Another worrying aspect to the bill. Union laws are already the most draconian in Europe, with secondary strikes banned, political strikes banned, and a raft of restrictions which make national strike action almost impossible for many unions. Strike action has now been at record lows for three decades, with far more strikes taking place in any given year during world war 2 (a staggering figure). Thresholds to get strike action are now higher than many MPs get in terms of turnout and far higher than most local elections.
And yet politicans praise political strikes elsewhere in the world such as in Myanmar yet they would be illegal here.
This bill will make things even worse.
