of our game on Saturday?

1.Who have been your stand out performers so far this season?

2.Was Pulis the right choice of manager?

3.How do you view the palace game, will it be a walk in the park or a tough game?

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season?

5.Out of the current Cardiff squad, which player would you have, and why?

6.Finally, what’s your score prediction for the game?

Adam Johnson (Suggestion)

Sunderland go down and we stay up I think we should nick him.

Evening Standard?

I seem to recall that there was some sort of dispute with the Standard a few years ago (probably in Jordan era) and that limited the articles on us.

Is there still a problem as the coverage on Palace is absolutely pathetic?

I reluctantly accept the world does not revolve around us but we certainly receive less coverage than any other London team. What exactly is their issue with us?

Tonight's copy is laughable as all it reads is that Chelscum lost against someone.

Credit where credit is due and even MOTD gave us some praise this week.

It is a shame that the Standard is free as I can not even stop buying the sh1te!

Goats, bees, chickens n stuff

Hi all,

I bought 3 chickens recently for a bit of fun and for decent eggs and have really enjoyed them, so much so that I'm thinking about all sorts of other animals for the garden.

I've narrowed it down to goats and bees so far so has anyone got an experience of either ? I'm looking ideally for a couple of dairy goats so I can get some free milk (the whole family love goats milk).

So far I've not read too many scare stories and I think Ive talked the mrs into it too.

Facebook help

A member of my family recently passed away and the family wanted to put an announcement on his facebook page (as none of us know his friends etc) as a way of letting people know and for the funeral arrangements.

I know you could leave a comment on his wall but I am not sure how many will see it unless they go on his profile. Is there a way to do an announcement type message for his friend list?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Should Terry heve been red carded?

I've always thought Lee mason was rubbish but was nicely surprised when he reffed here earlier as he seemed pretty fair and decent.

On Saturday he just seemed to have a huge does of "Bigclubitis" and literally never gave us a thing and always seemed even hasty in his desire to make sure Chelsea got an advantage in every possible situation there was going?

Terry had a yellow and then wrestled (was it Jerome?) on the half way line and advantage was played but should he have also got a 2nd yellow for trying to bring him down, surely it couldn't have been seen as 50/50?

6th best defence in the league

Didn't realise this until Shearer mentioned it on MOTD on Saturday, but there are only 5 teams currently with a better defensive record than ourselves.

I think this passed most of us by with our lack of scoring keeping us on the minus twenties for seemingly forever.

And those 5 are Manure, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton and City. We are joint level with Liverpool.

Our defence should be commended on this.

Long may it continue!! :lux::lux::lux:

41 Years Today - Guess Who we Beat!

My second ever game. Our first ever win over a London team in the top flight. I can still remember Canon leaping just like John Terry to head into top corner (I think on his league debut) in front of 40,000. I was hooked for life. I have the programme and Arthur Waite ticket in front of me. What lovely symmetry!

Thank God it's Monday

There'll be plenty of Chelsea mugs at work trotting out excuses today - have none of it. We beat them fair and square, and their gracious in defeat manager has admitted it (thank you Jose).

Foul throws

Whats the rule on this.

Saw during Chelski, the geezer who did the long throw ins for them,Ivanovich I think, apart from being bloody brilliant at them, kept having his foot over the line.

I always thought that if your foot was over the line it was a foul throw ?

Ledders

Yesterday I think we saw what he was all about a danger in attack and very defensively sound, he has some ******* engine on him to, like everyone else he was brilliant. Bar Speroni and Jerome I thought he was our best player.

Fortress Selhurst

At the beginning of the season everyone said that one of the biggest factors to whether we would stay up or not would be how we perform at Selhurst Park, with the atmosphere the fans generate and playing with a little more freedom as opposed to a Away matches we all knew how important it would be.

And it has been fantastic as the picture attached shows.

