Roy Hodgson?
His record is excellent. You don't become England manager for nothing. He went abroad when hardly any other English managers did. He could work with Sammy Lee. Parish will like that he is a Croydon boy and 'South London and Proud'. He seems like a decent man like Graham Taylor and Bobby Robson and the others.
Could be a stability manager for two years or so.
Available so no compensation to be paid.
My question is, at his age, does he still have some fire in his belly?

Thomas Tuchel as our next manager
I thought Tuchel deserved a thread of his own.
Please let this happen..

Rumour: Serge Aurier
I don't know how true this is or even a possibility but I came across some PSG fans talking on twitter and they believe he is heading to Palace. i've seen reports lately he's refused to sign a new contract but surely not?
Laptop/Tablet
Need to get a new Laptop/Tablet primarily for my daughter to use for her GCSE's any recommendations for what's out there and reasonably priced.
Will need to be able to run Windows 10

Buying a Tradmill
Any advise on best way to go about this?
Cheap and relatively leightweight preferable, though I'm not a small lad these days - so will need to take my weight :D
Local shopping sites/apps any good to use? I've had a quick look on gumtree...
Damn, needless to say should be TREADMILL :wallbash:

Transgender sports participation
Are there any standard rules / policies over participation in women's sports by transgendered individuals?
I ask as my daughter played in a women's cricket game yesterday and 2 of the opposition looked as if they were 40+ year old transwomen.
It was very confusing as one of them was the wicketkeeper and called out the bowling changes in a voice deeper than mine. Thankfully they were no better than the rest of the team, but would their previous history possibly be an unfair advantage?

2017/18 fixtures
Fixtures released 14/6
Starts 12/8, finishes 13/5
Those with a better memory than me....how long is it before first lot of TV changes are confirmed? A few weeks I think?
Looking at EFL there fixture are released a week after ours (but season starts a week earlier) and there TV changes are announced 13/7

Our standing in the European Game
We're all enjoying these golden years of being a Palace fan...our longest period in the top flight, playing in a cup final, having some excellent internationals in our squad..it's almost unrecognisable from the Palace we knew just a few years ago.
But looking at (for the most part) an uninspiring list of managerial candidates and with Garry Monk odds on, what's the reality of where our club is in the game? Could we attract a title winning manager from Holland or a top talent from the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 or La Liga? Or is it the case that we are a small, provincial club with a pisspot ground and limited potential, and the likes of Monk is the best we can do?
Every fan believes their club is special, but being objective, what's the truth?

Afternoon sleep/naps
Do you ever have a kip during the day?
I find these days by lunchtime, especially during weekends and when our two and half year old daughter has her nap I quite often too will fall asleep on the sofa. I've also been known at work during lunch to have a power nap in the car. Am I just on my own with this or do the BBS posters enjoy an afternoon/midday kip? Or is it abnormal at my age (40)?

Match Updates: Championship Play Off Final: Reading vs Huddersfield
Should be a decent and close game. Have a feeling Huddersfield will be the one's who get promoted though.
Next but one manager
its sort of quite interesting who our next manager will be but given the way football is we all know AN New Manager will be gone in Dec/Jan so who do we think we'll get next ?
I reckon Sam to come back on a short term contract to save us. You heard it here first :)

Vote for Hopkins goal
dimanche 28 mai 2017
The BBC is holding a poll asking for viewers to vote for their favourite Championship play-off moment. Voting starts at 1pm and ends at 5.30. The winner will be announced shortly after 5.30.
Full details are on the BBC sport website but among the 8 candidates for favourite play-off moment are David Hopkin's spectacular last minute winner against Sheffield United in 1997 and also Steve Claridge's flakey winner against us the previous season.
I would encourage all Palace fans to go on-line and vote for Hopkin's goal - easily our favourite moment of the 8 available options.

Ronaldinho
I just spent a couple of hours watching him play a friendly. It was an utter joy. I know he never gets mentioned in those top five ever, because he was a bit of a waster, but really, has there ever been a player who gave such pleasure to everyone, whether you supported his team or the opposition?
2016 Cup Final One year on.
Please indulge me here…
A year has passed and after watching the Chelsea/Arsenal game yesterday I think I’m ready to move on.
I just wanted to put together a little memory of that day a year ago, as it was so special to me personally regardless of the outcome.
First before I forget, I must once again thank a certain prominent BBS member for out of the blue contacting me with the offer of a ticket. We had met one time as his family passed through Los Angeles a few years ago, so this was an extremely thoughtful gesture and one I jumped at. You know who you are… thank you again.
I flew in on the Friday, and as the plane approached Heathrow, Wembley Stadium and the arch were clearly visible and the nerves stared to kick-in knowing that in less than 24 hours I would actually be inside the place for the first time in my life (old or new Wembley).
I was staying with my cousin in Bromley off of Westmorland Road, and on the Saturday morning my cousin’s husband gave me a lift up to Bromley South station at about 11:00am. The first thing that shocked me was the number of groups of people walking towards the station in Red & Blue, in Palace shirts and paraphernalia. As a Palace fan in the 70’s and early 80’s a Palace fan at Bromley South was pretty rare – 5 or 6 people at the most. Once at the station and on the platform the numbers just intensified, and then on the train itself masses of Palace shirts everywhere. I was already buzzing and in shock at the numbers. At Victoria, everywhere was Red & Blue and it was not even noon yet. Flags and banners hanging from the pubs… not a Man United fan to be seen.
I was meeting up with my Ticket sponsor at The Northcote Clapham Junction. All went to plan and he showed up with tickets… not that I ever doubted him, but to see the ticket was a relief. The upstairs bar was set aside for the occasion, and filled to capacity pretty quick… The Palace related music and singing/chanting rocked the place (and the streets below). It was great to see some old faces of people I’ve met over the years as they passed through Los Angeles, or in some cases lived there. I was introduced to some BBS members I knew only by their BBS name, and others I recognized from photos that have appeared on the BBS. I was introduced to Steve Browett which was an honor. The man truly is one of our own, and about as down to earth as could be.
I had promised myself to not drink alcohol and to limit liquid consumption. I was not about to fulfill a lifetime ambition fuzzy from alcohol or miss anything having to rush off to the toilet (I’ve lived in the US for 30 years so lost the ability to drink beer). I achieved both by drinking a few bottles of non-alcoholic Becks and taking more than a few pees at the pub – I could still enjoy the moment.
Off to Wembley and packed tubes of Palace fans, and the first sightings of Manchester United tourist. A group of Asia gents in United Cup Final shirts looking bemused and somewhat scared! Other United fans on the last tube, but all was friendly and cordial. The long walk (well long for me) to the stadium in light drizzle and then the first sighting of the arch. Another toilet break and then on to the seats. Absolutely fantastic location – front row second tier in-line with the penalty area at the Palace end. I just sat taking it all in.
Already the Palace fans filled the end and were singing, banners and flags waving. Has Wembley ever seen such passion from a team’s fans? – the precedence has been set. The Manchester end desolate and quiet. The singing of Abide with Me, which seemed to get a bit messed up and didn’t get me like I thought it would. The National Anthem and the game begins.
I’m a bit out of practice at watching a game live and not on TV, and it look me a while to adjust. The Clattenburg incidents came and went, the first half ends and Palace have made a good account of themselves. Second half and Palace score, and all I can think of at the time it was going to be given as offside – we are right in line with Puncheon, and all I see is him looking offside to me. It took away some of the pleasure, but that was just me.
The inevitable follows and United go on to win, a couple of infiltrating Man United fans let down their guard and are exposed causing some scenes, but they are kicked out and we move on. I look around and there is a lot of sadness, more so than I am feeling myself. At this point I realize that these people watch Palace week in week out far and wide across the country. This means so much more to them than it did to me. After 30 years away I have lost a little bit of that passion… I really felt for these people around me, more than my own sadness. This was an adventure to me, the fulfilment of a life’s goal. Win or lose I was a winner, but to these folks I know it meant more.
So, we depart long after most United fans, who couldn’t even stay to see the cup be presented or the celebration. The long line to get to the station, the goodbyes and on to Bromely. Tubes full of many United fans looking smug, but unemotional. Palace fans on the train back to Bromley are down but getting on with it, young kids not too downbeat, and parents talking about other things that matter in their lives.
Monday back to the US, and at Heathrow I see numerous Palace shirts as Palace fans head back to their homes around the world. The plane departs and I wonder when next I will come to England (My last visit had been 11 years prior). Would I see Palace again in the flesh? I felt very melancholy on many fronts.
To this day I have not read the programme. It sits on my desk unopened. I have the flag they gave us at Wembley on the wall, and videos/photos of the day on my phone. Despite this, I’m so happy I came – I didn’t make the effort to come to the 1990 Cup Final and I would live to regret this. I never thought I would get the chance again. Thank you Palace – you made an aging fan happy for a day, and in true Palace fashion you did so while losing!

