Are we better off with the Internet or without

It strikes me that the whilst the Internet can be useful the majority of it is bullshit. Before it existed I went out to eat, to the cinema or theatre. I went on holiday. In fact I do everything that I do now. Oh and without the fear of identity theft, viruses, scams etc. Social networking is by and large a complete waste of time, together with the stress to youngsters of cyber bullying and the seemingly unpoliceable crime. Then we have what we are told is the dark web! Is it really worth it?
