Individual brilliance reason for early season form

Individual brilliance reason for early season form....not a well drilled, well organised team.

I like Pardew and think he is the correct fit for our club at the moment but he has hugely benefitted (as Holloway) did before him from the creativity, pace and cutting edge of individual players.

I would argue that it was their good individual form that was largely responsible for our early season results...which is fine when it lasts .........but a season is 9 months long and what happens when you suffer key injuries (Bolaisie) or individual loss of form (Puncheon) or have run of bad luck / poor decisions?

The answer is you go on a run of defeats.

Consistency is the key to success and you never achieve it with over reliance on individuals within a team structure.....

It is no coincidence that none of our strikers have scored goals......it is no coincidence that our away points total is hugely better than our home.......it is no coincidence that we suffer defeats to team lower than us in the table.....

All of the above is a direct result of a playing style dependent upon individuals turning up and performing ........we have no playing identity .....no style that has a clear definition......understood by the players and continually developed by the coaching staff.....

I have no doubt we will slowly drag ourselves over the line this season but we have to look at the pattern that has developed at all of Pardews previous clubs......the freedoms he gives his players is in my opinion to be celebrated but it has to come with a plan B alongside the safety net of a team structure that is capable of achieving consistency throughout a season not just when key players happened to be in form.