Who I would love us to speak to regarding our manager vacancy
Diego Simeone the Athletico Madrid Manager, now this is someone who could bring us sublime players and make us a genuine force. Look we have been told that we have owners now that are billionaires, surely they would be willing to spend a couple of hundred million to put us up with the likes of Chelsea and Man City ????.

Mauricio Pelligrino
Not sure what to make of this but oddschecker are no longer showing prices for Mauricio Pelligrino who was linked with Palace a few days ago. He was previously on the board at 40-1.
He's just said he's announcing his future on Monday.

Will be released by Man City this summer, always seemed a decent keeper. Big upgrade on Wayne anyhow. 35 years old so not our long term number one but could be useful for a couple of seasons.Thoughts?
Rumour: Roberto Inglese (striker)
Mail says we are after Inglese (nice name ;)), from Chievo (Verona).
Glaziers Fan
Never started a thread before but was so angry by what he wrote regarding Steve Parish that I just wanted to know whether he had been banned for it?
I realise this place must be a nightmare to moderate but I really don't want to see disgusting things like that written on the boards.

Tin Foil Hat
A mate of mine's been banging on for ages at me to watch this rather long documentary, he's a sucker for conspiracy, so I took an age to get round to it. Only watched half hour so far, but whether you take it for gospel or not, it still makes interesting viewing (so far at least). I wondered if anybody else had watched it, or if they had any thoughts on the subject.
I did a search to see if anybody else had already covered it, but couldn't find anything. Apologies if so.

Phone contracts: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Just a thread to vent your spleen or praise your mobile provider. Have they given you good service or do they frustrate the hell out of you?
I've had a contact data sim with 3 and wanted to upgrade it to a voice sim to replace the Vodafone one in my phone to save having two contracts on the go. Both upgrades and cancellations departments at 3 separately just tried to offer me the same deals that were on the public website despite being with them on contract for over five years. Cancellations then tried to offer me a lesser allowance data sim as an upgrade despite being useless for a mobile phone!
Cancellation notice given and going with a third party 3 reseller for a pretty good deal.
That's it out of my system and I can start worrying about the new manager again:)

Sean Dyche as manager
Now we don't need the Silva thread any more it's time to start the Sean Dyche speculation thread.
I wouldn't be unhappy with Dyche. I think he would be the solid dependable no relegation type manager that we need now for a couple of seasons rather than the exciting foreign "take us to the next level" type that a lot of people seem to want.
It's whether he would come to Palace and I'm not sure he would see it as a big enough step up from Burnley.
I think at the least he would insist on fitness and team spirit and they are very good places to start.

Hi all I'm slightly rebranding my business and am looking for the BBS assistance
Currently I have "same shirt different day" on the rear and the company name and number. Lots of customers comment and like it and have got a fair amount of work from them
I am now looking for similar amusing one liners for plumbing carpentry and electrical work
So can you guys help me sensible ones funny ones and there's bound to be some that are unusable lol

British Airways IT failure
All BA flights from Heathrow and Gatwick cancelled until 18.00 due to an IT failure.
After the NHS cyber attack a couple of weeks ago my first thought is whether something similar has occurred here. Hopefully not and so far no media is reporting that as a possibility or speculating about it. Will be interesting to hear developments. Sounds like it is a global system failure.

Next season: Zaha and Benteke upfront please
Whoever our manager is going to be, I'd like to see Zaha and Benteke up front together. Benteke is much more effective when he is not isolated. Zaha is wasted on the wing, and more importantly wasted when tracking back to help the defence. We know he can defend, we know he is effective in wide areas. But if we can get him closer to Benteke he will produce more for the team. He's a street footballer, he is good in the tackle and can win the ball higher up the pitch for us.
I don't care if it's 4-4-2, or 3-5-2. I don't even mind if it becomes 4-4-1-1 or 3-5-1-1. I'd like to see Zaha even further up the pitch. He scored 7 goals last season, and part of that is because he was given roles closer to the centre and further forward. However I think he can score 10-15 goals if given even more responsibility. I also think Benteke would score 20+. Delivery needs to improve, and defensive solidity needs to remain. But let's give our talisman more of an opportunity to hurt the opposition. We can do it, and it'll improve our home form at the same time.