Sad news from Sweden

Today is the start of the Swedish football season. Tragically, before a match between Helsingborg and Djurgården, a supporter was killed in a row between the two sets of fans after a bottle was thrown. In the stadium itself, the atmosphere became worse with both sets of fans taunting each other. Eventually after fan encroachment, the match was abandoned. As a side note the referee was Martin Hanson, the ref who took charge of the infamous France v Ireland World Cup play-off. Absolutely shocking news though. Truly tragic that a fan who had been looking forward to this day is not going home to Stockholm tonight.:sob:

Kate O'Mara RIP

RIP Kate. Very good, sexy actress back in the day.

Groundsman

Steve, do you know what the ballpark figure is they are paying for the groundsman position they are advertising at the moment? I am considering applying but a big drop in salary would not be suitable for me.Pm me if you could put in the public domain.

Congratulate the ground staff this season as the pitch has looked superb.

On a second note, the atmosphere at Palace is rocking at the moment but please please please never employ someone to wave flags behind the goals when we score like at the Emirates or Stamford Bridge.:)

Damien Delaney and that Water Bottle Yesterday

What the hell was Damien doing with that water bottle in front of the dug outs yesterday?

After he had a drink and showered his head, it looked like he watered his crown jewels (seen from upper Holmesdale).

They had a shot from the rear view on Sky last night.

Anyone else see that or better still anyone get a photo from the front.

It certainly looked like he pulled open his shorts and squirted his bottle inside:D

Humour: John Terry (striker on trial)

Missing large chunks of my memory of yesterday's game due to the grape ans grain beer festival. I heard we had a trialist playing who scored.

Any good thoughts on whether we should sign him in the summer?

We have to be gracious in victory, they must be gutted.

Thanks.

Even Paul Carrack gave Palace a shout out last night

Went to Fairfield Halls to see Paul Carrack and in between songs he said "Are you happy? You should be after today's result. We're not too close to West London for me to say that are we?". Nice touch, got the crowd onside straight away :)

A lucky ritual??

Hope I don't have to do this for every home game until the end of the season, but.... set off in the car as usual from Bromley at about 1.30pm yesterday. Little did I know that it would turn into the journey from hell. Took an hour and a half to do what's normally a half hour trip at most and, just as we were within 5 minutes of the ground, junior (5) got travel sick and threw up all over himself. So I'm driving round in a car full of vomit looking for a parking space. At one point I am so near the ground I can hear the cheers of the crowd (it's about 5 past 3 by now) but I can't find any parking spaces at all so I say to my older son that we're going to have to go home as his brother is covered in sick, I have no change of clothes or anything to clean it up with and I can't find anywhere to park. So that's what we did. Caught the second half online and obviously the result wiped away the memory somewhat of the journey from hell. But, do I now have to do it every home game til the end of th season? :)

KG

Morning gang,

does anybody know the correct pronunciation of his name?

I always thought it was 'Dig-a-choi'

but on the telly , they always say 'Dig-ash-wii'

any ideas?

Ta.:p

Who remembers Tues 30th April 1974?

I do! I also remember exactly where I was, out playing football with the neighbours. It was probably the first time I felt totally gutted after knowing a Palace result. This time however 1-1 would go a long way to do to Cardiff what it did to us that night. Roll on Sat 5th April 2014!

ST renewal with Eagle Gold?

Pretty sure that I renewed online with an option to add Eagle Gold last year but can't see the option this year? Anyone know the procedure?

Man Murdered After Raping His Friend’s Cow

Mar 28, 2014

Society

CityNews - At 11:00 a.m. on March 26th, Thai Police received a call about a body found in an abandoned security guard’s booth in Tambon Baan Thai, Amphur Baan Thi, Lamphun. Police Colonel Siriwat Boonprasit, the Baan Thai Police Commander, rushed to the crime scene with a medical examiner and Lamphun Rescue Services.

The murder weapon.

