Nou Camp legend Rivaldo claimed earlier this month that the PSG man is the only player who can replace Lionel Messi.
"Messi won’t last forever. One day his final match will arrive and he will leave football,” he told Betfair.
“Now he is making the difference, scoring goals… but you have to have another player to play his actual role.
"Just one player can be the substitute of Messi in Barcelona and that player is Neymar.
“He was wrong leaving Barcelona, but, if he returns, he will be able to make the difference as Messi is doing now."
Ernesto Valverde upped the ante with an interesting cash-plus player deal worth £182m.
But a transfer failed to get over the line as both parties wrangled over cash.
"I know other clubs were also negotiating with PSG. At one point during the negotiations, Neymar asked PSG to only negotiate with Barca. He decided only to join Barca.
"Neymar did what he had to do, he told his club about his decision, he did everything possible, but this year he will play at PSG."