Match Updates: FA CUP FINAL 2017: Arsenal v Chelsea
Kick off: 17:30
Will Chelsea be the first side in 7 years to win the double?
Is this Wenger's last game?
Is Ospina really playing ahead of Cech?
Will Conte or Arsene emulate Pardew's goal celebration dance?
Does anyone really care about the FA Cup Final anymore?

A good friend who had has close links to your club reckons Monk is in final talks with Parish and due to be announced as Manager early next week.
Could do worse I suppose... About the right level for both Monk and the club. I think he could really take you places!
Anyway, don't shoot the messenger! :p

Hello from the seaside
Hello Palace fans,
Looking forward to meeting again next season. We owe you one after the play offs :)

Rumour: Kamil Grosicki
Polish media suggesting that if Silva comes, he'll want Grosicki.
I'm all for it - a far better back up for Townsend than the likes of Lee and Sakho.

Whatever happened to Jonathan Williams?
I haven't heard him mentioned for ages. On loan at Ipswich officially but hardly seems to have played as far as I can tell although he was deemed good/fit enough to played for Wales at Euro 2016.
Is he still under contract? Long-term injured? I'm not expecting to see him at Palace again but I'm curious.

Palace For Life Foundation marathon march
I'm sure that people have seen it on the Palace website, but a Marathon March in aid of the Palace For Life Foundation has been arranged for 7th October 2017 - 10, 16 or 26.2 miles.
Having completed the London Marathon many years ago, I saw it on the Website yesterday, felt I needed / was up for the challenge and so have signed up for the 26.2 miles (Selhurst Park to Trafalgar Square)!
Let's make it a day to remember and give something back...and a bit of a plug (sorry), but if it's not for you, you can't commit to it, you would not physically be able to complete or any other reason you would not be able to take part, I on the Just Giving page for it, so please feel free to donate - registered as Chris Jury, but I know that donations to anyone taking part would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Stag do costume help - sainsbury's/allders outfit needed
Hi all,
I'm organising a stag do for my best bud. He's very 'business' so the theme is dressing him up in the various roles he's had in his life. In the mid 90's we worked at sainsburys warlingham and then Allders so I'm trying to find a sainsburys/allders outfit but I can't get one for love nor money. Does anyone have one I could borrow? I'm just checking on measurements but he's probably a 34/36 waist, 6ft.
I've approached Sainsburys but they don't have any spares and it's against company policy (which I understand.)
Any help with this will be the final piece of the jigsaw and all outfits will be returned clean and beautiful.

Thought I'd get in there early! ;) Good player, obviously, did well at Hull. Young. Could play as a 2nd striker. Take a free kick even? Serbian, so will know Luka Milivojevic. We seem to do well with Liverpool players :p

just reported on talk sport our new manager possibly ?
Sciatica
Played football 2 weeks ago, felt a sharp pain in my back... Stupidly stayed on and hobbled through the last 10 mins. Got home that night, and I was in agony. Took 2 days off work... The pain went from a 9/10 to a 6/10... So I went back to work. My job requires me to sit down for long periods at a time... After 4 days back at work, I was in terrible pain.. I now have pain in my right hip, down my leg and in to my ankle. Doc gave me Neproxem (sp), which helps the back pain, but not the pain in hip/leg/ankle.
Do I man up and wait it out?

Next Palace Manager betting
Always worth having a punt on this as we tend to get a lot of rumours on the BBS before they hit the news.
My usual approach is to back a couple of outsiders that would make sense and lay anyone who's about to have an interview as they're usually heavily odds-on when being reported to be on the verge of signing. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't,
So far I've had a crack at Silva 12-1 on betfair sportsbook

Suggestion: Zaha as Player Manager
Come on, there's not too much to management these days. He'd pick an XI, make himself the captain, and then organise the huddle. At least with Wilf we know he's not going to **** off any time soon. Thoughts?
Zaha: new contract
Zaha: captain
Zaha: manager

News coverage of terrorist attacks
mardi 23 mai 2017
The same can apply to mass shootings - does exhaustive media coverage of such events help to breed more? Is the posthumous fame part of the attraction for the perpetrators?
It's a tricky one - news outlets have a duty to offer the facts, and if they don't, rumour and falsehoods will spread still further on social media.
But should the media, the printed press in particular, keep it as dry as possible? Unless it is in the best interests of the police and the authorities, should names and photographs of the perpetrators be omitted, or at least minimalised, and not splashed across front pages?
Similarly, should photographs of the victims be splashed across front pages and double-page spreads, or is it insensitive to friends and family?
A free press is essential, and I'm not remotely endorsing any type of censorship, but does sensationalist coverage, with every minute detail included, add to the problem, and even encourage copycats?

Jokanovic
Just a suggestion done a superb job with Fulham some bookies have him as one of the favourites although it is to early to have anything concrete. A young manager though looking for some continuity rather than chopping and changing all the time.
Please move on!
Bfs has gone. He's done the job, got the bonus for keeping us up. Good luck to him. Now, instead of wringing our hands and pointing fingers and calling names, let's just wait to see who the next manager is and get behind him.

Palace Fan resigns
I know this will come as a shock to everyone, at the end of an ultimately successful struggle to stay in the Premier League. It is no reflection on the administration of the club, on transfer targets, the players, or anything else. However, at _____ (insert current age), I have decided to retire from the tremendously stressful role of supporter of Crystal Palace football club. I want to spend time doing other things and with my family, while I still can. The pressures of following this football club are incredibly high, and there is more to life that I want to experience. I did in my extreme youth, in the early 1970s, disgrace myself by pretending to support Leeds United, and I am grateful that Crystal Palace then gave me the chance to redeem myself, and to support a proper football team. I have no plans to take another supporter role in the future, and look forward to retirement. In some ways this has been a difficult decision, but in other ways an easy one. The stresses and ups and downs of supporting this club in the highest pressure football league in the world are something you can only take for so long. I would like to wish the directors, the fans, the players, and my replacement as supporter all the very best for the future.
Thank you Big Sam
You came in and did the job you were asked to do.
Thank you for giving us plenty of notice and not walking away with a massive wedge in your pocket, unlike some.
You deserve a happy and healthy retirement. Just don't rock up at another club and relegate us later in the season.
All the best :)

I'll sponsor you alright, but only after you complete the challenge because, frankly, I don't think you'll do it. I reiterate what I said on your 'just giving' thing when I asked why not just do the league games and have done with it. I did route 4 a couple of months ago, doing 95, then 98 miles, in two day, and it was hell. I just don't think this can be done. Sorry. Good luck though and all that.