They found the body of Annop Buddhasart (41) on a mattress in the abandoned booth. His head was caved in due to blunt force trauma from a weapon. The Police found out that Annop was living with a man named Ta Khamkaew. They searched for Ta for 3 hours and found him looking and acting very suspicious. They took him for questioning at the police station, where Ta confessed that he killed Annop out of pure rage.

Ta said that he and Annop had been drinking together before the murder took place. After Annop has gone to his bedroom to go to sleep, Ta heard his white female cow cry out. He rushed into the bedroom with a hoe thinking the cow had been bitten by a snake. Instead, he found Annop raping the cow, so he bashed Annop with a hoe three times in the head until he died. He then hid the murder weapon and went to sleep at a farmer’s hut nearby.

Baan Thai Police took Ta back to the scene of the crime to find the evidence and to re-enact the murder, as well as to receive his confession. He has been charged with homicide and is now awaiting trial.

I have a new man in my life!

well actually its a mannequin. Got him real cheap. Unfortunately, he came dressed in a tshirt and shorts with boxer shorts underneath which was a bit disturbing as I had to undress him to put a palace top on him. Now I need some kind soul to donate shorts and sox, size adult med or small as he's half naked in my living room and it'll just add fuel to the rumors that have already been started by my neighbors.

Oh yeah, and before some tosser tells me its no good without pics, I'll need someone to tell me how to post a pic from my dumb phone, iPad or camera.

I was going to call him Muzza, but he has a huge smile on his face. Maybe Clinton would be better.

He's quite cute, I hope you'll be proud for us both.

Gary big ears, I talk bo#####s

I wonder what the big eared twat will make of our performance today?????

And WHAT a win today!!

Player Ratings And Reviews: Crystal Palace 1-0 Chelsea

Poll coming up...

To all those that said that they would rather be in the championship?

Do you still feel the same way?

Chelsea Fans in the Palace end

Had three of them in the Whitehorse. One was singing Chelsea and everything even after I asked him to shut up. Reported them at half time saying that I wouldn't be responsible for my actions if they scored and gave it the biggun, as they didn't want to eject them. So glad they got to stay and witness that. They actually commented on our amazing support second half, stayed to the end and clapped us off! Maybe they've been converted from their armchairs and the odd away game when they are lucky enough to

get a ticket!

:lux:

Yes, Tony Pulis

Was getting fed up with the negative "Not Tony Pulis" thread title.

This guy is one of the best Premiership managers in the league.

He has not only taken a team made up of a mix of talents, great and small, good enough in spirit and tenacity to beat the top Premiership team, but has done exactly what he said our club needed, and that was to gain an "identity.

"Identity" is what we now have, and that was apparent by all the comments today from the pundits who had previously written us off as relegation fodder. The comments from all media commentators after today's win; no correction, after today's historic win, clearly demonstrated this beyond any doubt in my mind.

Thank you Tony, for your professionalism and your motivational skills. You are our now surely part of our great future.

Why is Torres Rubbish?

Panini World Cup 2014 sticker album

So, this was released today. Any football nerds, saddos, dads, grandads etc on here going to be collecting? For the last couple of FIFA tournaments there's been a great swapping network on here.

640 stickers this time, with packs of 5 stickers costing 50p. The album is £1.50, but I reckon a few magazines and newspapers will have a free giveaway in the next few days.

Jedinak and Guedioura both feature in the album.

Benders can get married now

In just a few hours' time, shit stabbers and muff divers can get married as opposed to 'civil partnerships'. The first official wedding will be in Brighton, surprise sur-f**cking-prise.

My question is:

PK would you marry me if I liked penises and not snatch holes? Or would it just be a kee-bab and chips and f**k off?

When I say kebab I do mean a Bender Brunch at a Wimpy of course.

Match Preview: Can Palace Give Chelsea the Blues?

Holradio blogger Richard Foster takes a look ahead to the Chelsea match as the Eagles face a daunting task...

Here's the first bit, link follows if it tickles your fancy!

