Has this morning announced his retirement. A great signing for Sky Sports as he will be joining their team of pundits from January.
I cant think of many better performances than the one he produced on Valentines Night in 2005 against us at Highbury. He was unplayable and just seemed to score or produce an attempt on goal every time he touched the ball. Such a wonderful player who in his prime was like a Rolls Royce on the pitch. So graceful and so sublime to watch.
For me, one of the greatest to ever play the game on these shores.
Has anyone else walked away from a Palace game after facing an opposing player and thinking Wow. Just wow? That performance has always stood out to this day.
And yes, I know the Irish lot on here hold a grudge ;)
