Hoping someone can help me with some advice. I currently work for a property company in town (5 years). I worked in the accounts department as an accountant. As the company grew i got more and more involved in the property management side and was eventually asked to move department into Property management. My old role as accountant was filled.
A junior member of the accounts department has left today and they dont want to spend the money replacing him.
They have asked me to go back to the accounts department and do his role (bought ledger and credit control) keeping one building of my management portfolio -obviously to try and keep me happy..
In essence, I'd be a massively overpaid accounts assistant. Something i dont want to do.
Can i refuse this? And if i do, what rights do i have for redundancy?
