June 2013
Iain Moody, Head of Recruitment/Director of Football, at Cardiff FC makes their record signing, Andreas Cornelius, aged 20.
Cardiff pay FC Copenhagen an initial 75 million Danish krona( £8 million) in a deal that with add-ons can rise to £11 million. They also pay a signing on fee to Cornelius of £1.5 million and a 5 year contract worth £11.7 million. This is as a result of his previous season in the Danish Superliga where he made 34 appearances and 18 goals.
Nigel Pearson, Leicester manager, suggests that Leicester were also interested, but were more thinking in terms of a "£500,000" fee.

January 2014
Cornelius returns to FC Copenhagen after making 8 Premiership appearances and scoring 0 goals. The fee is suggested to be £3 million.

November 2017
Iain Moody is pictured at Crystal Palace sitting next to Mark Bright. Steve Parish confirms in following months that Moody is back at Palace working in a consultancy role with Doug Freedman in player recruitment.

January 2018
Crystal Palace sign Alexander Sorloth, aged 22, from Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland. Palace sign Sorloth in a record Danish deal that the Danish press call "absurd" in terms of his experience.
Sorloth was signed by Midtjlland in August 2017 for approx £300,000 from FC Groningen where he made 38 appearances scoring 5 goals. He then made 19 appearances scoring 10 goals for FC Midtjylland in the six months he was there.
Palace pay 75 million Danish krona (£8.8 million, now due to pound weakness) in a deal with add-ons can rise to £16.5 million. This was after their original bid of 38 million Krona was rejected. Palace also agree to 25% of any profit from a sell -on.
To date, Sorloth has made 16 Premiership appearance with 0 goals.

Anyone notice any similarities in the two deals?
