After 45 years working I've decided to take the plunge and retire, was getting totally stressed with work and was due to have my annual appraisal with my line manager, went in there and just said 'before we start I'm retiring'. Found it a very hard thing to do at the time, but as my wiofe said to me'you don't have to work so why do it?' (not that I'm rich or anything), although we can afford for me to do it, so here I am on a Tuesday sitting at home on my settee with a cup of tea effectively on gardening leave.
Now looking foward to playing more golf and doing lots of things for myself! Already feeling much better for it :D