1. MIND GAMES

Where do you start when facing the might of Mourinho and his masterful mind games? One thing that Pulis must not do is to get involved in a pre-match verbal scrap with Jose as there is only one winner in that battle and he doesn’t wear a baseball cap. After their demolition of Arsenal last weekend it is difficult to see any chink in Chelsea’s armour but somehow we have to mount the ramparts and indulge in some sabre rattling whilst manning the barricades.

New Palace Book?

When Football Was Football – Crystal Palace – A Nostalgic Look at a Century of the Club.

Seen this advertised in the last few days.

One of the west country eagles has had a leaflet thru from Soccer Books Ltd offering the above new title - hardbck for £25. +pp.

Seems to be backed by the Daily Mirror and mentions a well produced photogrophic book in the days before millionaire players & owners.

My question is has anyone seen this book and able to give an opinion on it?

Some years ago I was given a newspaper cuttings book regarding Palace and whilst it was good to receive as a present I don't think I would have bought it myself.

So is this 'new' in a similar style?

Premier League Conflict of Interest

This has been posted elsewhere but deserves its own thread.

To view the link you have to Register or Login

This is staggering, it amounts to an admission of an absolute conflict of interest on the part of the organisers of top level football in this country. Scudamore is saying his product is being damaged by Manchester United's poor results, therefore admitting it is in his brand's interests that they do well.

How can the Premier League be trusted to run a fair competition when they need the "big" clubs to be successful for financial reasons? What actions do they take behind the scenes to increase the chances of this happening?

Do we give Mourinyoyo the clap??

This is starting to bug me you now:grrr:...having spent years growing up hating those filthy nazi chelski scum.... their oligarch funder and the horrible place Stamford Bridge USED to be....something odd has been happening...been noticing how a few of the nicest friends i have are Chelsea fans...not your plastic ones but ones who always supported them from the 70's and all...like really nice geezers...never a bad word to say about Palace these days(they used to have bad words for us but that was in the past)...they are almost paternalistic about us...like we are their odd little brothers or something..they like us!!?? Then there's when we were in administration....that friendly game we had...the bastards donated their share of the gate receipts to us didn't they?? was I dreaming??..no other fecker did anything like that, they all just tried to screw us...Then there's Jose! how many more times can the man be complimentary about our club and fans...I honestly believe he has a huge soft spot for us...and, if I'm honest, I like his suit and sense of humour.

The other day I was speaking to a close cousin of Brian Clough. I told her i was a Palace fan and mentioned the time(was it in the 80's?) when the old stand gave Cloughy an ovation as he walked out onto the pitch. I remember he started looking behind himself to see who the ovation was for, until, it finally clicked it was for him. She was well aware of the incident and it ovbiously made a huge impact on Cloughy who himself retold the story.

Now I know Jose is no Cloughy....but I kinda like him and he kinda likes us I'm sure...how about we give him a similar welcome onto our hallowed turf?? it would do more good than harm surely?? show what a magnanimous bunch we can be...of course after that we must all scream and swear at anything chelski do...but just for a couple of minutes??? what dya reckon?? I apologize but I had to get this out of my system...it may well be a ridiculous idea:eek:

Sport England's funding cut to FA a 'warning over grassroots failure'

• Decision made because of decline in people playing football

• Golf, netball, rowing, hockey and mountaineering also hit

The grassroots funding body Sport England has said a £1.6m cut in the money awarded to the Football Association should act as a "warning" over its failure to increase the number of people playing the game.

The chief executive, Jennie Price, has also called on professional clubs to do more to work with the FA, local councils and commercial five-a-side companies to encourage more people to take part in football for fun.

Read more on To view the link you have to Register or Login .

Calling on professional clubs to do more is pointless. They should do more, but it simply isn't in their (financial) interests at the top end of the game.

Quite funny seeing those arseholes in fits over Moyes managements and its been a nice change not hearing or seeing many United shirts about the area - perhaps they have all crawled under a rock somewhere?

