There appears to be a new class of scumbags surfacing who are using sharp practices to turn a profit.
Hospitals are being approached offering a free parking service. The vendors make their money out of fines!!!!!
How does it work? You pay for a set time upon arrival. Not at the time you pay but the time you enter the hospital as a number recognition system is in place.
You get back to your car late and leave seeing no ticket and think phew lucky.
The number recognition system checks your reg on exit and payment and issues an automatic fine if you exceed the time!!!!
The problem with this is that at some hospitals it can take 30 minutes to get out in busy periods.
The answer is to pay for more than you need.
I don't have an issue with this provided that the terms are made clear and its fair. But they are not. Its in the small print. And when I'm queuing to get out I'm not parked so why should I pay for that time!!!!! Also, most people that visit hospitals are doing so for medical reasons not for fun so parking is dealt with quickly.
Yet another example of robbing the vulnerable and easy targets.