A player that would take us to the next level in my opinion. 15 goals and 10 assists in Seria A last season. Can play in the number 10 role but also out wide so that would strengthen 2 key areas for us. Go get him Big Sam!
Business Sale Legal Advice
Wondering if the combined might of the BBS can help me out with a bit of a legal advice regarding the sale of a business.
late last year I listed my business for sale with an agency, with the strict proviso that I must see the full details of potential purchasers before the company disclosed full financial details to them. They have not been very good at doing this, and one of the first things that happened is that some "investor" that they had on the books, visited my premises out of the blue when I was out of the office and discussed the sale of the business with my staff (not good!).
Since then they have been quite rubbish and the leads they put through are generally pretty poor, however they sent me a signed NDA a couple of weeks ago with a false address, and where the potential purchaser had to put position the put "seated" this shows their level of due diligence. They have given me seven details of purchasers that have enquired of my business over the last 8 months, but my seller dashboard on their website shows over 20 information packs have been sent out (i.e 13 without my consent)
I have requested this information, an explanation of the lack of due diligence and a full refund due to inadequate and poor service. However over the last two weeks they have refused to respond to me whatsoever.
My question is that I have no problem with suing them if necessary for a refund of fees paid due to poor service, but the fact that they have been sending details of my business financials to persons not authorised by me, means that it is very difficult to quantify any sort of loss for damage or compensation.
If anyone has any ideas it would be very helpful, thanks.

Player Ratings And Reviews: End of season 2016/17
I'm sure I will leave some out by accident, but let's kick this off:
Mandanda 5 There were mistakes and he didn't live up to the hype. Then injury, and rumours about being unsettled. Not a huge miss if he goes back to Marseilles
Henessey 5.5 The odd decent performance punctuated by errors, most of which have gone unpunished. Improved after losing a stone. Will be lucky to start as No1 next season
Fryers 4 Completely out of his depth
Schlupp 7 Has defended solidly (decent in the tackle) and used his pace to good effect, breaking forward with serious pace. Still raw, but an excellent addition to the squad, and with such incredible power and pace he is fairly versatile.
Van Aanholt 6.5 Crucial goal at home to Boro. He is a solid pro, highly rated by Allardyce. I don't think we've seen the best of him in an attacking sense, but he has defended reasonably well.
Delaney 5 Winding down now
Dann 7 I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Whilst some of the performances were not anywhere near the 8/10 we've seen in seasons gone by, he still scored some goals. The one away to Bournemouth turned our season around, hence the higher score than most will give him. Would like him to get fit, stay fit and then it'll be interesting to see how he can do under Big Sam. Because I feel he is suited to our new style of play (he was excellent under Pulis).
Tomkins 7 Showed terrific form under Big Sam. A quality player who is beginning to settle in after a rocky start.
Sakho 8 Oozes class. He also can be credited for an unbelievable contribution to our survival.
Kelly 6 A solid pro, he was decent in some games at centre back, but lacks the mobility, physical strength and aerial ability to be anything other than a squad player.
Ward 7 I'm not a fan of him as going forward he lacks composure, pace and is weak at crossing. He's also not the perfect defender. But credit where it is due, he is professional, always gives it 100% and is definitely up to Premiership level. He's had a fairly good season actually. Hopefully will remain a valuable member of the squad.
Ledley 4 He's finished at this level I'm afraid. Hopefully released
Flamini 5 Legs have gone I'm afraid. Hopefully released
Puncheon 5.5 Gets a bonus for doing well as captain, but the performances have led a lot to be desired. Still gives the ball away too much, doesn't contribute enough defensively, slows the play down and the goals have dried up. That said he has Palace in his heart, and decent technical ability so i think he still has a part to play from the subs bench.
McArthur 6 His score boosted by the goals earlier in the season, he doesn't look the same player, and his score for 2017 would be a 5 at best. He simply doesn't have the quality required to be anything more than a squad player going forward.
Milivojevic 7 Has had a big influence on the team, he can break up play, but he's more than that. He's a very clever midfielder, reads the game well, and can pass pretty well for a defensive mid. His penalties have been fantastic, and his free-kicks pretty good too. I wonder if he could take the corners? I think we haven't seen the best of him; he understandably tired towards the end of the season - he will come on for a rest and a pre-season.
Cabaye 7 Has been crucial recently. Luka has helped him play his natural game. Sadly, I think he will be sold, but would be really happy for him to sign a new contract here as although he can only last 65 mins he oozes class, is technically superb and can press/tackle.
Townsend 7 A poor start, but has done well under Big Sam. Full of energy and running, I don't think we've seen the best of him yet either. I think once he has settled he could score 10 and assist 10 on a regular basis. Has the end product.
Sako 5 Limited opportunities, but I think Big Sam likes him and that he will stay for another season. Not sure he has the mobility to make it in this league, but happy for him to be a squad player if only for us to see his rocket of a shot again.
Wickham 6 Played ok at the start of the season, and was looking sharper than ever just before his bad injury. Hope he is back soon, he'd be great cover.
Benteke 7.5 Terrific start, 15 goals and numerous others that have come back off the woodwork. And all this despite poor deliveries into the box, and being isolated for huge chunks of matches. He is technically excellent for such a big guy, and the best in the air in the Premiership. What a player. Can't wait to see him with a strike partner or Zaha slightly closer
Zaha 8.5 Our Player of the Year was absolutely superb yet again. Incredible workrate, skill and now goals and assists. He improves every season. Love him on the left - most of his goals have come from this side. If we can keep him I think he could be devastating closer to Benteke if we don't sign another first XI striker. We need to get the fouls in and around the penalty area not 30 yards further back, but big credit to Big Sam for playing him higher up, closer to Benteke on occasion and leaving him up when defending corners. The scary thing is he might do even better next season!
Big Sam 8 Signings were superb, style of play totally suited to this group. Could be one of our greatest ever managers if he harnesses the talent in the group and is allowed to add to it. One good window and Top 8 is what we should be aiming for.