From the Training Ground with Palace Radio pre Chelsea (H)

Chamakh & Gayle will once again be missing through injury, sadly. I wouldn't expect too many changes from the line-up of the last couple of games.

The question of Jonny Williams was raised (and TP did go to Portman Road in midweek to see his performance), but quite understandably he said that he would speak to Ipswich before deciding on whether he would be staying there for the rest of the season. His one month loan was technically up yesterday, so I would imagine a decision will be made later today. If I had to have an educated guess, I'd expect him to stay there, but we will see!

As for Chelsea, he said we would have to be at our best, and they have been talking about 'taking the chances' with the players this week! One goal in 5 is not great, but at least the defence has been pretty mean, and they will have to be tight on Saturday.

He said they hadn't had the breaks or much luck in recent weeks, and although he wouldn't complain about the refereeing decisions, I think we'd all agree that the big ones haven't gone our way in the last few games.

Tony made a big point about how good the Palace fans have been, and wouldn't comment about WHU when asked about Big Sam being booed off after a win this week! That brought a wry smile to his face:D

You can hear the short interview with him from this morning now on I-tunes or To view the link you have to Register or Login - 2 mins 40 secs (1MB)

Pulis Presser Today 27/3

1) - team news - Chamakh not ready for this week - will be ready next week

2) Gayle also out - other strikers will be fine - need goals from everywhere

3) need a break in front of goal - look at arsenal game - ref blew up bang on time - against Newcastle he added time on - had good moments in games - need to make the most of them

4) on Newcastle game - had opportunities - need to be more clinical

5) most important thing is to not get too carried away or too despondent - couple of wins changes the picture - have had three games away in last four - had four difficult games

6) on relegation battle - most important thing is to focus on palace - its as open as it has been for a long time

7) on Mourinho - one of the elite managers in the world - he has managed the great teams and they need to win and he does that for them - they win everywhere - of all the teams in the champs league this year I always fancied chelsea to go furthest - they are very organised and very structured

8)- met him after game at Stamford bridge - he is very interesting - no doubt he is a top top manager - he was charming

9) on title race - fantastic - to have three clubs going at it is fantastic - man city have the best group of players - would edge towards them because of their squad

10) on refs - the time of the year when you need it right - it is a very difficult job - you have simulation running through the game and we need to do more as a group - you have things that make it difficult to ref - you just hope they dont make a decision that affects the game - they will make mistakes but the BIG mistakes are the ones that annoy people

11) you want openness with refs - but it would run and run if in the media

12) the team have been fantastic - their attitude has been first class - we have had moments in games where we have had to score - we just need the breaks

13) was always going to be tough as a job - the premier league is not just a run of ten games - you have to keep going and working hard - we now have four games at home and four away - we are still three points outside the bottom three

14) on Jonny Williams - will speak to Ipswich if I wanna bring him back

15) on west ham boos - supporters here have been wonderful - they are a big help for us - we took 3000 to newcastle - cant really speak about west ham fans

16) on points total - a point above third from bottom will be enough - my target is always the next game

17) we will need a little bit of luck along the way to stay up - players need to relish the challenge

18) on the balance - is an uneven contest v Chelsea - if we set ourselves up well then you never know

19) on game at stamford bridge - no two games are the same - now playing under more pressure - players have to handle that - am sure they will come through it

20) Chelsea have outstanding players - we have to defend well but also be a threat going forward

21) we have to cope collectively - not many of our players would get in their team - but collectively we can be a threat - Sevilla got a result v Real Madrid

22) on lack of goals - would be more worried if we weren't creating chances - need to start hitting the target

23) fans have been wonderful - need them to stick with us

Never watched it because I hate viewing such one-sided contests and it was obvious from that start that Farage was going to wipe the floor with Clegg but for the life of me I cannot understand why Clegg agreed to take part in the first place ?

What was the upside for him ? The only analysis that I have seen that makes any sense is that Clegg has his eyes on a senior job within the EU following the election and wanted to use this as an opportunity to cement his pro-EU stance to aid that.

