I'm in the process of selling my flat. Sale agreed a few weeks ago, survey done last Monday and then today get a call saying they want to do a private survey this Friday.
Anyone have any idea why someone would do a private survey?
My guesses are, they aren't happy with something on the survey and want a second opinion.
or
They've been refused their mortgage based on something.
Either way would you really pay for a second (presumably expensive survey) if it's likely there's an issue that they may pull out over.
Anyone in the industry have any insight into why someone may want a private survey done?
Should I be concerned they are going to pull out? (putting more money in seems an odd thing to do if you are going to pull out!) or am I just worrying about nothing.
Is this common?
