Just been informed that Andy Barnes who played for Chipstead, Sutton Utd. and Palace has died of a cardiac arrest aged 51.
I believe he was injured playing for us in his first reserve fixture which ended his career although subsequently he played 20 minutes for the first team, I think in order to sort out insurance.
A top club cricketer and a lovely bloke who I played a bit of football with.