Who'd be a manager eh?

When you think about it, it really is just a game, but you look around at some of the manager's faces and you see nothing but fatigue and despair. Moyes looks positively haunted, so does Holloway. Yes, they chose their path in life and they get paid well, but these people all have families too. What must it be like in their households right now? Can they switch off, or does the cat/dog/other members of their family suffer the brunt of their despair? Me? I'd take the money and run. I'm sure each of them to varying degrees has enough bunce in the bank, and yet they continue to put themselves through the grinder that is football management, week in, week out. Never mind the slings and arrows, the abuse these people get is, as Coppell once described it after being abused the length of the Chelsea touchline by Palace fans after they got beat 6-2 "fearful" to put it mildly.

Philipp Lahm v Hertha Berlin - 25 March 2014

Identity theft/fraud - What to do?

Hello guys and girls,

Over the last month I've been sent two accepted credit card applications and one loan confirmation. It's all in my name to my home address and luckily it doesn't appear to have gone any further than this.

Of course though, I don't know if they've applied for anything else and managed to get their hands on it before me. I'm also pretty worried that they've probably applied for 500 different loans and cards, and massively screwed up my credit rating.

Cost of Programme

A question and not a moan, I have purchased the Palace programme for many years, but having attended the recent away matches at Sunderland and Newcastle I noticed the size layout etc was pretty much the same as our programme but was only £3 is, I think ours still takes some beating re content etc

Is the difference in price just economy of scale ie Newcastle probably average 50,000 and Sunderland 38,000 so would get a better deal from the programme printers etc

I am not sure of other clubs prices, perhaps they are £4

Would welcome your comment

It really isn't very far from the tipping point of falling over. More and more surgeries are closing and then when the contract gets handed back the Local Area Teams of NHS England often award contracts to private or NHS companies, leading to satisfaction levels amongst GP's. Nurses, staff and patients all dropping.

Doubt anyone will take any notice, especially given the comments from DoH at the end showing they have no idea what is going on and NHS England who go back to when GP workload was significantly increased to point out a timeframe when funding increased.

People think it is hard getting a GP appointment at the moment, without changes it will only get worse.

Club Use of Twitter During Matches

Hi, I would like to make a suggestion regarding the use of Twitter during matches by the club.

During the Newcastle game I think @Official_CPFC sent 83 Tweets, that is between kick-off and full-time whistle. It may have been 73, I lost count half way though. Whether it is 73 or 83 Tweets, that's an awful lot of Tweets to send in a just under 2 hour period.

When Palace are playing I tend to know what is happening either by being at the game, watching it on television, listening to Palace Player, listening to the radio or following the game on BBS.

While I recognise that some people may have to resort to Twitter to follow the game I cannot think that I would unless my circumstances changed totally. Unfortunately, the multiple Tweets by @Official_CPFC makes Twitter a no-go zone for me on match days because it drowns out all other information. Yet, I don't want to lose access to information sent out by the club during the rest of the week.

So, I would like to suggest that the club sets up a specific Twitter account just for match commentary. Just before kick-off @Official_CPFC can send a remind Tweet to the effect that minute-by-minute Tweets can be found on the commentary account so that people can subscribe to the commentary. Everybody is happy.

Please?

Not felt this low in a long time!

Yesterday was such a bitter end to a good performance and anyone who thinks we should be attacking more, if we hadn't had played the way we did then we would have got battered and without Jules making a few good saves we would have been battered either way!

It still felt a harsh way to lose a game of football and I do feel really down today and can't wait to get home!

We have to realise things are not as bad as they could have been and we must rally ourselves for Saturday and put this behind us and solider on the players need us to keep the faith and all the negative posts on here ain't doing anyone any good!

We can do this as Optimus Prime once we need a little energon and a lot of luck!

