Turning to our BBS friends based in California for some travel advice please. I'm heading over there in March for a couple of concerts, first in Sacramento, then in San Jose two days later.
I fly into San Francisco, so what's the best way to get from there to Sacramento? I arrive in SF at 9am. I realise I could fly from SF to Sacramento, but that involves at least a 4 hour changeover. Should I alternatively get the bus or a train (I don't want to hire a car)?
On the day after the concert in Sacramento, I need to get to San Jose. What's the best way to do that - bus, train or fly? Looks like Amtrak train takes just over 3 hours - is it reliable (as far as trains are ever reliable)?
On the day after the concert in San Jose, I need to get back to SF for the flight back to Sydney. So same question, what's the best way to do that, bus or train (realise it would be too short to make a flight worthwhile)?
I don't need to spend time in SF - been there before etc. I would rather have a bit of time in Sacramento where I haven't been before. I'll have no time really in San Jose, as need to leave t
I've obviously googled all this, but would be interested to hear tips from local knowledge. Thanks in advance!
