Okay, so this isn't one for now, but given the Watkins thread and the seeming desire for us to be picking people up from the lower leagues to develop, a friend of mine was raving about Dru Yearwood at Southend (who he supports).
He's an 18 year old central midfielder, who only made his debut last season (I think) but in that short space of time got an England u18 call up.
You would imagine this sort of thing would be a relatively low risk signing, in terms of fee and wages, and that in a few years we'd hopefully be able to make our money back at worst, whereas he could turn out to be something special.
From what he said (which could be rubbish) there's already been some interest from higher up the leagues, so might be worth a look. Never seen him play personally, but he sounded like the sort of low risk signing that people wanted us to look at.
Plus it would really piss my mate off ;)