Bottom 7 remaining fixtures

Apologies if this is somewhere else ( have attached file hope it can be opened )

It seems Fulham WBA and Sunderland have winnable games , just hope they dont suddenly start winning .

Personally i dont think we can change the way we play with the players available to us . Was quite impressed yesterday but like most on here , i just cant see where we will get goals from .

When Football Was Football

To view the link you have to Register or Login

With more than 200 pages jam-packed full of memory evoking pictures, all taken from the Daily Mirror's huge archive, When Football Was Football: Crystal Palace whisks us through the ages of one of London's best-loved football clubs. From their ostentatious beginnings out of the Crystal Palace Company, based at the glass palace which sat on top of Sydenham Hill, to more humble times at Herne Hill running track, The Nest, and latterly Selhurst Park, the book takes supporters on a nostalgia-filled ride as it celebrates more than 100 years of this wonderful south-London institution. When Football Was Football: Crystal Palace is a unique and superbly presented collection of photographs with iconic figures littered throughout its pages. Early legends such as Bill Davies and Henry Colclough share the spotlight with such as Johnny Byrne, Steve Kember and Jim Cannon, Steve Coppell, Nigel Martyn, Ian Wright, Mark Bright and, of course, more modern-day heroes including Dougie Freedman. It's not just the stars of the show who are featured, though, but also those other great characters who make football clubs tick: the chairmen, managers, laundry girls and, perhaps most importantly, the fans. Along the way there have been many highs and lows for Crystal Palace and plenty of them feature prominently on these pages. It is a fantastic collection of photographs, one which is sure to rekindle memories of heroes and great moments from the past century.

you reap what you sow

Today's result was completely Pulis fault and was always going to happen sooner or later. If you keep going into these games sitting deep and going for a draw there is always a chance you will get sucker punched like today. The most frustrating thing was Newcastle clearly weren't bothered and were there for the taking if only we had gone for it

Woodwork

It may not have much to do with today's result but it's something I have been conscious of this season as each game has gone by.

How many points have we gained or dropped by either being lucky or unlucky with the post or crossbar coming to our rescue or Vise versa?

I'm going to need some help here but from my recollection it seems we have been pretty fortunate in this department.

Important moments where the woodwork has been struck are:

Hull City away - last minute, they rattled one against the post, saved us two points and secured our first away win

Sunderlamd last week - Borini hit the upright and saves us a point and more importantly stops them getting all 3

Everton at home, they hit the crossbar right at the end, we got a point and the first for about 7 matches!!

Off the top of my head these are the games I recall where the woodwork has saved us points. Theres also obviously been plenty of other games where the opposition have struck the woodwork but may not have changed the outcome of things with regards to points, these are:

Southampton home - lambert

Liverpool away

Norwich away (bannan also hit crossbar for us)

Tottenham away

Newcastle home & away

Swansea home?

Stoke away?

That's pretty much all I remember but it seems we've been fairly fortunate overall.

Games where we've hit the post or crossbar from what I recall are.

Arsenal home - ward

Newcastle away - bolasie

Norwich away - bannan

Villa away - bannan

There's probably quite a few I've missed for and against but I just feel that every week (or at least so it seems) I have my heart in my mouth as the opposition pepper our goal with chances and often hit the woodwork! Can't take much more of this now! Can just see our season being decided by goal line technology from a Darren Bent shot in the last minute at Craven Cottage!

Corners

Why are we so bad at them? it drives me mad, I just dont understand it they arent that difficult, my mates redhill and district side take better corners on a sunday morning!

We had 6 corners today, 4 of them hit the first man and one of them was straight at the keeper.

Its the same every week, surely Pulis should send our corner taker to selhurst a few times a week and practice for a hour of so?

Best free flash browser for Ipad

As above

Is there a good free flash browser for Ipad?

thanks

So Pissed off ...

Just that really.

93 mins we fought and harried and yes had a bit of luck - but we looked good, and we were getting forward and making chances.

and 93.05 sucker punch.