Best moments of the season
It not been dull this season and while there has been some disappointing days this season but we have also had some good ones. What are some of your favourite moments on the season?
Mine are:
Mine are:
- Beating Stoke 4-1 in the most straightforward wins in the whole season.
- Winning at West Brom and Pulis getting chants about his house being taken.
- Winning away to Chelsea, I thought when they went ahead it could be a long afternoon and less than eight minutes later we lead. Watching the rest of the game was horrible but when it eventually ended (and I thought it never would) it was brilliant.
- The game against Arsenal. I knew if the crowd were on side and we had a good atmosphere we could win. What I did not think we could do was win as convincingly as we did and completely outplay them.
- Beating Hull to guarantee survival.
Palace's poorest signing play-off
With the silly season now upon us, and following on from Big Sam's recent transfer comments, may I suggest we attempt to find Palace's poorest ever signing by pitting one poor signing against another until we hit rock bottom.
Factors to consider on top of plain rank play are; cost, matches played, depravity of behaviour, who they replaced, and damage to team formation/morale plus any other you want to bring into consideration.
I will kick off with two recent disasters:
Jimmy 'flip-flop' Kebe versus Jordan 'not' Mutch 'Kop'

BBS Goal of the Season
Saw a video on CPFC twitter of our 50 goals this season. Simple question then, which would be your goal of the season?
There are a few contenders for me, Zaha's thunderbolt against Hull, Zaha's scissor kick against Swansea, Townsend's solo effort against WBA, but for me it would be Benteke's audacious effort against Chelsea. When he stopped the ball dead I remember thinking "what on earth are you doing?!" and then to see him impudently chip the ball over Courtois was out of this world. For a Palace player to have the composure to do that in such a big game was something unlike I've ever seen. So many times we've blown gilt-edged chances against big teams but that was a goal of genuine class. To go on and win the game made it all the sweeter.
Will try to add a poll now.

TV Shows you totally gave up on
There are so many new shows on various platforms these days that it's hard to choose which ones to start watching, let alone finish them. Some of them might improve if you give them time, but frankly, I'm getting far more brutal in condemning them to eternal damnation, often before even the first episode has ended.
The following shows have all recently been put on my shit list:
Westworld - all the ingredients are there for a great show, it's just ******* boring
The Wire - I've given it numerous attempts, ******* boring
The Leftovers - made by the same people as Lost, always disappearing up their own arses
Sense8 - could tell it was going to get too confusing
Divorce - my wife started watching it. Man hating crap, gave up when she took her teenage kids to see them off on the school bus
Prison Break - interesting premise, but a prison full of people who have just come out of make up and hair
Once Upon a Time and Salem - perhaps they'd be decent if they weren't pandering to American network tv rules
Veep and Arrested Development - one whole episode each, total number of laughs, zero.
I will no doubt add to the list when I remember more vacuous shit. What shows have you consigned to the shit bucket and why?

Sakho Song at OT
Did anyone hear the new Sakho song yesterday? I can't for the life of me remember how it went apart from the words that he has a large cock that he keeps in his sock. Made lots of us laugh + sounded very catchy.
Was sung at the back just left of centre

Could I ask you to spread the word regarding a Sunderland fan who went missing after getting off a Supporters coach yesterday, he never made it in to the game and hasnt been seen since or made contact with any of his friends/Family.

Now I know it was only one game but he played very well yesterday. Could be worth investigating , low cost loan or purchase. Looks like he play just behind Christian.

Free transfer from Lyon great vision and skill. Would provide great competition on the wings and would provide us with more cutting edge creativity in the final third.
Do we all wanna play Brighton in August.
Or are you not bothered?..................come on wake up away end......
Shout out for Joel Ward
Apologies if already a thread, but massive respect for ward playing in every single game this season. Great effort.

Compensation Activity?
It's that horrible time of year when you realize there is no more football for a few months. Not even a Euro or World Cup this summer. The horror. The horror...
I'll be sustaining myself with tennis ( although no Ana Ivanovic -sob ) and an obsessive checking of the BBS transfer forum. It's just about enough.
What about other BBSers? What gets you though Palace withdrawal until August?

I'm not reading in to it. I just think it's an oddity

Most trouble gotten into watching palace
What is the most trouble you have gotten into watching palace (at a game or on Tv) mine are:
Kicked out of the Reebok stadium for standing up
Being threatened to be locked out of the Ricoh arena boxing day for drinking beer in the stands (ran up with it for the penalty which speroni saved)
Fighting at wolves away (got jumped) Bruce was manager and kirovsky scored the winner to take us top
Fight at Norwich away ( nothing special, he gave It, I decked him)
The best!!!!! Call in sick for work to watch Leicester away in the cup (won 3-0 at filbert street with a rubens stunner) my boss (who knew I went to every palace game) read the paper in the morning and saw the report of the game. Asked me how it was and I told him it was great. He asked me to work Saturday instead otherwise I was fired. I told home I couldn't because we had Sheffield Wed at home so he fired me (I was 17 and without responsibilities)
What are yours?

Recommend a Plumber
Dear BBS. Due to the semi-legal shanty town style waste piping one often experiences in London period conversion flats, my kitchen sink is blocked solid in a way that is also backing up my bathroom sink and stopping washing machine and dishwasher draining.
Having poured about six pints of sink unblocker down there, plunged it like a man possessed and sworn at it for 24 hours, I have come to the sorry conclusion that I have no choice but to request the services a plumber.
Does anyone have a recommendation of a decent plumber in South Norwood area that will come out on a Sunday and not bankrupt me? Many thanks.

Most fouls in PL this season (pre final game)
samedi 20 mai 2017
I was checking up if Wilf was in fact the most fouled player (Hazard still a couple ahead at this point...) and come across these stats.
According to the premier league website we have 3 players in the top 10 who have committed the most fouls in the league this season!
Positions 1st (yes top), 8th and joint 10th.
Without cheating any guesses who they are (bonus points for order)???

Gave an interview suggesting he wants to stay in prem (See ed maaylon retweet) be it at stoke or elsewhere.
Would be exactly what we need - prem proven, and can link midfield to attack like nobody else in our squad
Proved an odd decision to loan him out - was class for stoke when fit.

As it is the last game, I thought I would put it up early for an end of season talk.
Not sure about the Hong Kong comp but I don't normally do any pre season matches so I'll see you all next season for our 5th year in the top level of English football.

Steve Browett - Millwall
vendredi 19 mai 2017
Dear Steve,
is there a way you could drop off the board of directors and buy Millwall as a toy for the palace fans?
We could then create an APP for palace fans to control and do things like:
Publish fake fixture lists and news so they end up in plymouth on a monday night without a game
cancel all the beer orders for matchday in the ground
cancel the cleaning contract at the den
make half time substitutions through the APP from selhurst
I checked and their club can be bought for around £15m I would sacrifice the Sakho purchase just for this!
PLEASEEEEEE

Worth a read. Always thought he was hard done by and this confirms it.
Really happy we have him - he did **** up, but from interviews/general public persona seems a stand up bloke.

Jermain Defoe and Bradley Lowery
As some of you may have seen its that little soldier Bradley's birthday today and jermain defoe made an appearance at his party. Defoe really has gone up in a my estimations as a human being a real role model. No attitude no asking for money for his guest appearances he does it just for little Bradley's cause and raises money for his treatment. Whenever I see them 2 together I get a bit of a lump in my throat. Reminds me of being young and having idols and despite all the attitudes and cash in football there are still some great role models in there for youngsters to look up to.

