Does anyone have a culture within their work place of passive aggressive emailing?
Its something that is becoming more and more prevalent in my organization - rather than just email the person concerned, line managers and even more senior staff get copied in.
For example, I have responsibility for our website. If there is a fault that arises, for example on an application form, the person concerned could simply email me and we can fix it. Later on, if I haven't done my job properly, or a senior member of staff wants to know what happened, past correspondence could be highlighted.
But the way that it has gone, is that the person concerned emails me, along with my line manager, several people on the same level as my line manager, all the way up to director level. And it is now becoming almost universally accepted organisation wide.
Anyone else have this? Anyone got a solution. I am tempted to say that I wont reply to CC emails.
