Its taken a while and has been brought out on a Sunday but finally one of the major health institutions is trying to raise the very real danger facing General Practice and the GP service that we know and most rely on at some point.

It really isn't very far from the tipping point of falling over. More and more surgeries are closing and then when the contract gets handed back the Local Area Teams of NHS England often award contracts to private or NHS companies, leading to satisfaction levels amongst GP's. Nurses, staff and patients all dropping.
Doubt anyone will take any notice, especially given the comments from DoH at the end showing they have no idea what is going on and NHS England who go back to when GP workload was significantly increased to point out a timeframe when funding increased.
People think it is hard getting a GP appointment at the moment, without changes it will only get worse.