Can we 'do a Leicester' ?
After a great end of season run resulting in survival, there is a cause for optimism at Palace that we haven't seen since the days of Steve Coppell.
It's by no means not beyond the realms of possibility that with a decent pre season and Allardyce picking up some great overseas players as well as keeping our current crop of talent we can challenge for the title.
Rationale
Chelsea will struggle without Hazard and Costa + the added bonus of another 12+ games in Europe that they didn't have this season
Man United are a spent force and will lose Zlatan in the summer.
Man City should challenge
Spurs will struggle at Wembley resulting in failure to finish in the top four and Arsenal with are without Wenger - nothing to worry about. Liverpool under the myth that is Klopp will blow it again and will have more games in Europe to think about, this will allow Crystal Palace to run away with the title.
Thoughts?

Financial Fair Play rules - transfer budget
Couldn't see another thread on this. Am I right in saying that the Club's ability to spend is now increased because we have now had significantly increased turnover in the last 3 years due to our 5 year stay in the division?
Previously, our turnover would have been dragged down due to turnover in the Championship, but we've now lost that constraint?

Don't normally do one if these but he's been great for Stoke this season. So much so he was their player of the year! However he's back to number two now behind butland.
sounds like he wants first team football and will look to leave if he doesn't get it.
Certainly not a long term solution at 34 and not my first choice but if we spunk massive amounts of cash on Sakho and still need another 4/5 signings then he'd hopefully be a more modest fee at that age and be very good for 2/3 years whilst allowing us to invest in the other areas we need for next season.
Not plan A, but a decent option for me depending on our cash situation this summer and possibly available

Tory Party's Plans for Retire Health Care
So let me get this straight. The Tory party are suggesting that your care should be self funded until you are left with just £100k of assets but, it's all ok because you won't be charged until you die.
This is nothing but a tax with the highest rate charged to the poorest and the lowest paid by the wealthy.
Your £200k flat? We'll have half of that.
Genuinely disgusted of Dorset.

The Eupen winger/striker has been on fire for his Belgian club during his breakout season and is now up to 23 goals and 14 assists. He's being watched by Southampton, Everton, West Brom and Palace.
Affordable, young, hungry to move up and prove himself with massive sell on potential. Here's the type of young player Palace needs to sign to show their ambition for top ten rather than another relegation fight next season.
A lot of teams are interested and it won't be easy or likely but a full court press needs to be shown to this young man.

Summer Subbuteo League/Day of Drinking event
The close season bores me intensely, to be honest im bored already and it hasnt even started yet.
Does anyone fancy having a summer saturday subbuteo league? Im pretty rusty, having not played for about 30 years, but how hard can it be. We just need a 'stadium' pub and a few players. Beer is compulsory. In fact the subbuteo can take a back seat to the drinking if preferred or fights break out.

Not sure if gambling or regional rounds will be allowed, havent really thought that far ahead or indeed through at all to be honest. Good idea, or stupid sleep-deprived one? I had a Wolves team that were the dogs bollocks, they could all jink left or right, or go straight if required. Not sure where they are now, right enough. Anyway, thought I would put it out there in case anyone fancied beer with an excuse :)

Retospective Bans For Diving From Next Season
The FA has voted to introduce retrospective bans from next season for players that dive.
Under the new rules, passed by the governing body at its annual general meeting on Thursday, a panel will review footage from the weekend each Monday looking for cases of simulation.
Any player unanimously found guilty of diving would be given a suspension.
The panel will consist of one ex-match official, one ex-manager and one ex-player.

Loan: Ruben Loftus-Cheek
I appreciate our focus will be on getting 4-5 permanent quality signings over the summer but always been impressed by Loftus-Cheek and his is open to a season long loan to a Premiership club. Big, strong, versatile and can play. An excellent addition to the squad. Thoughts?

Mourinho: I hope Palace go soft on us
Dejan Kalinic - 2 hrs ago
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho hopes Crystal Palace go "soft" on his team as he again vented his frustration with his side's schedule.
United's busy run of fixtures continued with a 0-0 draw at Southampton on Wednesday, a clash which marked their fifth game this month.
Unable to move from sixth in the Premier League, they host Palace, who have avoided relegation, on Sunday, days before the Europa League final against Ajax.
Mourinho said his side's league outing should have been moved to Saturday as he asked for Palace manager Sam Allardyce to take it easy against what is set to be a youthful United team.
"I never saw any detail of trying to care about the English teams involved in European competitions," he said.
"I never saw that with Chelsea, I never saw that with Manchester United, I never saw that with Manchester City last year. I never saw. I never saw. So I think it's just a lost battle [asking to move the game].
"You have to accept the way it is and I hope the fans at Old Trafford on Sunday, they support the team, they forgive some naivety, they forgive some lack of confidence.
"I hope that Big Sam shows he's a good friend and they go slow. He tells [Wilfried] Zaha to go slow, he leaves [Christian] Benteke at home. I hope he goes soft on us."
Mourinho said the likes of Demetri Mitchell, Scott McTominay, Axel Tuanzebe, Matthew Willock, Josh Harrop and Zachary Dearnley would join Eric Bailly and Paul Pogba in the matchday squad.

Stadium Naming rights
mercredi 17 mai 2017
Clearly the vast majority have been dead against it before but it's one of the few revenue streams we don't take advantage of.
With us being so close on FFP now if naming the stadium financed Wilfs new deal and Sahko would you still be against it?
I'm assuming the name isn't a sponsor we'd all hate.
Mansion Park anyone?

Few players available without an extortionate fee to pay. Quite like that Kirchoff geezer. Did a good job for SA for Sunderland. With Ledley probably off I wonder if we'll be in for him on a free.

Suggestion: Sell Dann
Purely from a financial sense, it seems like our wage bill has crept up very quickly. Benteke Wilf certainly over 100k a week, with cabaye remy mandanda townsend dann all near it. Allegedly.
Obviously mandanda and remy leaving, but it still seems we need some room to afford fee and wages for Sakho, which i suspect means we will need to sell one of cabaye and dann.
Cabaye under allardyce has been crucial, and our midfield is massively lacking depth - we need around two midfielders as it is.
Dann however, is seemingly 3rd choice behind tomkins sakho - and with kelly proving himself an adequete backup if one player had to be lost to finance the keeping of Wilf and sakho unfortunantly for me it would have to be Dann.
Thoughts?

Discussion: Can We Really Afford To Sign Sakho?
Baring in mind that we need to replace up to 12 players this summer, 5 are out of contract (inc Sakho and Remy) and that we won't have more than £60m net to spend, can we really afford to sign Sakho?
Here's my take on it.

