Home cinema experts?

Thought this would be the best section for this but we are looking at a variety of options for upgrading a smallish cinema room (6 seats) that we gave up our garage for a while back. Pretty sure some of you will know a lot more than me so....

We are interested in upgrading our projector to 4K HDR and I will come back to that later if that’s OK. We ‘may’ also upgrade to Atmos from the 7.2 we have today. It’s all sounding a lot more expensive than we expected but would rather look at doing it ‘properly once now’ if we can so we can just enjoy it rather than do it incrementally. Can’t take it with you etc once we have added it all up we can downgrade components to fit what feels good value. We have had an Oppo 95 and had planned to upgrade to their best new model but are being pushed to look seriously at a Kaleidescape system. Basically a proprietary system comprising hard drives/Blu-ray player, digital shop that sells legit Blu-ray downloads etc. At 4K hdr or anything below. The idea that this would be used for the blockbuster ‘showoff’ Movies but other sources for the run of the mill stuff.

So long intro but I thought I could add further questions later if there are gurus out there.

1 - My first question is that iTunes have 4K movies but does anyone know how they differ from say the 4K hdr Blu-ray. I.e. are they cut down versions? I noticed that the 4kHDR Blu-ray cost about £25-30 and on Kaleidescape can sometimes be over £33. But iTunes are nothing like that currently.

2 - does anyone on here have Kaleidescape and if so what do you think?

3 - considering 3 different Sony projectors. The new laser one and the 2 models below that. So quite a price variance. Anyone know anything useful about these? The laser is pricey (cheap comparatively in am assured) but doesn’t have the hassle of bulbs and dimming etc over time and sounds remarkable by all accounts. If we do that it may trade off against quality of sound upgrades though.

Any insights welcomed. As info also being suggested we swap out our Anthem DV2 for an Arcam something or other. :) sheesh. :)
