Your personal examples of a catch-22 situation

Brexit and its complexities, particular over the Irish border, had me thinking of other apparently impossible situations to resolve.

When I was a member of Shrewsbury Men's Hockey there was an attempt to merge with the women's hockey club.

A meeting was held to vote on the issue. An advocate of not merging raised an objection as soon as the meeting commenced, arguing that the meeting was unconstitutional as many members of the club had not been informed of it.

As passions on both sides were really high, this caused lots of arguing before the chairman suggested that the only way to resolve things was to have a vote on whether the meeting was unconstitutional or not.

That idea ended when it was pointed out that it if the meeting was unconstitutional then the vote to determine whether the meeting was unconstitutional or not, was in itself unconstitutional.
