I was watching this Copa Libertadores game, played in Sao Paolo in Brazil, last night.
With about 10 minutes to go, it all started going off with Santos fans chucking flares onto the pitch, trying to get through the barriers onto the pitch, and the police responding with batons. Eventually the players and coaching staff got involved too.
Some reports refer to the 3-0 penalty against Santos for fielding an ineligible player in the 1st leg. But I'm not sure how much a factor this was in the trouble, I didn't see any until around the 80th minute. It's not the first time I've seen things like this in South American games, Brazilian games in particular.