Watford Weirdos
Mazzarri off at the end of the season now. No wonder he didn't bother to learn English.
Since December 2013 they've had Zola, Sannino, Garcia, McKinlay ,Jokanovic, Flores, Mazzarri and now whoever his replacement is.
Are their owners expecting them to be qualifying for the Champions League every season or what?

TV Total Appearances 2016/17
With the last 2 TV games at Liverpool and Watford being selected today we now know the total TV selections for the season.
Liverpool have had the most appearances with 29 out of their 38 games on TV. The other top sides have obviously also been televised most with Man Utd and Chelsea next on 28 , Man City -27, Arsenal - 25 and Spurs with 24 selections.
Sunderland and Hull have made the least appearances with only 8 games each.
We have been televised a total of 14 times with 10 on Sky and 9 home games but we did not have a late Sunday home game all season.
Stoke, Sunderland and Hull each had only one appearance on BT with Stoke and Sunderland both being away games. Both West Ham and Hull did not have a game, home or away, in either the Saturday lunchtime or Sunday 12:00 TV slots whilst Watford and Stoke did not have any 4:00 Sunday games. Southampton also avoided having any lunchtime home games on Saturday or Sunday. Strangely none of Arsenal, Man City and Spurs had a Monday or Friday night home game.
Probably mainly because of European fixtures, Man City had 8 TV games at Saturday lunchtime with Arsenal -6, Spurs -5 and Man Utd -5.
A quarter of the total Sky and BT TV money is shared out pro-rata as a facility fee depending on appearances so this works out at about £1.2 million per game with all clubs guaranteed the equivalent of a minimum 10 selections

Paddy McCarthy Testimonial?
Not sure if this works out but next season wouldn't Paddy of given 10 years of service the club, player and coach combined or did he have time out of the club?
One rule for the clever, and another for the rest of us.

Referee for Man Utd
The referee for Sunday's at United will be Anthony Taylor along with his fellow Cup Final officials of Gary Beswick and Marc Perry.
Taylor comes from Altrincham, about 6 miles from Old Trafford but as he is an Altrincham fan he has done several games for both Manchester clubs.
This will be the fourth time he has officiated us this season. Marriner, Moss, Pawson, Atkinson and Oliver have also had four of our games this season. Of the other senior select group officials Kevin Friend has only had 1 game whilst we have only had Lee Mason at all this year so it hasn't been all bad.

Could Zaha be our Le Tissier?
In many ways we were so lucky Ferguson retired after signing Wilf. Things could have panned out very differently for him there otherwise. Of course every window there will be rumours of Spurs or other clubs wanting him, but is it just possible that he loves it here? Now he has also committed to Ivory Coast he will most likely be permanent fixture in their side too. Maybe it's not all about medals for him and he just loves the game and being somewhere he has the freedom to express himself, and we can also now afford to give him a great contract too. I think he is staying longer than we think.
Palace vs Hull Prematch
Did anyone record the build up ie. 1100-1200 from Sunday or point me at a stream / download of it as my son is on it and is desperate to see it.
Much appreciated if anyone can help out :)

Anyone travelling from East Anglia to the match on Sunday?
Lift there required (not by me). Happy to pay the petrol. PM me if able to assist and i'll pass you his phone number. Cheers. Reason for request: crappy car.

Currently got Sky Q, with their own router, and want to know whether or not i can set the internet up to run through a VPN so that anything connected to the router can have its usage (Kodi) hidden?
Slow and interupted on line viewing
If I try to watch a Palace game on line ( streaming ) it takes ages to load and constantly freezes . Getting same problem if I go to Palace site . stop start all the time . Even video from youtube same problem.
I have done full scan and system restore - only happened last couple weeks - any ideas ( I havn`t loaded anything new ) . Actually Internet generally seems bit slower .

Not seen this lad but all i hear/read are rave reviews meant to be a top draw passer. If Fulham fail to make PL for those of you that have seen him is he worth a punt ?.
Palace 332 Brighton 0
Here is Palace and Brighton's comparative Premier League points total :
Palace have so far accumulated 332 points and counting in Premier League games
Brighton have won 0 points in Premier League games.
It will be a very long time, if ever for Brighton to earn bragging rights over Palace.
Keep minding that gap.

What Palace Memorabilia Do You Display At Home
It would be interesting to know what memorabilia fellow Palace fans around the world have on display in their home.
Here is some of mine :
1967 Framed team photo
1970-71 Glaziers lampshade
1980 Eagles pub mirror
Palace manager mock-up print with Neil Warnock as a back-drop
Palace mugs
HF stickers which my grand daughter decided to decorate some of the walls with.
This is just the stuff that is actually displayed in the house but we now have a blue car with red interior and the obligatory Palace window stickers are proudly on display.

Steve Parish and the board
Thankyou
Mr Parish deserves a statue. The Jan transfer window really was the saving of us, and the board really put the money where there mouths are.
5 season in the best league in the world.
Unreal.

What will the Premier League make of our rivalry
Living in the North 9 times out of 10 any mention of Brighton being our main rivals is met with bemusement and I am guessing we will be going into next season with a little known rivalry amongst our elite armchair clapper happy fans.
In a league with very little actual proper derbies will our 2 games take the league by complete surprise, turn into a Sky Sports 'Palace vs Watford' London Derby crap or pass by completely unnoticed?
I think they might be in for a shock at what a real derby is.

Wilf.
Kept an eye on our talisman and there was nothing in his body language to suggest he wants a move either during the game or after.Celebrated all the goals with real gusto, joined in after without looking emotional about his last home game and surely he wouldn't have gone to a Palace pub after if he was going to ask to leave.Firmly believe the contract will be signed soon:love::lux:.

Saw this on a Hull forum and thought it was a good means of evaluating the current squad, debating who may or may not be deadwood, and having a bit of crystal ball predict-the-summer-madness fun. So here goes. Feel free to cut and paste your own replies, with as much or little context as you wish…

'Just a game'... isn't it?
OK, I know football isn't everything and that, in real life, there are things happening every minute of every single day which dwarf it in terms of importance. But I have to come clean and admit that this latest great escape really meant the world to me.
It's scarcely an exaggeration to say the plight of our club was having a genuine effect on my mood in all aspects of life. The thought of relegation with such a talented squad and knowing the profound effect it would have on so many people was truly depressing me.
Yesterday's result, albeit against depleted and demoralised opposition, was almost dream-like. I know it's a cliche, but I was honestly expecting to wake up after leaving Selhurst and be told it was all a dream. For all our worries to be ended so completely and so swiftly seemed unreal and almost anti-climactic. But thank God it happened!
I'm far too old to feel the way I do about a medium-sized, up-and-down and, frankly, rather flaky football club. But, looking around yesterday, I guess I'm not the only one. Anyone else care to confess? Or am I wrong and is it really "just a silly game"?

