Trading Standards Career Change

I've got a friend who's interested in a career change and has indicated Trading Standards as a potential field she would be interested in.

She's not got a degree, but has heard you can get the necessary qualifications whilst on the job.

I thought I'd ask the ever so knowledgeable BBS if they knew what the best place to start would be?

Also if anyone on here works in the sector or has done previously and has any advice or recommendations?
