The current decline in UK car sales is not just due to poor sales. I'm a company car driver and around 30 guys ha e been unable to order new vehicles for around 6 months. The lead time seems to have increased to around 9 months!!!!! The cost in taxation has also gone up dramatically. Manufacturers have also increased Co2 figures in the wake of the fiddling scandal. This has affected our company so much that they have announced that current leases can be extended to 5 years and they are reallocating leavers cars to those who's lease expires after that.
It seems that the manufacturers are treading water waiting for the government to announce that they are using the new method for calculating Co2. Hopefully this Sept.
