I am sure I’m not alone in feeling distressed, angry and deeply disturbed by the current crisis in Ukraine. I’m writing to you today about an auction I am starting in aid of the current refugee and displaced persons campaign for Ukraine being carried out by the Disasters Emergency Committee.
They strike me as particularly good to support, in that they also have presence within Ukraine as well as in neighbouring countries. This is something that is within my power to do in order to help, so I hope you can support me with this project.
I am auctioning off my remaining inventory of paintings, which some of you will be familiar with. I’ve created two pages on my website, showing the items for auction, their reserve prices, and some guidelines for participating. I’m afraid this is a fairly primitive mechanism for auction, in that I can’t support real-time competitive bidding, but I think what I’m proposing will work. I really hope that some of you will seize the opportunity to own one or more of my paintings, and at the same time provide some help to innocent people in unimaginable suffering at the hands of foreign aggression.
The auction closing date is April 21st.