3 mins stoppage time.... and the 5 secs cost us dear.

That 1 point could be crucial come May.

All credit the Palace tho - they played a lot better then recent weeks, and to be fair was a good header for the goal as by then legs were gone.

Seeing City, Chelsea and Liverpool scoring at will today - that point.... damn it.

Scott Dann-immense

The guy has been solid since he signed for us and imo he is always in our top 2/3 performers. I was least excited about his signing in January but he's turned out to be the best

Excellent signing

Palace Suffer From Another Awful Ref

Yet again Palace have been cheated by a ref as Murray was clearly fouled by the last man and then Newcastle go up the other end and score an offside goal after the 3 minutes injury time was up.

The ref gave Palace nothing all game and is a disgrace to his profession.

Technical Players

Were you entertained when they came on. :hi::D:p

Well done to everybody who went today

Loud and proud.

Gutted, but not half as gutted as you must feel having to travel back tonight.

Sopcast

Wow - just began to use this to watch and its awesome, quality is great and with VLC get a ncie big screen size - there's no either buffering like with shitty flash. Awesome - thx Wiziwig and Sopcast - will enjoy gunners drumming and then some Eagles mauling of the toon.

A friend of mine has a wordpress website and just out of the blue it appears to have lost its CSS/Layout.

I didnt build this but he's getting little help from his developer.

The site is To view the link you have to Register or Login .

You'll notice the layout has gone to pot but its like this throughout the entire site including the backend. I've tried changing the template but then the new template layout is the same.

I did randomly stumble upon a 403 forbidden access error but I cant seem to replicate it - although it did make me wonder if there was an access issue??

HELP: boiler/shower hot water problem

Another of those Ask The BBS About Heating threads.

So my shower is not running hot for the duration of the shower. Central Heating is fine. Hot water via the kitchen tap is fine (at least as much as needed for washing up). But the shower starts hot then goes cold for a while, and so on.

Before getting someone in I want to find out if I can narrow the problem down. After a bit of reading I wonder if it could be the heat exchanger being furred up?

If it is (or if people can identify a different problem) what's the damage?

PS the boiler is Worcester Bosch Greenstar 24i Junior.

They are putting in Radio broadband into my village (which I so much want to happen) but I'm worried about the above details. BT got wind and of course want them out of the picture so are bullshitting about their fibre (FTTC) product now after years and years of being total c*nts. Anyway, it's about risk I guess, I'm not outlaying shedloads or anything but wondered if this data at Companies House means that the provider it essentially fecked and about to fold. If it's a case of struggling a bit then I'm not so worried and my cash may help.

I'm not that short of cash but not a mug. Outlay to me would be £140 up front for some kit to install and £50 per month for the top service

Bear in mind I've been stuck on 1.5mb down and 400kb up for fecking years under those total shits at BT. I hate that lot.

So, as a consumer speaking to the company law and accountancy boffins, what's going on here?

50/50

jeudi 20 mars 2014

I'm sure sure where else to turn... our small community club is owed monies from the CPFC 50/50 scheme last season. I have tried to contact the club (Saron Lacey and Customer Services) to no avail - who should I email? A couple of hundred pounds is a lot of money to us! Thanks.

Main Stand

I must say Im quite pleased with this so far, the ends still need to be done, the wires removed and we need to get some signage on but I think its a massive improvement.

A few people have asked is its a waste of money given we want to redevelop. It will be there at least two years probably more because of what we have in mind, the roof was leaking into some areas , the inside of the stairwells looked like a temporary building site which made it hard to sell some areas of the ground for hospitality and the whole thing looked so bad I just couldn't stand looking at it any more nor I am sure would any potential sponsor really feel like being associated with it .

The whole car park aspect of the stadium is looking much better , together with all the improvements to guttering (not sure if you've noticed but you don't get soaked in the rain if you sit at the front of the main stand any more) and the inside of the stand I think its been money well spent.

The cladding was around 200K for the record