What's happening with the place now? I was under the impression it was shutting down to make way for more executive box areas or something along those lines but have seen people say it will still be open next season but run by the club?

I have to say that litter is one of my bête noirs, although even I think that some of these examples (if true) go too far. I can just about forgive people for chucking readily bio-degradable stuff away, but nothing else.

Suggestion: Out of favour premiership players
I think theres a lot of good players not getting games for a number of reasons we should look at my suggestions
Perez from arsenal looked good when he has played wdnger doesnt seem to like him
Imbulla from stoke powerful midfielder class against us a few years ago
Monterro swansea rapid winger always caused us problems fitness might be an issue
Delph good player hopefully bored of being on the city bench!

Can anyone recommend a removal company?
As Moverman has, well, moved, I was wondering if there were any other Palace suggestions for removal companies? We're moving offices from Embankment to Cannon Street so thought I'd ask here first.
Your Wife & Marco Silva
My Mrs doesn't give a toss about football/Palace. She indulges my obsession. But last night she watched MOTD2 quite intently and was clearly very taken with the Hull manager, even though he looked rather crestfallen for most of the match. She got a bit girly and had a glint in her eye that I haven't seen for many years.
So, ladies of the BBS, what is it that Marco has, that Big Sam hasn't? I know those Latin types have a certain obvious aesthetic appeal, but Sam's got something of the Ray Winstone/Gene Hunt about him hasn't he? I thought you liked that stuff.

Suggested Team and Formation For: Man Utd (away)
Go full strength. Cabaye and Tomkins are not fully fit though so let them have a breather:
----------------------Henessey----------------------------
Ward--------Kelly----------------Schlupp-------Van Aanholt
----------------------Milivojevic------------------------------
Townsend---Puncheon----------McArthur------Zaha
------------------------Benteke------------------------------
Subs:
Speroni
Delaney
Flamini
Ledley
Sako
Campbell
Kai Kai
It's a bit left field, but Schlupp (my Man of the Match vs Hull) deserves to keep his place, and yet Van Aanholt is a quality player with more technical ability - he will be our left back for years to come. So we should accommodate both if we can. To me, this is the perfect opportunity to give Schlupp another try at centre back. His pace is such a massive asset for the Premier League in particular, and whilst his positioning needs improving on he can tackle and defend. He is left footed, has the pace to get him out of trouble and also the ability to bring the ball out and join in with counter attacks. Assuming Tomkins is injured who else could we play there? Delaney is obviously not part of Big Sam's plans going forward, so let's look to the future. Not saying it will work, but no harm in trying it. He has the pace to counter the threat of Martial and Rashford.
Would also like to give Sako a chance to show what he can do, plus also perhaps minutes for Speroni and Kai-Kai. But first and foremost, let's go for the win :p

Hull Game in Sydney
dimanche 14 mai 2017
The young Mineagles persuaded me to go in to Sydney to watch the game last night with the Sydney supporters club. Held of course in the Palace hotel . What a great night placed had maybe 50/60 people there and a great atmosphere. Youngest Mineagle the mouthy one won a raffle prize, the Hi Money book, which I am given to understand is on its way from the UK. It was actually donated by Hi's son who was there ,and was pleased that I remembered his mum.
Anyway thanks to all the Sydney bunch for a great night ,will do it again next season. If the young KM's have any pictures I will try and post.

No thread for the Holmesdale ball boy?
Apologies if there is one but quick look while on beak and couldn't find one. Thought he was brilliant not only putting the ball in the correct area but also not rushing to give them the ball:supergrin:

Suggestion: Michy Batshuayi (Loan) Summer
I know with Costa likely going the likelyhood is he will play more games and that it will be Defoe coming in, could we/should we possibly look into Batshuayi on loan?
Young, we've done a thorough scouting job on him, would push Benteke as second choice who's arguably as good as he is
Thoughts?

Sports Science
I was reading this a while back and looking at the way Leicester built a really detailed and dedicated Sports science unit to work at the club and I was wondering, I know Allardyce has started to go in that direction, but I really think it could be worth investing a fairly sizeable chunk of money in it

Strikers for 2017/18 season
What / who do we need ? think we was very lucky that benteke did not pick up any injuries this season and we seem very very low in this department next season i would like to see
A starting pairing of
Benteke & jermain Defoe
with back up ? rotation of
Troy Deeney & Connor Wickham with 5th choice loan deal to tammy abraham from chelsea who knocked in 23 goals for bristol city
So what would your 5 strikers be for 2017/18 ?

If We Beat Manchester United
If we beat them, for me anyway, we'd have had a successful season, well maybe not successful, but certainly worthwhile. We clearly should've done better, but we now have a more balanced squad, a better manager, we're safe, hopefully Wilf will stay, we've beaten the champions on their own turf, beaten Liverpool at Anfield again and battered Arsenal. A win at Old Trafford would rescue this season with a possible 11th place finish, but definitely in the mid table category. It's been hell for most of the season, but beating those smug b@stards would really be some finale.
big money signings and pushing on
Now we can enjoy another season and improve squad overall,
Do you think we will break our transfer record?
I personally believe it could be a amazing window with americans on board they showed not afraid to spend even in january when things looked really bad.
Already looking forward to next season especially with brighton :p

Well Done Allardyce
Well done, congratulations and thank you Sam Allardyce. Despite a slow start, he identified what was needed, got the January recruitment spot on, and eventually got the players playing the way that was necessary to stay in the division. A bit of a stumble the last few games but got there in the end. Well done Sam and enjoy your evening!

Shoutout to Wilf who always seems a bit uncomftorable/awkward in such situations but recognises the importance and does it anyway

34 points for safety??
Phew can relax now.
It looks like 34 points + gd or 35 points would be enough to survive now if hull don't beat spurs next week. who would of thought we could be 7 points + clear of relegation this time next week.
If only we knew that was all we needed would have saved a lot of stress these last few weeks.

Countdown to fresh hostilities
And so it is confirmed - CPFC secure a record 5th consecutive season in the top flight, and BHAFC embark upon their first ever season in the PL, almost like a new Swindon or something. Good for them.

Well done HDeagle
Throughout the last few weeks the one positive beacon has been HDeagle. He has received a ton of abuse, some of it understandable but most of it not.
We are safe. Can we put aside our petty arguments and all just celebrate tonight. One question though. Why on earth couldn't we have played like that against Burnley and avoided the last two weeks of anxiety and heart-searching?
